https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/loudnraging/raging-heroes-the-toughest-girls-of-the-galaxy/posts/1090283?ref=backer_project_update

Hello backers!

We could not let this year end without wishing you all a Happy New Year!

As we are about to begin this new year, we've been taking time to review all the lessons learned from this Kickstarter, so that we can build on them and become stronger. We have great projects planned for 2015. And our goals are to continue giving you the high quality and great customer service that Raging Heroes stands for, while at the same time constraining the heavy design/sculpting delays we experienced on this first Kickstarter. Thanks to all of you, we have grown wiser in all of this (OK, we also got a few more grey hair, that is, those of us who still do have hair...). And we are now well set for an awesome year!

And yet, the month of December was marked for us with very sad news as we learned that our longtime partner Stewart Griffin had suddenly passed away before Christmas from a massive heart attack.

Stewart was heading Griffin Moulds, probably the best miniature metal foundry in the world.

We have been and continue to be deeply shaken by this news. Stewart and his work have been key in the process of establishing Raging Heroes as a quality brand. He was also one of the very few people whose collaboration made it possible for us to deliver such a massive project as the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter. If you own a Raging Heroes miniature, there is a good chance that it is partly Stewart's and his team’s work.

Today our thoughts are with his family, friends and coworkers.

We now know that Griffin Moulds will continue, and of course, so will our cooperation together. Our hearts go out to the team in this difficult time, and we know that you will join us in this.

Shipping Update

The first half of Wave 2 has already gone out. As we explained in previous Updates, 6 out of 10 troops were ready and began shipping on December 2.

The remaining 4 Troops were due on December 23rd or so. But the resin foundry ran out of resin because the supplier has been over 3 weeks late in delivering it! And the carrier literally sat on the resin barrels for over a week, while our poor resin caster spent Christmas Eve fruitlessly waiting for their delivery!

So the 4 remaining troops are currently being cast as we speak, and we expect the first ones in 8-10 days or so. As soon as we have them, we will finish shipping Wave 2. Drop Ships are going to be the last to be fulfilled in Wave 2, as some backers at each Drop Ship location have selected some of the remaining 4 troops.

However, we do have a few metal Heroines that are going to be switched over to Wave 3, as Griffin Moulds is currently reorganizing workloads.

After that, everything left will be promptly cast, so we continue to expect the entire KS to be delivered 8-10 weeks after Wave 2 is done. As we received new casts, we will be shipping continuously, whenever shipments can be completely fulfilled.

Deal #3

Also, a lot of backers elected to take advantage of Deal#3, and have received a bunch of TGG minis already.

Anybody still interested is welcome to do that, the deal is valid until January 5th.

Customer Service

Meanwhile, we do reply to all queries, although sometimes at a bit slower pace than normal, since we are short-staffed until January 5.

New Images

But our photo guy is back in, so here's a few snaps of the latest 3D printed masters before they left for production. Blow you'll find Nepharyaa, Baba Yaga, plus some Motorbikes and Artillery.

*snip*

Your images + Next Update

We'll post a new Update as soon as we receive the remaining 4 troops. And in that one, we'll also include a new concept for the Sisters of Eternal Mercy!

Meanwhile, have you've been painting and/or gaming with the TGG? If yes, we'd love to see your photos, either of your paint jobs, or to see the girls in action! Send them with us at comlink @ ragingheroes.com (just remove the spaces). We look forward to sharing the fun with you!

6 foot underwater

I don't recall seeing a back shot of her. Looking at that pic I'd hazard a guess that the majority of the tentacles are moulded on to her back - there looks to be a separate piece for the ends that joins the main body around foot height. Having said that it does appear that there is a gap between cloak and tentacles at the point where the cloak folds in, so that may be a sign that there's a distinct back-piece.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

God damnit.

My first instinct was to be annoyed and ask "which bloody metal heroines, which you claimed would all be in wave 1, are now going to be part of wave 3?". Then it occurred to me it would be a bit callous to have a go considering the situation. Now I feel a bit annoyed because I'm just cynical enough that the first thing that popped into my head after that was that might be exactly the reaction they were hoping for by sharing both those bits of information at once, and I don't know whether I should be angry or feel a bit guilty for thinking so little of them.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

As much as I laugh at these guys, I'm so buying that priestess miniature when it's finally released. It's definitely their best work. Well, maybe second to the manticore.

Oh look, an update that isn't five thousand words long and doesn't really tell us anything.

However, I call bull gak on this line:
Drop Ships are going to be the last to be fulfilled in Wave 2, as some backers at each Drop Ship location have selected some of the remaining 4 troops.

I know for a fact that no one sharing a drop ship with me ordered any of the four missing troops. It's possibly the case elsewhere.

Nepharya looks good, though she also looks like she'd be a pain to cast and have the mould survive for any length of time without either changes, loss in quality/detail, or cutting her into a hundred pieces for casting.

Figure this has already been asked before, but 271 pages is a lot to go through to find the answer. What's the scale like on these models for those who have seen them in person? They seem to have heroic scale proportion, but is it 30mm or 28mm? Do they hold up well against 40k Guardsmen or do they look like Amazons? I've been debating picking up a few of these minis off the Raging Heroes site.

Hmmm, she does look a bit tall. Is this consistent with the other ones who have slightly beefier proportions? I was specifically thinking about getting this model. I think she looks brilliant, but I don't want her to tower over the rest of my army; at least not too much.

She's just fine, I got her myself and like the triplets she's a bit leggy, not not a giant.

Plus, unlike the triplets she doesn't have her legs so far akimbo that you're going to have trouble fitting her onto a regular round slotta base.

Yeah, I also think that the triplet models' poses really accentuate the fact that they're taller. Her legs are more together and disguised by the skulls on the base, so there's not this massive bowlegged pose accentuating her height and long legs. I honestly hated the triplet models, but a lot of these new girls they're putting out are really great. I feel like they toned down the fan service a bit, which makes for more appealing miniatures; at least for me.

Hmmm, it seems that the models are pretty variable as far as height goes. For example, the psyker chick looks huge; she's as tall as a SM with her knees bent. But the model I'm interested in does look like she's the perfect size from that pic, so I'll definitely be picking her up. I also see a few others that I'm happy to see are scaled close enough for my liking. Thanks for posting this pic!

Definitely want to get that model, especially since any scale issues can be hand waved with "bionic implants". Not overly fond of the cleavage, but it's still a great model.

Yeah, depending on the price I may order three. Hopefully I can find a way to make some variation though.

I finally got my sampler - a Jailbirds command squad.

The miniatures seem to have been cast properly, though they are tiny. There's a minigun in there that I'd love to use as a heavy weapon, but it's too small to pass as one.

Throwing in some coasters with the minis would have been nice if not for the fething mascots. My mum might like the cat one, but the others are going in the trash.

Wait. You're going to trash that hippo? Nooooooooooooo.

I'll pay for the shipping if you'll send it this way.

Just so it's clear, I'm talking about cardboard coasters, not actual miniatures. Unless the prices have gone up since last time, it will cost around 2 USD to post them to the United States. If that still interests you, PM me, and I'll email you photos of the two you'd be getting and continue on from there.
