I'm currently hooked on Borderlands 2, that's a VERY Necromunda Ash-wastes type game

Have not playhed with that game. I have had plenty of the fun of post apocalyptic, ash wastes with Fallout-3 and Fallout: New Vegas!

I am a die hard Tread head, that was just the IG forces alone. I have quite the few Tau and SM vehicles, I hhave some Necron and Ork stuff as well, just the IG beats all others out in sheer numbers, "Quantity has a quality all it's own" J. Stalin, 1942

Even to today I can pull it off. No one expects a 6'5" tall 300pound white guy to be behind them without making too much noise. Usually it's the creaking bones that give me away .

Was starting to paint bloodbowl Norse stuff, let me know what you think. Also what color wash would you use on the skin and fur. The linemen and blitzes will get gang tats/tribal markings in purple or green. They only have the base skin tone right now they will be pale like the wendigos flesh, and fur lining on their clothes the same as the wendigos fur. The one werewolf is almost one, will get the same wash as the wendigo, the other werewolf might be a lightly different color.

The Blood Bowl team is looking good so far. Would you mind telling me where those 4 miniatures in the last pic are from? I recognize the Blood Bowl Werewolf from the Undead team but the others I'm drawing a blank on. The muscular human looking guy on the far left is particularly interesting and the sasquatch/wendigo looking fellow in the center is awesome as well. I'd love to know which company makes them. Also, have you had a chance to read the pm I sent you?

@ephrael, sent you PM response. Sorry for the delay, got caught up in lots, never mind all the posts about video games . Muscular man is one of the "Boris" figures from Hersey. Sasquatch and werewolf were/are from reaper or whatever they are called now, heard a name change was in the works. And your dead on with the GW werewolf. Wilhelm Chaney

@Vik, man I missed you. I hope your family reunion went well. Did your son love his gun? You also mentioned a holiday, what was it? We Americans need to borrow more holidays from the rest of the world.

There will be gun emplacements, view ports, and the league lantern , just taking some time on other things.

Speaking of which...

Mantis in his primed glory. Just started raining now. Glad I got him and the yard done first thing.

Also today is the last day for my kids and wife at school. They should be home in the next hour to begin a short summer break. My wife however only gets a week as she is the summer school principal for high school.

Last bit...please cross fingers and if you believe in prayer I'd appreciate it, about to have my tribunal hearing and I'm nervous as . We're fine either way, but it would be so much better if it turns out positive. We're talking a couple thousand dollars being held back from me at this time. Who couldn't use that for hobby stuff .

Two hour phone conversation later and still no answer. A lot of things brought to light, and a lot put on public record if further issues warrant. I should know in the next week or two as to the outcome, still praying.

@vik, I think your talking about Pentecost. Just dint realize it was a national holiday, but I guess it could just be a religious holiday, I was just wondering if it was a Germany specific one.

Did some painting....yes really, couldn't sleep so 3am bloodbowl on the computer followed by

Most of basics are laid out. Needs another highlight on the yellow shirt. Still not sure of the color, but as this is an extra and not part of the team I'm playing around with him. The player number will be on the back in black with a white border. Tried som squiggles on his shoulder to be tattoos, not sure ho I feel about them yet.

The team has the same name as my dwarf team will have as they won't be in he same league it shouldn't matter.

Team name: the Frosty Mugs (Muggs, or Mugz) never nailed down which one exactly.

Other painting this morning is on our utility room which is being changed into my sons very own room. When we moved he and his twin sister wanted o share a room still. That was fine as it gave us a computer room. Now they decided they want their own separate rooms. Blue walls going up, no weathering

Good to see some paint appearing here.

Little tip I've read about painting tattoos is (like stubble) mix the colour with the base skin colour to make it look more natural/realistic.

Good start to the Mantis. He seems to be leaning a long way forward there, is that just the camera angle?

@Dr. H, thanks for he tip, I'll try it on one of the other 3dozen Norse guys I have before revisiting his guy. As for the leaning, it was intentional. The jump pack exhaust is parallel to the ground. He is fighting close quarters inboard a ship, and gets the verticle from a small leap and the thrust from his backpack to hurl himself at the opponents. He just finished off two guardsmen, and as the physical laws of the 40k universe are in effect, their bodies and gear have evaporated leaving only the skulls at his feet . His next burst of speed will have him plowing into a makeshift barricade that will not stop him.

@shaso, yes paint is happening slowly. Wife won't allow me to use irbruh in the basement or even the separate garage , so I'm getting practice with a brush again. Much needed practice.

Big thanks to dsteingass as I have never thinned my paints before but he said it would bring back my dried older paints and a little experimentation has 20-30 bottles of crusty paint back alive and well

Blocked in some more areas, and now wondering if I should add some yellow trim on the pads and backpack. Also what colors should I do on the weapons. The melta gun is green, but he c.c. Claws could be green, yellow, or possibly red or black. I'm puzzled right now.

Better idea of he angle of attack. He is pushing off with the legs in a sort of headlong rush, I was thinking of doing the smokey exhaust from the pack from steel wool or cotton balls, but never tried it before. We are supposed to be trying new things with this challenge right?

I've not had the opportunity to try it myself, but is supposed to be the thing to do. Good luck.

I see, makes sense. Good o.

As for weapons, I think bits of them could be green/yellow to tie them in, but be careful not to end up too green... Have a google for actual insect mantises to see what they do with their claws...for inspiration.

And maybe you could continue the yellow stripe from the helmet down the middle of the jetpack... Kind of racing stripe...or not.

That green, I love it, I know it's only your base color, but it's very much what I like to call "Government green", the color the Government painted EVERYTHING in the 1950s, then it was weathered beautifully grungy by the 1970s and 1980s, I think t would be a lovely color to base your munda terrain in!

@Dr. H, not sure on the racing stripe, will give it some thought. Though the intake vent will most likely get the yellow treatment.
@dsteingass, it's just some snot green brought back to life with thinner. It took a couple coats as I think I made it a little runny.

Initial weapon thoughts are green handles, yellow green blades, maybe some red/brown around the blades tips from dried blood.

Ah yes, so many municipal items colored similar to the snot green with that lighting it was a tad darker, so looked like so many items I recall from my youth painted in a heavy coating of that kind of green

@ Dr. H, Havent touched it yet, but probably going to do just the intake vent after perusing the gallery.
@ Shaso, we didn't have much painted in that color around us, but there was some field artillery pieces at the VFW painted in that color, I think it may have been slightly darker, but I haven't used inks yet.
@ Vik, ITs actually a wrist mounted meltagun, for the really hard things that a power weapon and chain weapon just cant handle. Not really liking the yellow on the shirt either, but trying to come up with an alternate color. Thinking beer colors, didn't have any other amber colored paints here. and I'm not good at a dirty white. If you have a suggestion I'm wide open. the bluish color is supposed to be similar to the head on the beer, I need to lighten it another shade yet.

shoved the paints aside for a minute to do some cutting and gluing.

@dave, those rails are pretty sweet aren't they , and I love the missile turrets so much that I use them for my whirlwinds. I hate the whirlwind look, just rubs me the wrong way.

Worked on the roof of the towers.

Tried to make gutters, not sure how they look.

And with the turrets I give you precinct 13....What could go wrong at a precinct numbered 13?
