Apparently, by the end of 2013, we will be getting more Dark Elves. What more models and rules do you all want?

Have beastmasyter lords and hereos and more monsters to make it a viable list option.
Allow khainite troops or characters some sort of anti magic maybe via cauldron to make a themed list viable.
A model for helbron.
Increase hydra cost drop point cost of RBT and make them special, make black guard rare and single unit allowed but no size limit.
Make the special exec and black guard champs hereos.
Special khainite only banners.
It really is a very solid army with lots of options, they really could get by with just a few tweeks and themed list options ie black ark, khainite and beast themed.

Yeah more beastmaster units would be nice... I was thinking of adding more types of Dragons, like in the old codexes.

I'm with you on this! or at least some plastic black guard. one of my helmet-less finecrap minis was cast without a nose D:

Fantasy: Tomb Kings, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, Lizardmen, Daemons
40k: Daemon Hunters (GK,MT allied), Tallarn Armored Battle Group, Night Lords.
Firestorm Armada/Firestorm Planetfall: Dindrenzi

I'd like to see some slave based mechanics added in. I don't think they should get access to incredibly cheap blocks of them though.
Perhaps something like that old story in the 6th edition book. The one where they release a horde of them and crossbow them down to create additional terrain before the game.
Or a mechanic where you keep track of the number of models run down by each unit and the higher the tally goes the unit would impose an increasingly negative ld modifier on enemy units in BtB.

Not a bad mechanic to expand on. Perhaps if a Dark Elf unit wipe out a unit in combat, all enemy units that take a Panic Test do so at -1 Ld, to reflect the brutally terrifying way in which the Dark Elves have murdered or enslaved their comrades.
But, at the end of the day, I really don't want the Dark Elf book to change at all. Some more Khanite Charcters and units would be cool, as would be more Black Ark themed units. I guess I may as well wish for a massive monster/other kit, since that's what GW will probably bring out. I hope they don't do a Black Ark though (which isn't that unlikely), they're meant to be blooding floating castles, which aren't something you'd see on the table top. Or shouldn't.

Oh god, now that you mention it, I could see them making a massive model which represents just one tower of a Black Ark. One painful fluff passage later about how they detach the towers to aid in scouting coastal areas to raid and the latest facepalm of model concept work from GW would be complete.

Yeah, I mean, I could kinda see how it would work. It would perhaps be armed with a few Repeater Bolt Throwers and maybe could even transport a few models. It would be a tiny bit cool but mostly I'd just shake my head.
I do hope we get a Plastic Hydra kit though. I never managed to assemble my metal one and the finecast one, although better, still took a lot of time, glue and random bits of scenery to make it stable. I can see them doing a combined kit with something. Sea dragon or a helldrake, maybe?

A plastic Hydra would be a fantastic addition for sure, all the better if it was a dual kit. Perhaps a sea monster that enters play by a similar form to the "it came from below" mechanics already in use. With the use of underground rivers already established it would make sense for it to smash it's way to the surface from one such passage.
It might be interesting to have it weaken the longer it's on dry land and give it a way of leaving to return once more like the Mawloc in 40k.

Things we as Dark Elf players should expect:
Increase points cost for Hydras (I love them and even I know they are super undercosted)
Nerfed effectiveness and/or increased point cost for Pendant of Khaelith (also one of those things that's just a little too good for as much as I love it)
I'm also bracing for a change to the no-dice ceiling for spellcasting, but we'll see.
What I'd like to see:
Options for Hydras. Either in the form of upgrades like the Storm of Magic hydra entry or variant forms like the old old hydras used to be.
Probably a new monster or two, Dark Elves love their beasts, so I'm hoping for some kind of stubborn, high toughness "tanking" beast rather than another beatstick.
Not so much tactical, but I'd bet money on a Cauldron of Blood plastic kit, possibly with some other variant build ala the Hurircanum/Luminark.
Personally, I hope that we do not get slaves, as that doesn't really fit the Dark Elf playstyle imo.

Being represented as a unit would definitely not fit their playstyle and points costs at all. I would like to see the fact they take slaves being integrated into the gameplay in some way though.

I think if we're putting slaves in, they should be on the cauldron. Like a charge. You come with about 3/4 basic, and each time you use a buff, you kill a slave. Once you're out of slaves, you need to kill some stuff with the cauldron. OR you buy extra slaves in your list.
AND PLASTIC BLACK GUARD!
I wouldn't mind seeing executioners go up to I6. Like the rest of the combat special choices.

I would like to see dark elves get plastic models for all their special choices (as £20 for 5 finecast is ridiculous and the one thing that put me off collecting dark elves).
I would also like to see more beasts as the dark elves love their big gribbly monsters and also way to field an entirely khainite army without using a special character.
If they got all these things I would be hard pressed to resist getting an army of them.

Nice idea, but the cauldron buffs are almost certain to go to using PD like the Empire buff chariots.

The Empire chariots (war alter and both rare choices) all have a bound spell, and a buff. I wouldn't be so sure that it's going to be bound buffing only.

Absolutely. The Darkblade comic series inspired me to start Dark Elves so it's always been disappointing he isn't a more viable option. It would be cool if they included some rules to represent his extremely ruthless nature when dealing with both enemies and allies as well.

Er, what about that rule that makes him attack one of his allies on a D6 roll of 1-3 if he's not in BtB contact with an enemy?

That's only while possessed by Tz'arkan not quite what I was trying to reference. I was thinking more like a high risk high reward force multiplier mechanic. Like allowing a character and their unit to infiltrate but because the character is a rival of Malus' the Dark Elves player loses double the characters victory points if they finish the battle alive. Something more dynamic like that anyway.
