MajorTom, man, i can see where you are coming from, but as an outside observer, i have to say it is easy for people to doubt that Alan is another Mandelbaum alias...

the fact that you guys exposed the Warhound scam is great work...
trying to convince the Average Joe that this is Mandelbaum again, with no evidence to provide, is a bit harder...
i don't doubt you, and it does look like the same thing all over again, but someone who has never heard of Mandelbaum is going to be a lot more skeptical...

Yep that red text x1000. I am from the LA area too and although I don't think we know each other I bet if we sat down it wouldn't take long for one of use to recognize the name of someone we have bother played a game with. I would say what, maybe 2 minutes max?

Well I am always willing to help. Again I have to have proof and not opinion but I am willing to help you out in any way I can. I have friends in the Federal Police in Frederick MD and providing the evidence is solid I can see what can be done. I will caution you that you wont be taken serious on most of the issues though. You should see some of the flack I got about being a wargamer in the department... BUT crime is crime and with enough evidence AND testimony something should be able to be done. I also have LE friends in the Dallas area to be able to serve papers IF everything is in order.

Or just show up at a LFGS with some of his work and have a couple of pictures taken. Show drivers license/CC to the store owner and have him vouch for you.

I was as skeptical as anyone else when we got the "It's him. I know because of privileged information that I'm not going to share" routine, but this whole thing is just going by the numbers just like Resin Forge.

Munkey Joe, like I said when you first joined us, glad to have you here mate.

I know exactly the position you are in now, as I was in that same spot during Resin Forge, and Tom contacted me and I shared some information with him privately. I'll actually be posting some of that information later tonight to share with everyone how this works.

When I worked for Resin Forge managing the facebook and being a face here on Dakka, I would provide Kim/Daniel with my advice on how to fix the company image. While I have no formal PR training, I have worked retail for the last decade and done promotions for bands and clubs since middle school.
So I constantly would tell them how to address the accusations and prove that the business was operating legally. And every time I got the same response you did, or I was told yes it'll happen and then it wouldn't.
As Monster said, this whole thing is going exactly by the numbers.
And as Tom pointed out, this won't stop unless true legal action is brought upon him.
Honestly if he is being wrongly accused he can prove it, I'd feel sorry, but the fact that overwhelming evidence is against him and the way he denies and refuses to give proof of his identity doesn't help.

Now the salient point here is the first three lines. They are lies, followed by a statement of victimisation.

He says that last so what you take from the statement is that he is being victimised, its the most prevalent in your mind. ANY decent marketing course will explain this use of language to you, and it is entirely deliberate.

The first three lines are the actual important bit, they are lies because he has suggested he will do those things , but he never actually has done any of them, the response to that statement should always be for him to do one of those first three, but the way we process information will lead one to focus on the last part unless the reader understands the communication patterns being used.

As far as what to say, tell them you are tired of being called names and disrespected. Provide the proof that the new LLC will be solely in your name. Without HH weekend pics they'll want you to concede that you weren't there, that's something they won't back down on. You can either address it or ignore it. But as I said before, and have said in the thread, RF need a to continue as business as usual. Returning customers will still shop and by doing reputable business a Client base be established. Even using eBay to sell bits and ends to manage the business

What you could do, print the image and manually crop the information out using an exacto knife, something that can be done quickly nd doesn't leave something that can be unmasked. I'm not leaning towards them but I'm telling you what your going to have to do clean this up. If they think Daniel is at all involved they will not stop.
Regardless of what I spin to them they will want the proof to back up what I tell. You have to understand I can only tell them so much but without the evidence to support what I say it does no good to them. And yes you did but I do believe you are who you say.
I'm just trying to manage the crisis and cool some tempers.

None of which were done, just smoke screened and ignored.
It goes on for another week but I'm exhausted of reading the archives!

I'm pretty sure that this is guff. Taking a look at the file structure there is just nowhere to store the unobscured data as well as the data that obscures it as PNG does not support layers or pages or history/versioning etc.

Show an in program shot of the BigBad Warhound base mesh, no shading, just the polygons. It is not personal info, you yourself said you had the files and already used them. If you show that, it will prove you were honest about having the files, and that you were selling something you had to sell and not taking pre orders for thin air.

There is zero risk, zero personal info and about 5 minutes of effort involved in doing this. There is absolutely no reason you could not produce this if you were honest about your story.

Stop bs'ing, I don't want your birth certificate, your dl, or even a picture with you in it. Just a screenshot of an open file you said is sitting on your computer. Stop smoke screening by pretending we want a blood sample or for you to meet us in dark alleys or your banking pin. Get that screenshot. It's easy. What possible reason is there not to if you have it as you claimed? You can only benefit, I can only lose.

I'm inclined to believe DM had planned this out all the way back in 2012... So, possibly, he could have another proxy page set up so he can abandon BCS and move over there to begin again, only this time, he got caught early before he could actually try to get some positive reviews with fake product.

Yes, the BCS facebook page claims it was founded in March 2012. You can set ANY date you wish for the "founding" of your organization/group/business FB Page (I just created one 2 weeks ago for a local gaming convention and set the "Founded in" date to 3 years ago when we held our first convention).

No screenshots at this time but some points of potential interest via FB pm's with BCS yesterday;

"For commissions, we only work with people we know, hence no prices listed for those"
"The only prices listed were for extra Forge World bits, prices which are lower than on ebay for the same bits" - (thus the "our prices can't be beat" claim)

Apparently BCS is only works with clients sent by other clients, despite the FB page being entirely public and inviting people to work with them (as shown on the 725+ likes "event") and no evidence that it's essentially "private/invite only" commission work.

"Listing prices of FB is a big no no by FB itself" - claimed regarding the lack of prices listed on the FB page (has apparently gotten warnings from FB itself telling him not to list prices)

He's done custom work "locally here in LA for more than 10 years"

In his head it's mainly Aussies hounding him in the Facebook groups as he thinks one mod of a group is Aussie and one of the commenters mentioned being close to him/ her. So the mod doesn't do anything against the negative comments, therefore the Aussies are out to get him. Something like that.

Just focus up guys, just ask the one question that matters here, the one he himself said he had in hand, the one that proves, regardless of whether or not he is Daniel or Alan, that it was not a complete and total fraud that initial warhound sale.

We don't need personal info. We don't even need his business reg #. We don't need proof he is in LA. All that matters, is to establish that his very first issue was legit or not. He says he was scammed. He can easily, easily prove their are elements of honesty to his story. Let's start there.

I was going to stay out of it this time, as the grief I got during the RF time was enough to test the patience of an angel.

However:
1) I never asked Daniel about his mother, in fact I can't recall ever discussing her with him in any shape or form
2) all of the discussions at the time were published here, by me, in the interests of full disclosure
3) the nonsense about US boarding passes: under the Warsaw conventions, ALL boarding passes are the same! I would have been more than happy to dig out one of the many passes I still have from my annual visits to the US (I'm sad like that - I keep a travel journal) to prove it
4) if Alan Welson isn't Daniel, why did he block me the second I asked if he was DM? Why not just answer the question?
5) Sami is a great person who just wants to run a group based on painting, modelling and converting. Price whines are incredibly taboo (the same as with the group I mod - wargaming veterans) as they can take over. Why she allows DM's antics I don't know. However, I posted a link to both Lex and here on many sites all of which quite happily took the post and ran with it (one even mutated into giving DM his own 40k army entry!)
