So, people seem to like the idea of female Space Marines. What do you all think about Male Sisters of Battle?

Maybe...whatever restores your faith in humanity.

Although to be fair the current minis could probably pass for guys with wigs if you wanted to call them that.

In the fluff, they're all female to exploit a loophole in Imperial law, so it's not likely at all.

Basically sums up my thoughts.

Well, other than 'lol'. But sure. I'm in favour of an open and accepting Imperium. Lets let all the T-girls join up with the Sororitas too - it's only fair and reasonable, after all.

Frateris Templar.

They're heretical now, after Vandire's little hissy fit caused the Imperium to reject all Ecclesiarchal military force other htan the Sororitas.

If only the ecclesiarchy didn't get more or less closer than horus at overthrowing the imperium as established, then they probably would still have their male soldiers.

The vagaries of states within states, I suppose.

That said, the ecclesiarchy still has male priests with eviscerators that follow guard companies and regiments around, so... whatever.

The Frateris Militia isn't a professional, standing army, as that wouldn't be allowed. But it certainly exists.

The SoB exist because of a loophole in Imperial Law.

After the Vandire rebellion, the Ministorum was prohibited from keeping men at arms. The loophole being the word "men"

And so, the Ministorum has had female soldiers ever since. While also keeping the numbers down to a level where they don't attract too much attention. You don't want dozens of marine chapters showing up on Terra again and putting bolters to your head.

eeeeeeeeh no. Now if we are talking throwing in militias of zealot men and women as a cultist like group for a new SoB army (which totally wouldn't be then used to diversify an IG regiment so not all of the models are dudes granted knowing GW the faces would all look terrible anyway!)? Awwww yeah!

Well, seeing as SoB are basically female Space marines (as far as the game on the tabletop goes, anyway), then in reverse, Space Marines are male SoB. Simple. Field them side by side.

If you want to field dudes in power armor who are not Marines, Inquisitors tend to have some lying around. You could make a counts-as force, playing them as Sisters.

From a fluff perspective, well, that's been explained pretty handily already in this thread

I think trhat after long service as a battle sister there is always the possibilty one could want to undergo a sex change in order to express who they really are after years of internal conflict, much like space marines who want to become women through similar opperations.

If the armour the SoB wears has had bewbs added, what would need to be done for male SoBs? Fluffy boas? Sequins?

It could be that a candidate for Space Marine rejected the organ implants, but still wanted to fight in powered armour.
