Wow, the knight is stunning

Also, are you planning on using these guys in 40k or 30k? If so, what army are you planning on using them as?

Cheers mate I'm really happy with him too.

I want to be able to run them in both . . . In 40k as chaos, so I can use the forgefiend rules. And in 30k hopefully they expand the mechanicums own rules abit more.

If they did it as a 40k army too i'd be all over that!

I've always wanted a Admech army but I know that I don't have nearly the modeling skills for it, but yours look fantastic mate.

Don't know if it's still relevant but I found a little bit of info about the color of Tyranid blood in the Xenology book.

Spoiler:

And here are some pictures of Tyranid anatomy-

I'm definitely subscribing, keep up the good work mate!

Thanks for such a comprehensive reply mate. Its not representing a knight in the traditional sense, personally I think they'd be bigger, almost the size of the wraithknight.

I'm planning on running them in a thallank castellex block for HH, so they might represent the heavy robots from the maniples ADB describes in "First heretic".

I thought the bulbous area under the sensor head could be a place to house the servitor pilot, like a dreadnaught, but with less autonomy, hence the BS3. Just an idea.

They're bigger, but actually not that big - if you assume that a normal human model is roughly 6' tall, you only need to add an extra inch or two to a Dreadknight: assume 28mm is approximately = to 6', convert to metres to find approx 1.83m - most modern description of Knights is, I believe, in Mechanicum, which lists them at roughly 9m tall - 9/1.83 = 4.92 rounded. So, 28x4.92 = 138mm rounded, which converted is approx 5.4 inches. Given how inaccurate GW scales are, anywhere from normal Dreadknight sized up to Riptide sized seems like a fair range for Knights to me, especially given the in-universe excuse of different "patterns" of Knight being manufactured by different Forgeworlds. I think you'd be perfectly justified in thinking of your awesome model as a "proper Knight" if you want to

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

You could always use one of these:

Thats what I'm going to use in my Admech as a Crusader class Knight or Errant class Knight once the arm kits come out. Thats my Riptide he's standing next to btw.

It is a beautiful model, but it just doesn't suit the 40k aesthetic for me, which it shouldn't since it was designed for an entirely different game and universe.

Thats the 28mm one? if I could get one to convert to my own purposes I'm sure I could match it to what I think a knight should look like.

Things I would change.

The waist, replace it with a solid tub, maybe a ball joint.
The feet, replave with a 3 toed version of the reaver foot, or something like the dreadknight.
The guns, I know its ridiculous, but they're too big! keepthe mechanism and breech, replace the barrels. Maybe get a Fw mars pattern plasma gun and convert it to fit.
Bigger power plant.
more cables
Shoulder armour.
Do somthing to the head.
Rivets

But it is a cool model

I have no idea how this happened, but it was too cool not to share.

I was on google looking at dinosaur pics because of the leaked Lizardmen shots, and a notification popped up in my google account, and this was in there. Apparently google stitched together a gif for me from my last upload.
If this is the new evil empire, I for one welcome our new google overlords.

Nice work on the Knight! After a couple of projects with Dreadknight legs, I have found that if you take off the pipes extending up and back from the ankles, it helps remove that 'Dreadknight feel', and it is a clean cut.

More inspiration for you, here. I, too, used the Dark Vengence cultists as my servitor horde.

Thanks Brian I did actually take the pipes off, just so i could bend the legs, but you're right its gives them a sleeker look, Your admech cultists look great, and the ordinatus is IMMENSE!

Hello again, more ad mech procrastination.

Finished the 2nd Magos, this guy will be used as a sorcerer in the current list, just to get some magic potential to the list, but also because puppetmastering a vehicle is so much fun

The base model is the plastic necromancer from WHFB, and a 4th ed necron wraith tail. the axe head is from a dwarf i think, which I carved the cog detail into. The head is obviously a necron warrior, and so it the third arm.

I might add some rivets to the arm, just to remove it from the necron shape a bit. Mechandrite tentacles are guitar wire bent with pliers.

The other thing I've been tinkering with is a gun servitor. Not exactly sure what I'll be using him for at this point, but mostly is just been an exercise is seeing if I can get the 1/48th scale kettenkrad to fit the 40k aesthetic.

More rivets and details to add obviously. Most of the time I see scale kits turned into 40k models and shudder. The weapon isn't fixed, and so could be changed at this point for any of the imperial guard heavy weapons. I hope I can make something decent out of this guy, either way let me know what you think I should add.

Thanks for looking.

maybe a bit of green stuff cloak covering part of the necron arm with some banding or rivets as you say further down, excellent

These are some really excellent conversions! I'm still mostly working with GS in my conversions but I'd love to eventually reach your level of work

One suggestion I might add; When sculpting cloth, especially on a dynamic figure, be sure to remain consistent with the direction it is flowing/fluttering/falling in.
Spoiler:

Here I find it a little unusual to have the cloth of the model flowing away from body (as if he is rising up and away) when the green stuff cloth is flowing downward (as if he is motionless)

Not being picky and still really like the model but I thought it was worth mentioning

Are those guitar strings you use? I've seen loads of people use similar things for modelling but I have never confirmed with anyone what they actually are.

Wow, thankyou all so much.

Noodles: good idea, ill add rivets, and see what a clothe covering looks like too.

Xendrac: good point, not too hard to add some more, ill get on that too.

Reeno: they are indeed, e string I think? It was given to me by an ex housemate. Steel string, you need good clippers and pliers to bend it to shape, needle nose pliers are best.

Great model. I agree with Xendrac though, it'd work better if the movement was all in one direction - maybe the two little mechandrite/cables coming from underneath him could be moving in the same direction as the sleeves?

Bruticus, I tried it, and it worked a treat, thanks. You'll have to wait til hes painted to see pics though, Its not really worth taking pics of

More procrastination = more ad mech

Since the last time I showed these guy I've added rivets to the side skirts, a housing around the servitor pilot/driver, a home made gunsight, and a SM search light. And last but not least the brains of the operation, a second servitor from the storm raven.

The legs came from another cultist, just cut off above the belt line, and sandwiched the two parts together, simple really. The guitar string umbilical is to pass on targeting information and directions to the tractor unit, I may add another couple of wires between the two, it looks a bit plain at the moment.

The final gun position will be where the walking servitor is looking, as if the bionic eye has the weapon slaved to it.

I'm a bit happier with how the carriage "sits" in the 40k aesthetic now, but if there is anything you can think that would make it better please let me know.

Thanks for looking in.

I like it. Too much might spoil the utilitarian look of it. If you 'had' to add something, maybe a gear/cog symbol on the side skirts to break up the open space there.

Yodhrin: yeah there are! Only a head torso and left arm, but they exist.
To be honest I'm not. Massive fan of it, there's too much going on in one model, and the servo skull shower cap is just dumb. So is the size of te claw on a man sized model. I will be getting some castellexes though
