Theo, man where did all this awesome come from? last time i checked we were building a sewer themed Blood bowl pitch? I have some time off and come back to ...... to...... MARINES ..... awesome MARINES! love the Scythes scheme and you're doing an excellent job on reproducing it on a lot of models in what appears to be a very short time have you thought about fluffing out the theme for them a bit more? perhaps add some skeletal bones along the bottom edges of the vehicles to represent the harvest of bodies they take in the name of the Emperor? could look cool!?

looking forward to blinking and seeing what you do next!

how big are these new made scythes? for shoulderpads probably too big... but for the banner they will look awesome!

@ Vik, The scythe I made will be for either the shield on the crusader, or for a rhino hatch, way too big for the shoulders.

I tried to freehand the symbol on the banner for my bad ass guy, but realized afterwards I did it sideways
Also kicking around the idea of changing my bad ass entry into a command squad. I think the emperors champion will have two scythes(which will just be smaller, almost like a Kama), and I'm thinking of having him using the kneeling legs set. Trying to think of others for the squad, and which commander to build.

Wow hold your horses I am totally primping out this guy not just the eyes, I am thinking about lighting up the capacitor coolers some how as well as around the torso leg section.
I want this guy to be a walking bloody lighthouse , the enemy will see him coming because he wants them to look and see death in the eye.
That's the only issue with kickstarters you think I will just add that and then that's cool and wow, before you know it you have remortgaged your house and sold 2 kids well the neighbours kids anyway never liked them.

Who needs rules I just want to build them one day.

@ldd, two words "fluorescent paint" , if I get more words then "black light" comes to mind and one of my favorite quotes from the Legend of the Five Rings universe "sometimes you have to step into darkness to see the light"

I think this kit was built to be lit up, never been a fan of it before but I have seen a few of these now and yours tipped the scale.

I have this vision from what I have no idea but blue light streaming from a giant robot machine human in shape, so,that's the inspiration now to recreat that image.

After seeing yours with the red eyes is a must for my Mortis, just gives the sense of malice and underlying evil got to love that.
Plus it is going to be leading my renegade traitor guards, I am just trying to figure a way of lighting his scythe ?

Haven't tried the kit from them, but they have a fiber optic kit, maybe you could run the wire the length of the scythe and have it glow there.

Yes I was thinking something along those lines but top or bottom of the scythe is the problem ? I was looking at the fibre optic cable earlier funny enough.

LEDs and plastic kits go together like Rod Hull and Emu (just don't go up on the roof...)

The Package arrived today. Very nice looking stuff indeed. THe conveyor belt needs a few minor tweaks , but the bases all look superb.

@shaso, I know it can look good, but I've got soooooooo much other stuff to build, and can't afford to buy an Ork hoard, still unemployed.

Minion dave kept nagging me for some paint. He's only half done, then the grub hub might see some work as well.

Also in the pic is the banner bearer for the bad ass competition, unfortunately my attempt at freehand failed and I painted the banner sideways.

@shaso, we are more than cogs, and our rivets ensures constant efficiency.

Hard to get much done right now, pent most of he day at the grandparents again. We has a sewer backup in the basement on Saturday. Luckily our basement is unfinished and I caught it right away and had a plumber there fixing it within an hour. No casualties from it, but the smell is still lingering. I've washed the floor twice with bleach since then, which changes the smell for a while, but then back to the nasty smell after that. I will try scrubbing it tonight or tomorrow.

The weather also has me down. Fall is here and that's when my allergies are the worst. I'm just so congested, but then I take a decongestant and then I'm tired . School is also slowing things down. Nothing major planned for tomorrow, so I will try and recharge my battery and get ready for the weekend. The weekend we have a parade/homecoming carnival that passes next to our house, they give out candy , and since we're one of the first streets they dump the candy like crazy. Each of my three kids had a full shopping bag of candy by the end of the parade. Afterwards they have rides and bounce houses too. M brother in law and his family along with other friends will be stopping by, so I might get to play bloodbowl ta boot.

Sunday our church has a bring a friend event, your all invited, free lunch afterwards at the local "incredible pizza". My kids should be well worn out after this weekend .

Well, work on the Heavy cruiser got done and pics are up if you are still awake.

Still awake, going to church in a few minutes but I'll stop n and looksie.

@nafarious, I will be returning to sewer doodie....I mean duty hopefully soon. Just wanted to start on a chapter theme.

Back from church and remembered picture day is tomorrow at their school , time to dig through their clothes to pull out nice outfits. Probably doing more laundry tonight.

Yeah, very busy man just when he was getting solid model and paint work going.

The busier I get he more I think I need to sit and accomplish something. I think we all need that break from reality from time to time.

I have known the feeling of fall allergies my whole life! Although being away from the dust from harvested soybeans and corn helps me tremendously. What cruelty, being born in farmland USA with those sensitivities.....

Being a hayfever sufferer autumn always heralds an end to my allergies. Hope it's not too bad for you both.

@dave, I never had allergies until I hit 18, then I couldn't work on our family farm anymore, just too painful.
@reality is that time when you are working and getting paid, something I haven't done in a while.

In the mean time not much going on, did paint up these two air ducts that I had envisioned a while back. Need to find some decals for them, or at least use some numbering to be the unit designation for mechanicus repairs.


Not sure what's next on the agenda, nothing is really calling me right now.
