Such leaps, the virus obviously did not mutate them to have wolf/dog or kangaroo like legs, and even greater muscle development modificiation apes don't leap that far, and they do leap better than humans.

Overall, sounds less a zombie movie and more a mutation movie World War M?

Into Darkness Khan made a huge super human jump, so if these mutants in the Z movie are so, then hand to hand is suicide

I vaguely remember an episode of the Tulare warrior where it was vampires vs zombies. The zombie guys said that zombies would be much more capable of strength feats because of the brain not registering feedback from pain. Basically if your body didn't care about itself then you would be stronger, faster, and be able to bite through harder materials because your mind wouldn't give a rip if you tore your bicep doing it.

Being a berserker, I can tell you, that wears the body parts out and eventually even the fastest zombies would be as feebly slow as I am now with a cane.

that is the argument i was also trying to bring forth... humans only need a fraction of their abilities and capacities due to lack of determination or will or hesitation...

Yeah Vik, they used that back on the old TV show The Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby. I have in the past done amazing things that freaked people out, things that today would leave me in even worse shape. Pulling a block of copper-bronze off a truck barehanded to the scale to find I manhandlea 103lbs deadweight like it was a sack of groceries shocked co-workers, my friends had trouble building up for a mental health assistant job, his weights were well set for the bench-press, I could shoulder lift and then do twistersizes witht he 200+lbs on the neck and shoulders and handle the barbell like it was an extension of myself, lift trees (small ones) out of the ground to clear for a garden, move large rocks and boulders alone, and now my musles are still there, but weaker than in that heady past, the joints are full of spurs so no leverage for right muscle use or I may be locked into a squat position.

Hopefully, I will win the VA case, of which my 800monthly paycheck would be nice again, but likely they will label me at 30-60% still 27 yrs back pay would be good recompense for the suffering they put me through by not informing me of the already there damage from my service time. But then again, it is the US gubbmint, they will hand billions to billionaires, and steal from the poor programs to do so, and I am no billionaire, so it will be fight all the way to the end.

Back in the day I remember working in a friends garden, his dad promised us pizza dinner or the help. I was carrying 300 lb loads while my friends were dragging 40-50 pounds. Even when I worked at Home Depot I would load 3 80 lb bags of concrete at a time. People didn't mess with me, I did enough damage to myself. The best show of muscle though was another friend of mine and myself moved a ford fiesta over a full parking space. We were both hurting, and took us about fifteen minutes, but our friends watched and laughed the whole time.

There's so much out here we humans can do that hasn't even been touched yet.

Speaking of mutants.....

Terminator librarian from space hulk, only about half way done...if that.

More hulk friends

Started just throwing basecoats. These hammernators will be one unit.

Hammernators, slow to hit, but when they do it HURTS!

Well, folks expect such feats from big guys like you Theo, over 6feet tall and all that...I was a shock as I was just 5ft 10inches tall be it at the time I also had a mass to counter-weight as I was quite hefty weight at the time, well over 400lbs and folks though it was all fat, surprise!

@shaso, there were plenty of people in school who thought it was just fat. My honors history teacher told me one day that he wanted me to go out for football, he could work off all my fat quick. The same week he had his guys doing weights in the gym during my gym class. I out did all of them . I was working at our family farm before and after school every day and all day Saturday. I had enough fat on me to hide the muscle, but I wasn't kidding myself.
@ruglud, scratch building takes imagination, right now mine is overwhelmed with school. That and the painting is working for me, usually I get frustrated, so I need to push through while I can.

Sorry, lots of family stuff today after the church pew removal, not making it into he forums for comments much. Will try and rectify that tomorrow between school stuff.

@nafarious, they are still really bare as I took all of those termis, 9 o them from bare plastic or old paint colors to that stage in 3 hours. The Libby is the most done with still another hour or two to go. The hammernators only have the base layer of yellow on them and the other hulk guys have the base yellow x2 and the black base done, nothing else.
@vik,I had shoulder pads for my old chapter done for them, but now I need to get new pads. Might get some custom ones for them, or just more GW, not sure. I think the ones with the leather traps might look good on them.

The church is getting new carpet this week, we took out the pews yesterday. We had great turnout with about 30 people helping from all age groups. After they do half he church today we will go back tonight and put half the pews back, then tomorrow evening the other half will go back if everything goes to plan. I hope I does as I have school Wednesday night and leave Thursday for NY.

Hopefully will have Time for painting after getting the kids on the bus this morning, then will have to get on schoolwork later for my Tuesday Friday class. Mor updates as they come

Edit: Almost there

@Nafarious, Yep, just had the yellow out and did a coat for all their bodies, with a second on the space hulk dudes. THen started doing black on all of them, but stopped after the hulk guys. then wanted to do the libby as he was using his jedi mind tricks on me. Now that he's done....finished for now, I did some touch ups after the pic was taken and saw the power cord to the axe wasn't done, I'll go back and finish the base coats on the others and then finish squads up.
@Dr. H, thanks, I'm nowhere near your level, but I can live with that. I just want a tabletop force to field.

The more you do, the better you get. There's so many hints and tips to improve painting you can't hope to try them all on one model. But if you try one new thing each time you pick up a paintbrush, you'll soon find that you improve more than you can imagine.

Once you start comparing your models to other people it can get quite depressing. So I don't do that, I compare to my previous models and try my best with each new model. So long as I improve, I'm happy (although it can get depressing when you start thinking about touching up the older models... ).

I'll stop rambling now...

I've always gotten compliments about my painting when people have seen my figs, but I always compare to the extraordinary models I've seen here and cry . I just haven't tried or even looked at how to OSL, or non metal metal. To me the biggest hurdle is getting a scheme that will carry over all the models. The one thing that's killing me here is how to denote the sergeants and veterans. I've tried the different colored helmets and stripes, but nothing is saying "yes this".

I experimented with osl once and it didn't go brilliantly, but I did learn a lot from it so next time I attempt it, it should work better.

I feel it's the little things that make the difference rather than the big techniques like that, and they're often quicker and easier to learn as well.

If it was me, I would have a look at how all the "official" chapters denote sergeants etc... and then borrow or adapt one to fit.

I have the how to paint space marines and the black library tabletop book on marines which both go into detail about markings, but it really comes down to how I want to do it. I think I'll go back to just black helmets, and no markings for rank. If anyone challenges it I will just say that they have all gone back to the basic pattern since they were decimated, and while reorganizing they are all taking a pay cut . Be nice if our government would do that.

Well half hour painting gave me "slicey mcdicey" the terminator.

Not complete, but darn close. Will revisit the power cords again.

Hey Theo, had a talk with my wife yesterday, subject: your active churchlife and how your church and all folks help to get the work done. We both doubted that such behavior is likely to be happening in any of our churches here... Seems every one is too drawn up in their own lives...we felt a bit ashamed...

As to your servant issue... Following your scheme options, I say go with red heads...it is a spot color you already use...and the way I remember, sergeants have constant red faces too

@Dave, I usually buy a couple at a time , hopefully they come from the same lot then, cause I've had variations when buying rom different stores months apart.
@vik, while I like the red, with using red lenses it makes it so hard to do the helmets that color as well. I even dislike the white helmet I did with the red stripe

As for the help at church, our pastor took photos of my kids helping out last night, very cute, and they had fun. Biblically you can't get into heaven through good works, Jesus paid the price for us already. There's nothing any one of us can do that God couldn't do, so our acts should only be out of love and obedience, not to be able to say "look at all the good I've done". I do it because I enjoy physical labor. I think sitting at a desk for 8hours straight would make me crazy, even painting I need breaks. It's also good to work along side people you share the same faith with, everyone is good friends, not just "hey I've seen that guy on Sunday". Great differences in age and ability were there too. We had my kids and another guys son there then there see people like Troy in his seventies who is still very active. He was crawling underneath the pews tightening the screws which were evil ungodly things .
