cam, mate... this is a gem... that´s the short version of what I am feeling... tonight I will show this all to my wife... she needs to see that... my kids would go ballistic to be able to play with that... the last addition is so cool, I picture myself in my own sleeping bad again back when I was doing service... I made, one night outside, holes due to fire exposure in it because it was so cold I had to be too close to the campfire we had lit... ach... glorious times^^

I have to say my favourite piece is definitely the ork on the lounger with umbrella just awesome work this is going to be a hard one to judge a winner on me thinks.

Well I can see dune buggy attack craft for my desert dudes, so here we go.....

Remove the surfboard..

Strip it down....

Key the paint, removing decals etc...

Prime leather brown..

So this is where I am at...


Going to add a gun on the top there, driver and co. Stowage on front, bigger bull bar on front, silly exhaust on back, already changed out the front wheels. Going to paint it up a fair bit more yet, started on the interior.

So your thoughts and critique as always are most welcome.

Hmm, it's looking pretty nice already. I'm gonna have to back track the blog to discover just what these 'desert dudes are'.

With the new paint job I instantly thought of Herbie the love bug, or whatever his name was in the old movies. It almost looks too casual to be military grade. Not sure how to fix that though.

Ork buggy?

I think this buggy is very close if a bit more smoother looking to the FW tauros scheme...

with a top mounted autocannon or HB I think your´e golden.... how you will be doing a seated model tho will be very interesting for me...! (read as...do it !!! )

That Baja bug conversion looks really cool.

Reminds me of a model I ned to work on at home which is a counts-as Attack bike, I got it as a trade and was based off of 1 of these.

Ok it is a bit big but it is a 4 seater not 2 man, etc...etc...

I am going to do more work on it see if I can't military it a bit, still like it for a transport / support vehicle for my IG army, not like I care if it's legal.

i think what is needed is to get rid of the smiley face of the buggy... the lights and the fender look as if it is constantly smiling...so a bit of meanfulness would do the trick...you know that each car has its own face? right?...

@ WP Which one? the new one or the GW type one? The new one is from a silly toyshop on a camp site, however I have found a wholesaler who could sell me 144 at a time?? The GW one is part of a massive purchase I made from Graven, think it's FW, not sure though.

So drilled some holes and made supports/hardpoints for me to attach plastic to.

Glued in, don't think I would have too much success without the hole.

Some hard points on the side for me to mount stuff off.

clean enough underneath.

And with a bit of a stowage rack on.....

Nice work Cam. Good idea with the hard points.

Glad you got rid of the eyeball headlights, now it needs a bar light setup over the windshield, which also needs bulletproofing. Lots of lights and a speaker on the bar too. That way you can dazzle them with brilliance as your riddling them with bullets, and rocking out the sound at the same time.

Also needs whip ariels to be a command and control fast vehicle.

While I really like the hardpoint idea, this will definitely go straight into my lists of very useful methods for converting....I think the rack up front is too big, I highly doubt that yon driver will be able to steer by sight through the windshield? Tho I do have to say the build looks cool...

The Internet can be a scary place. Went looking for a good picture of herbie the love bug from the old movies I remember as a kid and found a picture of herbie, Optimus prime and tail pipe......yes my safe search function is on on my computer . I guess nothing is sacred anymore .
