Yeah multiply that list across 9 or 10 armies and you have my list and the clear reason why I will not take part in this challange. Even my longest established army, my khorne dedicated chaos marines which as a couple thousand points fully painted, still has had enough new stuff added to it to require a lot of painting time. Ack...I just enjoy modelling much more than painting.

Well I have been looking at this thread for a while but wanted to wait until I bought all the Warhammer Fantasy stuff for my first army.

So I did paint my full space marine army which was my first army ever before playing a single game. I felt I would be a joke if I went to the local game store and had primed or just grey models on the table.....I WAS WRONG! Half the people had half painted armies but I still won't bring anything unpainted to the table. Why buy models for an army if they are just grey? Takes away from the game in my opinion haha

Out of curiosity, is anyone else at the verge of breaking your promise after all the C:SM leaks? I'm so very tempted to zog off my current army and "Jump on the bandwagon" for the first time after seeing those leaks, hence buying more miniatures.

I broke but not because of the new SM stuff. I had an opportunity to pickup about $560 worth of ork stuff for $275. Could not pass that up. I did not include the ork stuff I had been collecting in my original pledge. I am finishing my SM before I begin on the orks. So I kind of only half broke.

I'm kinda taking the opposite approach and using it as my carrot for getting stuff done. Though I did disclaim that I might jump ship and then get back on the wagon for the SM codex new releases... hopefully I stay strong

You can weep if 25 years from now your mini collection is still that small.

As for your Cessna, don't get me started on all the other games worths of minis I have to paint, the various 1/35 scale WW2 dioramas I have in planning and process, etc., etc., etc....

So I've partially bottled it.

I will get my Deathwing painted before succumbing to the Tau.
I have five Terminators left, and the bone colour is already done on them. So...

Me a few weeks back wrote: 14 Terminators 5 Terminators left, main part done.
Belial Painted.
TDA Librarian Done, was actually quite enjoyable, despite being 1st wave finecast.
Dreadnought Done ages ago, but figured I'd list it here as it's part of the army.

Then it'll be onto the fun of Fire warriors and Crisis suits.

And the Deathwing is done Group shot when I'm on tomorrow to prove it.

Awesome. RL has slowed the painting process for me, but at least I'm not buying to satisfy the hobby itch instead.

I'm trying to get everything outstanding done in time for the new codex to hit as I know I'll want the rumoured 'nids, orks and guard codexes that are meant to be coming over the next ~8 months and I have nearly as big piles to do of those as well that I will try and repeat the process for.

Nearly there with that lot, just got another coat of red, some tidy up, washes and highlights to do. All those marines I built from my bits box :s

That still leaves another 70 marines, mostly metal assault marines, that need stripping and painting before the new stuff hits, bleugh.

I know I'll want another 40 or 50 marines when the new boxes hit to fill in a few gaps in my chapter, plus 30 HH terminators from FW to round out my termies to 100. Centurions I want six of each type but I'm on the look out for alternatives. Tanks I'm not so sure what I'm getting, lack of interceptor puts me off, prefer my quad guns for the points.

The painting never ends when you make it worse for yourself. :(
