So if you are interested in rumours about the rules, you can see what their guesses are.

Shouldn't be guesses - enough copies of IA12 were sold today that someone who owns the book should be the one responding.

The Nightshroud's stats seem pretty good. So good it might even see play in 40K games whenever Forgeworld's "40K" stuff is allowed. 225pts for an AV14 flyer (as long as the QS holds) with one TL Tesla Destructor and five S10 AP1 large blast bombs with pinning and blinding. The skyfire stuff is really going to have problems with AV14 and evade.

OK, that's the last of my pictures up - including ones of two of the display boards.

There's about half a dozen of the IA12 board, as per the request from earlier today.

OK, I know what it's really a part of, but I can't help wondering...which army's getting the new Startled Duck unit?

I like the Orc Command models a lot. Probably can't justify paying for them just to convert them to Nobz though...

I am wondering if there will be a third model in the Orc Command set, or if those two Orcs are it. There didn't seem to be a clear indication of who worked on them, so I didn't ask at the time - plus, the question only just occurred to me...

I really hope that they did just hack up their resin RoB tile to create those other stand alone necron structures on the other tiles. I'd snap them up if they offered them otherwise.

They're in the catalogue as Orc Command and only have the picture of the two models shown, so I'd assume that that's it.
There's also another Tomb Stalker variant with a cannon for a face, but I'm doing an essay at the moment so can't photograph it.

Forgeworld just keeps astounding. It's depressing to see such excellent designs keep going to the company's fringe catalog where they will get less exposure and less play, while middling and mediocre models keep getting released by GW proper.

I've had bad luck with Forgeworld's resin so I'm not sure about buying from them, but I think if half these designs were in plastic or white metal I'd be committed not just to getting back into GW, but into starting new armies. Hell, they're managing to make Space Marines and Necrons appeal to me, and that's something I thought was impossible.

Because it's Forge World, not GW. FW are willing to show upcoming stuff they're working on before it's been released.

No kidding.

Anyway, it won't be long now. Black Library just embraced the consumer-friendly "only 2 weeks before" method of promotion and advertising***, so we have to assume that pretty soon a "Forge World Open Day" will just be a collection of words that make sense individually but have no meaning when put together.

***NB: This method fails at both promotion and advertising.

Lmao no way. What a wasted oppertunity. We could have had an amazing C'tan model. A new superheavy, anything!.

Instead, the only TRULY new thing that isn't a rehash of a codex unit or something that was released previously is:

Sentry Pylon (even at that it's just a scaled down pylon)
Tomb Citadel
2 Unique lords (assuming they get a model)

Yeah, this is a bit disappointing. Where's the abattoir and the aeonic orb? Those are an old part of necron lore, and they don't even get models or rules (outside of epic, anyway).

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that FW is finally paying attention to necrons, but still.

Look at it this way. At least the new stuff you're getting is playable in regular 40k.

Look what Tyranids got from Forgeworld. 4 Gargantuan Creatures limited to Apocalypse, an alternate Carnifex loadout, the useless Malanthrope and some bigger Spore Mines.

While the Heirophant and Heirodules and Harridan are pretty badass models, how often do you play games big enough to use them?

I thought that vehicle was a casualtie recovery vehicle so power armor/gene-seed could be easily moved out of enemy paths during a battle. Both are precious to the Astartes and moving them while also fighting isn't as easy as it would seem at first glance.

But perhaps I was being too rational...

There's about half a dozen of the IA12 board, as per the request from earlier today.

There are several boards with Necron plinths to be seen, e.g. 3 flat ones with two plinthes on one side. Did they look like future releases or just custom made? Or like single plinth releases as alternative bases for Necron pylons?

Marked_by_chaos over at Warseer wrote:Attended the day today. Was great. Always interesting to talk to the forge world/warhammer forge guys as they can actually talk about upcoming projects and direction.

The points I picked up from the day are as follows:

Battle for black fire pass has been delayed, and the impression I get is that it may not be coming out this year. Horus heresy has knocked the forge world studio for six. Although they have kept on designing warhammer forge stuff, at a slower rate and sometimes in their spare time, the main impact seems to have been with the book design team having been focused toward Horus heresy stuff and the fall of Orpheus imperial armour book. They are trying to rectify this which is why a number of vacancies have recently been advertised to expand the team of writers and artists. They are keen not to rush black fire pass and although the models may be released as they are finished they want a great product with great original art and writing for the book itself.

In terms of future books they are keen to emulate tamurkhan down to having complete army lists and potentially warhammer forge exclusive armies.

The k'dai destroyer is finished but awaiting production and has been finished for around 3 months.

Look out for more command figures for other races over time.

As others have commented Trish Carden is now full time warhammer forge and is apparently going to be heavily involved in completing the monstrous arcana range.

New Orc and empire command units are finished. Empire is standard, captain and prophet of doom. Both look great.

Pushkin over at Warseer wrote:Hi all

I see most of the pictures of the heresy stuff have already been posted. I chatted to some of the designers and the thing that struck me was how many of them were new to FW, there's obviously been a big recruitment drive. They also mentioned that warhammer forge has been scaled down to just two people and that's the reason for the delay in the book.

The designer who is doing sons of Horus stuff said that the contemptors was delayed a bit cos he can't get the body right, but the reavers were finished. The command squad was also WIP.

The fell glaive was meant to be finished this week but needs a few bits done - don't think this will be released till the next book.

iA volume 3 the taros campaign 2nd ed is finished and is at the printers. They had a proof copy there and it looked really good.

I was chatting to the guy designing the iron hands stuff and he's only got started so didn't have much done. Though the painters have been painting up tons of iron hands, which makes sense given ferrus mannus is next after Fulgrim.

Oh and they are going to do more board sections in the style of the crashed thunderhawk. The guys said about doing ruined tanks etc. there are no plans to do any more city tiles at present but he said it is something he would like to do.
(...)
I spoke with Tamilia Fox and she was saying that it was more a rules and formatting update. The book has been out of print for a while so the tau list has been updated for the new codex and for 6ed rules. Also the pages are no longer white, they're the coloured ones like in IA11!

Warllama Blog wrote:So with those out of the way onto the scraps of information I managed to find out...

Imperial Armour 3 - the taros campaign is getting a second edition. It's already at the printers and will contain all tau units according to Talima.
Simon Egan has only got a couple of hours more work to put into Fulgrim then he's ready for release at the Horus Heresy Weekender.
The next Primarch to be done is Ferrus Manus. It's related to him and Fulgrim that he's up before Massacre comes out.
Will is working on an unspecified Mechanicum unit at the moment.
Massacre (horus heresy book 2) is hopefully going to be ready for this years games day.
When I was chatting to Trish about the Warhammer Fantasy stuff, she said that all work on the Battle for Black Fire Pass is halted until further notice.
Simon is solely working on Primarchs for the foreseeable future.
Once the heresy landspeeder is complete, that chap (sorry I've forgotten his name) is hoping to resume work on a new Tau suit, it's size will be between an XV8 and a XV25.
Will Hayes has been working on some Heresy Tartarus pattern terminators. They don't have the aquilla and will have full Betrayal weapon sets released.
