I've read and heard a lot of people say stuff like, "Space Marines are the best to play!" or "Necrons all the way!" or "Orks rule!"
But you play those armies, so your going to show some pride in your army. What about an army you don't play? Out of all the games some of you have played, who was the hardest to deal with? or Who just, flat out, had some better models?
I'm just curious to hear different opinions on a race that people don't play.

I have a Space Marine Army and a Tau Army. Watching some Battle Reports, I like the Necrons. The whole "Living metal" and "Resurrection" if procs can be deadly for a lot of enemies. Also kinda like the fact of Metal zombies if you will.

Really like the chaos marines - shame my friend plays them since it would feel strange to statt a chaos army

I'd have to say Daemons. Their models are just so out there.

I guess Orks or Tyranids. I love the fluff and the concepts behind both races, but just can't work up enough enthusiasm for the available model ranges to collect either of them.

I honestly get more excited when I know I'm about to play against an Ork army more than any other. Some of the coolest looking models in my opinion, and a blast to play against. There's a certain excitement I get when I'm facing Orks. The unpredictability of everything is awesome.

I would love to play sisters, but its so freaking expensive.

So I'm Tau.

Totally different, I know. but SoB is the only interesting imperial army.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Right now, I would say Tau. I've been helping a buddy get his Tau army started and I have been impressed with all it can do.

Orks and SoB. Orks because orks, they have the best fluff. SoB, well, as BoomWolf said, the only interesting imperial army.

As I own, SM, SW, BA, GK, Tau, CSM, Orks, BT, IG, DA...

I find Necrons the most interesting... love their fluff, dominate gameplay, and the aesthetics.

I play Necrons and just started a small force of GK to see how the other side works.

But Tyranids are the army that I'd be interested in.

I play SW, Flesh Tearers, and CSM, but I love the Orks and Dark Eldar. I think the Orks just have a blast in whatever they do, and I like that. The Dark Eldar are the indulgent and partying versions of the stuffy Eldar and you don't see them very often, so they're always a challenge with some tricks up their sleeve.

Orks, without a doubt.

I never made a 40K Ork army because I already had Fantasy Orcs. Now my fantasy models have lain untouched for over a decade, and instead I look forlornly at every ridiculously awesomely converted Ork army, but know that there is no way that I'd ever toss the money into a brand new 40K army.

Nor would I ever actually get around to building every ridiculously awesome Ork concept model that I'd come up with, since I can't even get around to finishing my ridiculously awesome Space Marine Battle Company, even though I actually have nearly all the models (unassembled) that I need already.

Dark Eldar have a fantastic model range. I don't know a whole lot about their codex viability, but man. Those models are superb.

Sisters of Battle. I was so happy when I heard that 6th edition would include allies, because I was going to ally some Sisters of Battle into my Black Templars and have a heretic-burning party. Then Games Workshop decided Templars and Sisters hate eachother more than Sisters and Space Wolves.

IG ABG. So many tanks it feths up your day left and right. And I run a marine-heavy, dread-heavy Vulkan list. They laugh and blow me to pieces with their 48" AP3 template weapons.

Wow... this is actually a very hard question. I have at least some desire to collect pretty much every army that isn't imperial or orks.

After writing a response about 5 times and erasing it I finally decided it has to be Tyranids. Love their fluff, love their models to pieces. So many more armies I like, but the bugs take it.

I know it is the kind of topic that gets hotly contested, but when you really think about it, it makes sense.

While thematically the Templars and Sisters are similar (angry religious crusaders), their ideas are fundamentally different. Basically, two sides of the same coin. And the Protestants and Catholics can show you just how much angry can happen between two sides that seem like they should be on the same team.

There has been fluff in the past teaming the two sides up, but a lot of it was just poorly written and poorly considered, done by authors who just said "Oh hai! You're religious, and I'm religious, let's be on the same team!" Obviously GW has decided to go in a different direction. Which, again, makes sense, considering that the Templars would consider the Sisters to be misguided, foolish busybodies, and the Sisters would consider the Templars to be rule-breaking near-heretics.
