Over the past few months, I've been planning on a new army, my old army, the Necrons of Magma, was quite popular, and so I decided to stick with the shiny colours.

One of the main criticisms I got for that army was that was too uniform, and to a large extent I agree. The colours did blend as there was no variety, which is what I have now tried to resolve.

The first fist, Animus, the test model, is done, over the coming weeks I will be uploading the models I complete.

On the bases I am still undecided, so please, let me know if you have an idea!

Fantastic technique. I just personally care for the chosen color.

I just realised how blue my photos were.

The white balance was a bit off, I have now corrected this.

Great color scheme! Although, it is a little difficult to see detail from the zoomed out shot.

Amazing work. Perhaps base him on a mirror so that he can admire himself. lol. Or maybe clumps of pinkish crystals.

Lol, with the first pics, i thought you had painted little stars on the powerfist, he looked like he was gonna give me a hug rather than kill me

With the new pics though, it looks alot better. Impressive painting, i'd love to see more when your finished.

Nice paint job, but I'm not a big fan of unconventional colours for Dark Angels. I am horrendously and irrevocably biased. Keep up the great work!

It's technically extremely well done, but the color choices are questionable at best. I don't have a problem with the purple and blue/gray, but you've used far too many different colors for the details.

Nice technique, I like the smooth surfaces. The colours certainly are odd but Dark Angels are really CSM anyway so no problem there.

Are you saying that you don't want a purple and blue Sammael on a yellow and green jetbike??

Nice technique! Tell me of your tools of trade! Almost looks like a SW/GK crossover in terms of color scheme.

One thing I've noticed while painting my termies tho - painting the armor bit on the side of the hip differently than main body tends to make the model look fatter, visually exacerbating its non-true scale. The warm purple and the cool blue clashes a lot too adding to this effect. Sorry if I'm being too critical! (I'm an art history major...)

This guy is called The shooter, for obvious reasons.

The base will be resin, and will be dry brushed with bright red. What do you think?

I think that will look great. The red will tie in with the small bits of red on the model.

Fired.

I like to think of these DA as being in special issue camo, designed specifically for a pastel flower Death World.

I can't say that I've ever used conventional army colours.

Even with my previous three armies, I literally went through the book, deciding none of them suited my style, and then began my own.

Fluff wise, I guess you could say these guys raided a secret grey knight stash. This is only squad one however, and this squad is collectively referred to as the Overseers.

Great technique, as others have said, however...
Those colors, wow, what a combination. I can't ever see them working however well you can paint them. Call me a hopeless stick in the mud, but purple, blue, green, orange and yellow only belong together in one place, and that's in the sky after rain, or outside bars full of very friendly gentlemen

Ooh, those are certainly different. The armor certainly doesn't scream "Dark Angel", but the robe really ties them back into the chapter.

Awesome paint job, maybe they're not true DA but oh well they look good. One point from the modeling point of view, wolves and DA aren't the best of buddies any more so the wolf storm bolter jars a little, but thats a minor note

This, is the The Slasher, he is the sergeant, and he uses a bolter and a sword, but the bolter is not needed right now, as he just found another sword.

Unfortunately because his sword is finecast, it is stupid, and tends to bend a little, I still like it, nonetheless.

You can unwarp the sword by dipping it in hot water for a few seconds.
