The new member has a rather peculiar pose and the face has some detailed removed obviously for a purpose
Loving the RT captain and revolver with added beads has a nice SP vibe to it, which will pull this group together well.
As for the Mech pilot wow all the added extra SP flare is great especially the targeting device which reminds me of a cross between a monocle and a magnifying glass which is so SP
Although I have to say not a fan of the side arm does not reflect the vibe and seems a little out of place, also it looks to thin in comparison and tidy I see a larger revolver type hand gun in a large leather holster strapped to the leg myself.

- The Crewman will make sense shortly, once some bits arrive
- Dammit, as soon as I read your comment about the holstered sidearm I could see what you meant, and now I can't un-see it... I've found a WW2 holster from a German half-track kit I bought cheap for basing bits, it's more steampunkish I think - pics tomorrow if I achieve anything worthy of pics

Thanks LDD - holster strap made (forgot to take a pic)
Unfortunately, the targeting array as it was pictured is no longer - I dropped her and the array broke into bits ;( lots of bits... and the monocle went into the Carpet Of No Return...
So, moved onto something else for a bit, or back to something else, really - the Samurai!
Couldn't seem to make clockwork bionics work last time.
This time round - a cut down SM backpack (just the vents, really), some mad wire bending, three clock cogs and a lot of swearing later...
Bad photo, and that hakama is an absolute mess, time to liquid greenstuff it and sand it back to smooth!

NO!!!!!! I can't believe the targeting system is no more I bow my head for the fallen.
However on the plus side I love the new clockwork pack that is some clever arranging the thing I really like is the way it has been fitted together and the cogs actually interlock good job indeed

Rebuild of the targeting array - now with additional hinge system to allow it to follow head rotation - awkward, I'll admit, but that's steampunk for you!:
And note the holster bracket (brass strip) in place for the shotgun pistol:
Been struggling for a bit with how to do the Samurai's clockwork-assisted exo-hydraulics, finally today made some progress:
Basic set-up of exo-hydraulics in place:
Detailing of the exo-hydraulics, some sculpting of a collar and sleeves, and sculpting of hair to come...

The holster bracket is a nice and simple touch very fitting, the target monocle seems longer or is it just me either way glad to see it back and in its rightful place
I think you need to add something to the feet maybe not mechanical though, something more decorative with a SP vibe as they seem a little to clean and modern.
Maybe some kind of riveted plate to the toe section, nothing to major but something to pull I together a bit more, maybe even a large cog wrapped around the shin plate
The samurai has really grown on me I always loved the swords then you added the cog pack, now with the exo skeleton coming together it just draws me in more so.
I did wonder if you would go further down the arms with the assisting hydraulics mechanics, but looking at the picture maybe leaving the lower arm wrist to natural movement would be a better call, after all she is samurai and has natural fighting skills.
What kind of collar are you employing for this by the way, I only ask as I am wondering how it would fit around the sculpt ?
Great work as always and such amazing detail, looking forward to the next update

- Yes, the targeting monocle is longer in this third round for no real reason
- Feet, more detail... mmm, ok... I like the idea of a rivet plate, going to leave that greave uncluttered though to do some heraldry free-hand, along the lines of the Knights
- Exactly my thoughts with the length of the exo-hydraulics - more of a power-assist system really
- The clockwork system on her is a steampunk version of the Elysium's exo-suit and more recently the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare suits
- The collar will be very small just a little detail edge really - also sculpting a series of sleeves within sleeves - it'll make more sense when it's done
After looking at the pics of the exo-hydraulics for a bit I decided to go a tad smaller with the arm end...
So more bending and some soldering and filing later, here's the new ones, with the older ones for size comparison - that ][ plate is a centimetre long:
Temp fitting - note under-sleeve sculpting:
Clockwork backpack detail - arm ends of the exo-hydraulics will be embedded deeper into the armoured wrist-guard - but won't be done until after sleeve layers are complete (for obvious access reasons):
Thanks for comments and critiques - don't worry, I can take it

- Hopefully the pics below will clear up the sleeve-in-sleeve intention.
Been absent a little while - cut my thumb down to the bone while trying to separate a head from a Chaos cultist - there was blood for the Blood God, let me tell you!
Re-did the first layer of sleeve on the Samurai (just before I cut my thumb):
Then tonight did the second of three sleeve layers (needs some sanding to clean it up):
Also finished the hair on the Samurai - when it's dry I'll scribe more detail into it, then the headband will get a sand and detailing:
Had a request as to how far the Rogue Trader Crewman had progressed and the answer is not much:
The problem is the new Admech models are just a treasure trove of steampunkish conversion parts - I had intended to just use those Empire pistolier arms for the Crewman and trick up the flintlocks.
However, now I'm awaiting the arrival of a box of Skitarii Rangers (and now Ruststalkers as well ) so I can get to converting some of that beautiful weaponry for use by the Crewman.
... And I just know I'll be re-building the Sniper's weapon once I see those long rifles ...
The Ruststalker bits may also solve the problem I've been having trying to build secondary waldo-arms for the Mechsuit - so far everything has looked too clunky.
Until next time - Sayonara!

I was right about the selves after all I like the way things are progressing it is giving more depth to the desired inspiration of the samurai.
The head is coming together and even from this early stage it is taking form, the rouge trader crewman is well still pretty much as is but still liking it.
As for the thumb slash be more careful and get an appropriate adult to assist I have been there mate and it is an absolute bitch I always reach for the trusty superglue to hold it together well once you get the blood to slow that is.
As for the new Admech models yes very tempting indeed but can I really purchase these just to use for conversions ............... Yes but don't tell the misses

- Glad you like the sleeves, they're actually really difficult to sculpt
- I'm liking her head more and more, after I scribe some hair into the hair I'll spray her with white primer to get a good look at her

No thank you I like your mix of concepts and the move away for typical GW models, as for the sleeves your doing a fine job of it so no worries there
As for the head you seem to have a good vision in your mind as to where you want this to go, so looking forward to the completed piece to see how it looks.
Simple mistake are made in a rush of creativity and basic rules forgotten, hence slashed fingers and a sacrifice to the blood god
Good old battle training comes in handy although I learnt the super glue trick from a carpet fitter, apparently an occupational hazard when cutting carpets
Ha my misses refers to it as plastic crap although she is quite forgiving, she even spent time waiting for me in the car park at events so can't complain.
I am just a little creativity when it comes to the cost of said hobby

Thanks Rawson!
Been a little absent due to being deployed for the past 3 weeks, and about to be again for 15 weeks...
Also, after I cut my left thumb 2 weeks gone, last week (this time at work) my right thumb suffered an even worse cut, this time on the pad, and it's still healing as fragments of metal shavings ooze outward... so no updates.
However, I do need to get this off my chest: GW pricing in Australia has now exceeded all previous ridiculousness...
Here are some figures, based on the exchange rates for today 26 April, for the new Assassinorum: Execution Force game
$210 for Aus, 75GPB in UK (equivalent to approx $145 Aus) and $125 USD (equivalent to approx $160 Aus).
I definitely won't be buying this game, just for 4 models.
Cheers!

Yes, folks: he's back!
A small time period between now and next deployment means some minor hobby time, so let's get cracking!
As many Inq modellers have shown, the new Admech parts are just a treasure trove for converters!
Decided to jump right in and get some half-completed works done, started on Ratty here (blue-tacked in place - GS next update):
and here:
And revamped the Sniper's weapon a little, with a new baffle - still deciding if she needs a complete weapon changeout for one of the Admech rifles...
Did some more work on the Rogue Trader Captain, nothing photo-worthy yet, and will tackle the Samurai in the coming days...
Until then, thanks for looking!
