@kingcracker, I am blessed/cursed with a great memory, especially when it comes to movies and videos. If I have seen something before, even a few years ago I can relive it without watching it by only hearing the sounds. So I pop a movie in and listen while fully paying attention to my modeling or painting. Every now and then I'll watch the t.v., but mainly just to watch epic fight scenes. Last night I had to stop arranging furniture just to watch the hulk "rag doll" Loki during the avengers movie. That is one of my all time favorite beat down scenes. It ranks up there with the death of superman comic where doomsday slams the car door on blue beetles head(may have been booster gold).

Time to make breakfast then take the kidlets to grandmas for yard work. Hopefully get time later to post some in game pics.

Thanks bama. Think I'm going to switch back to lizardmen, or dwarves. I'm good with both of those, and have come up with an idea for a lizardman pitch. I've always disliked dwarves, but they fit my style of a grinding defensive force. I just need to get models for them before they go away. Plus galorn's newest bases would look perfect with them

the norse seem a little glass cannonish in my opinion but i have never played the table top of bb so im only speculating from the video game stand point.

shold totally have two kroxigors on your lizard team cause that is great but im sure you will find a suitable team

Just throwing another idea out there... As you're building a pitch for BB, I take it that it's not just going to be a green rectangle with white lines on, and you will build things like stadiums (?), dug outs, advert boards, lights, etc... Maybe, just maybe... you could build it to fit in with the necromunda terrain (ruined but still functional) and then you could use it as a BB pitch AND as terrain for necromunda... It may be quite large relative to the table size for NM (I'm in the dark as to the relative sizes of table and pitch) but would be a nice centrepiece...

and there is the rules for the slaughter ball scenario in munda

@bama, definitely leaning towards lizardman, however your only allowed 1 kroxigor. My standard layout is 1 kroxigor, 6saurus, and 4 skinks ith 2 rerolls and. 2fan factor.
@dr. H. I might build a separate putsch for necromunda bloodbowl, could be used as a pit fighting arena as well. But to have one work for both just wont really work as bloodbowl is real fantasyish, and necromunda is real decrepit sci fi.

My real goal for the new pitch is o make the squares larger, so the big guys can actually fit.
Wife texted me she has an interview tomorrow for a position loser to home in one of the other prestigious school districts. Crossed fingers and prayers are welcome .

when I suggested the HQ scheme I didn´t up front thought about the diamond pattern, or checkers... or even tartan... more the basic colors as such... the composition would work very well with damsels...and the combination is as dark and grim as it gets...

and as for suggestions/motivations and or criticism... I always like to discuss... it is a major blessing/character flaw... I even like to take the opposite part of my own point of view for the fun of discussing even tho my other partner shares the same opinion like me... my grandma always got really p..sed off by this (my) attitude^^... and I just like how creative everyone is here... the amount of stuff I've learned here is not possible to sum up anymore...(I guess I am a secret parasite )

Got thinking of a necro pitch. If I do it the same size as the basic bloodbowl game, then we'll be okay since I could limit it to very few "big guys", such as the scaavies scaley.

This is what I'm thinking of so far. The floor will probably be plasteel (concrete), or I could try making square floor tiles like chelnov did in his Sisyphus compound. The only problem I have with that is there are so many squares to make and how I cut straight pieces doesn't always come out the same. These squares would also make it easier to determine where the players would go though. Decisions decisions. For the out of bounds area I was thinking about using the red rods dsteingass gave me as bubblers to circulate the sump.



The two vents I have one on each side of the pitch I figured could be drains for emptying the pit. I might just make one drain in the center of the field however.



I was thinking of putting these on the center of the sides of the pitch to be an announces booth and scoreboard. I have an idea for the scoreboard , not sure if I can pull it off or not, but it will be fun to try.

oooh this is off to a very good start i like how your thiking and a game of slaughter ball would be good for the lads in the sump

the red rods would be perfect for the boundaries of the field....! as for cutting straight and always dependable pieces out of any material theo, in my recent pages of my thread I showed my own way of cutting up cardboard and PC... I bet you could build your own cutting rig ...and make you own rulers like I did... after that... the sky is the limit!

Ah, similar to the Mantic Dreadball stadium where they play a future ball game

@shaso, I haven't played dreadball, I've seen too many bad cast figures from mantic, at least the resin ones. The local shop said they haven't had many people get into it.
@Vik, I liked your setup, but I have been working with a paper slicer that I had for free. It does a decent job, well as good as can be expected from someone who tries to get done quickly.

A quick half hour of slicing before getting interrupted for cleaning duties before the inlaws show up for dinner.

That and he couple off to the side are 253 of the 390 needed squares for the pitch. Might be able to get the rest done during Marks turns tonight. Might even enlist him in some building projects. Have also been talking about going to the local game shop when he comes over.

Mark read the rules for kings of war at work today, and thinks it'll be a good water and pretzel game. I don't drink anymore, gave that up long ago. I'll try o read them tonight or tomorrow to get a feel for the system. I heard its real simple...and free. Played a half of bloodbowl. I played dwarves and he played lizardmen. He was leading 1-0 when game was called due to wife interfearance. Looking forward to Saturday night for some more bloodbowl fun . Neither of the two local shops carried mantic except for dreadball, he would have bought a starter set if they did. Sent him to the warstore instead, we'll look at prices this weekend. I think I finally got him hooked

I have read the warpath rules, simpler, and somewhat more fluid than 40k is.

From my understanding there aren't a ton of special rules either, which is what i believe takes the fun out of 40k.

Also completed 400+ squares for the pitch.

You can see it well from the picture, but the two large bases have plasticard on the bottom of them and a hole drilled through the center. These will be mounted in the scoreboard and have numbers on them to track the score. The player will be able to spin these around to make the scoreboard "function". Trying to come up with a different idea for keeping track of the score, but might revert to this method as well.

measure twice cut once right? measured once cut 400 pieces. I will have to come up with another idea. Each piece is too large. I read 1 3/ 8", but it should have been 1 3/16".

Well it took me a while but I finally caught up. It was a fun read and can't wait for more.

I love the supply drops, esp. the Necro sets you picked up.

Although I would like to see some paint on the terrain. Give the airbrush a go. The AB is perfect for terrain. If you make a mistake... it still looks cool.
