I reckon we are easy in for the new casters, but it'll be Magnus/Ret that'll be hard to reach. But who knows, there could be an absolute motza of pledges at the end, and we'll get the replay or something.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I'm reckoning that Magnus is an easy in, Ret will be the question mark at the end. However, I reckon they'll reach it, even if only with post-KS pledges on Paypal.

Also, New stuff:

Minis! THATS what would get us a ton of new money coming in. They seem to have done everything BUT that.

You mean aside from the ones they announced before even opening the KS?

Because if they spent all their time designing and producing any more new minis for the kickstarter, there wouldn't be anything left for making the game

Plus, it takes time to design up and show off a mini, and as motyak's comment shows, many people are reluctant to put too much money towards concepts as opposed to complete models. Since they're still going hard just to get the Junior casters out in time, they aren't going to be able to feasibly put out any other new miniatures in the time frame, unless they went for the most basic and hurried of concept sketches - and I don't foresee them doing that.

I don't buy that. It all boils down to planning- all of that should be done before the KS started. If the KS didn't do well enough to unveil them, then make them general release later on and you've already set yourself up for profit.

@Madder

My comment was saying I didn't want to pay $350 for a print thing, I pledged for all the models before I saw anything ha. So I'm probably not the best example

Ah, I see! Sorry, I read Print and my mind processed it as meaning the 3d model of Kovnik Smarmy Right, got you now.

I don't think it works like you think it works. If PP wanted to just make money off selling minis, they would, well, just make money off selling minis. They don't need kickstarter to do that - they're in the business already, and they could just pass that money along to WMD to fund the game (as they're already funding a fair chunk of it anyway, I understand). Making Kickstater Exclusives, meanwhile, you limit yourself to a certain number of customers - 12k customers, while perhaps only a quarter or less will want any particular miniature, which means thin profits to go towards producing the game BUT drives the kickstarter totals higher, meaning they have to fulfill more stretch goals on thinner funds.

I know the alternate Warcaster mods was mentioned earlier in the thread, and more than one person was excited about having something more tangible to pledge toward, but there was a rumorkiller (buzzkiller) post yesterday on the PP forums about it:

PPS_Simom wrote:Hey guys, I think there's some confusion. To clarify: those warcaster mods are digital items, not miniatures.

http://privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?168105-OFFICIAL-WARMACHINE-Tactics-now-on-Kickstarter&p=2188013&viewfull=1#post2188013

While I suspected they were digital when announced, I had hopes of more TT game stuff coming before the end. I want to spend money toward getting more funded (like the Merc battlegroups), but I don't want to just do it to sell off the JR's I will never use.

Latest update: there will be a huge spike at the close as they add the Paypal pledges(can't be done in real time). This spike WILL count towards stretch goals. So we won't know exactly what we get even at the moment it closes on KS itself.

It's not going to be that huge of a spike - they revealed yesterday that the paypal pledges so far were only around $4k. Given how far apart the stretch goals are in the KS - I don't see the paypal pledges being enough to bump us to the next one unless we JUST fall short of one.

And yeah - HUGE bummer about the warcaster mod kits. Was really looking forward to those, and would have been a big boost.

It's funny - we're still steadily picking up a good number of backers every day(we're past what I thought we'd top out at) but the total barely budges because everyone is only in for ~$50 due to a lack of real things to pledge for.

The paintings are a neat idea - but not many people are going to shell out that kind of cash for one. Had they been $10-15 posters I think they would have gotten more money overall.

Does that print look really odd to anyone else? It looks like they either photoshopped in actual minis, or someone painted a picture of minis. Like painting a picture of action figures, rather than people... it just seems "off" compared to all the other ones.

Well the Cryx model is a bit of a miss I reckon, but since I don't collect the army (so I won't be using him on the table) it isn't that big of a kick in the nuts. I pity Cryx players though. My KS Journeyman (Cygnar) came out amazing, and I just can't see the same level of awesome in the Cryx one

Hoping that the general release models for all of them look more like the art.

I dunno, I reckon the Tristan model is far better than his art. And the other two are on par with it. But as with all models, we'll get a lot of different opinions

Renders tend to look crummy compared to their physical counterparts.

I bet if we had seen the render for the Cygnar Journeyman that it would have looked fairly "Bleh" as well.

He's the one I've been most disappointed by. I just don't like action poses for models like him that will most likely end up being in the backfield. Aiakos isn't bad, I just wish his arm was posed differently (which may be an option on the actual model. Right now, it looks like he's getting ready to flip the bird with his big blade.

Project Update #30: WARCASTERS OF APOTHEOSIS (AND MORE) UNLOCKED!
Posted by Privateer Press InteractiveLike
Thanks to you and the USTOPPABLE community of over 14,550 backers that have come together to support WARMACHINE: Tactics, we have smashed through yet another stretch goal! This time, we unlock the warcasters of Apotheosis!
Each of these new warcasters, which will be playable in multiplayer and single player AI skirmishing, is bigger than life and will be the centerpiece of your squad every time you take one of them onto the battlefield.
For Cygnar, comes Captain E. Dominic Darius, in his massive suit of steam-powered armor, complete with a shoulder-mounted steam canon and a crane for repairing his own downed warjacks. His suit can also deploy miniature half-jacks that repair other jacks or act as mines, and so powerful is Darius' suit that he is able to wield the formidable quake hammer, carried by the immense Ironclad warjacks!

Leading the faithful of the Protectorate is the Harbinger of Menoth! A young prophetess with a mysterious origin, her divinity holds her aloft so that she may never touch the ground. Tended by a trio of acolytes and bearing the blessed sword, Providence, she inspires all those who serve the Creator of man.

With his own way of inspiring his people comes Karchev the Terrible. Age and war wounds made his body useless for battle, but instead of fading into obscurity, this decorated war hero had a warjack chassis modified to be his new body so he could continue to devote every second of his existence to conquest for the Motherland.

And last is the giant himself, the Lich Lord Terminous. HIs body warped and blighted by the Dragon's touch, he is a killing tempest on the battlefield whose dark majesty is so great that he inspires the dead that march at his side. Charging ahead of his legions gripped by unmitigated bloodlust, he is an unstoppable scythe consuming the souls of all who fall by his blade.

MYSTERY FEATURE
Of course, the real question on everyone's minds is, what is the mystery feature unlocked by this stretch goal? Well, in addition to a great gaming experience, WARMACHINE has always been about incredible storytelling, and we have always envisioned WARMACHINE: Tactics as taking these stories to the next level, not only through the interactive experience, but through the new visual medium available to us. Hitting this stretch goal means that we're going to be able to add cinematic cut scenes to the single player No Man's Land campaign. We'll be able to create scenes like the grand introduction of Commander Sturgis as he storms into the fray, his double bladed staff whirling around him like a cyclone of death. And we'll get to dramatize moments like the personal interactions between Lt. Jakes and her warjacks that will bring the story so much depth. We're incredibly excited to be able to realize the vision of WARMACHINE in this way, and we plan to do it with great style.
So this stretch goal announcement could not have come at a better time because to achieve great cinematics, you need great acting talent, and we have a another really special announcement that we're sending out in a press release tomorrow. But as our backers, we're going to give you the first look at this exciting news that we know is going to make this cinematic experience something everyone will be looking forward to:

Adam Baldwin in Negotiations to Lend His Voice Talent to “WARMACHINE: Tactics”

BELLEVUE, WA, August 5, 2013 –Renowned actor Adam Baldwin is in negotiations to lend his voice talent to the upcoming video game WARMACHINE: Tactics. Perhaps best known for his role as Jayne Cobb in Firefly and Serenity, Baldwin has appeared in dozens of film and television roles, including Full Metal Jacket, Independence day, The X-Files, and Chuck. Baldwin has also voiced roles in blockbuster video games including Halo 3: ODST and Mass Effect 2. WARMACHINE: Tactics came to Baldwin’s attention early in the game’s extremely successful Kickstarter campaign in which it funded its $550,000 goal in under 35 hours.
Based on the award-winning WARMACHINE tabletop game, WARMACHINE: Tactics is a turn-based, squad-level strategy game for PC and Mac produced in cooperation between Privateer Press Interactive and developer WhiteMoon Dreams. The game’s Kickstarter campaign attained over 200% of its funding in under three weeks and continues to unlock game-enhancing stretch goals. The campaign ends on August 9.
Matt Wilson, creator of WARMACHINE and the owner and Chief Creative Officer of Privateer Press Interactive, is personally overseeing the game’s story development and will be directing the voice-over and cinematic animation. “We could not be more thrilled for the opportunity to have Mr. Baldwin involved in the WARMACHINE: Tactics project,” said Wilson. “We’re all lifelong fans of his immense body of work, and bringing his incredible and iconic voice presence to the production will enable us to realize the artistic vision we’ve always had for this game.”

*Sigh* - the big secret add-on was cut-scenes - a pretty standard VG feature. I hope we hit the 2 million stretch goal that unlocks mouse and keyboard support.

Also telling - they didn't put up a new stretch goal.
