Okay, still arguing with GW manager... He insists the The Cult of Khaine deal comes with a Sorceress model...accounting for the extra $14.75...However, GW website reads -

Witch Elves observe Khaine, the Lord of Murder, with blood-slicked sacrifice and frenzied battlefield deeds. When a great host marches to war a Cauldron of Blood often accompanies the Witch Elves, driving them onto even more murderous rampages.

This Cult of Khaine 1-Click Collection provides you with a range of miniatures based around a Dark Elf Sorceress and her murderous coven. It contains 4 boxes of Witch Elves/Sisters of Slaughter; and 1Cauldron of Blood/Bloodwrack Shrine.

What I am reading is -

This Cult of Khaine 1-Click Collection provides you with a range of miniatures based around a Dark Elf Sorceress (*** that is from the cauldron box set ***) and her murderous coven. (This deal includes the following) It contains 4 boxes of Witch Elves/Sisters of Slaughter; and 1Cauldron of Blood/Bloodwrack Shrine. (Total of 5 boxes that bought separate is $315. Where is the sorceress blister? She is not pictured)....

Thoughts?

If you're intending to purchase it just have him agree to include a sorceress if the bundle ends up not containing one.

All the better to fit their big gloves. But seriously, I'll probably still paint those as gloves so they don't look as big. WAY better, IMO. Def might actually buy these...but probably not the witches...unless I really want to run sisters of slaughter.

I like the old armor better. It looked like laquored armor, or some kind of chitin. The new warrior armor is light armor, why does it look like heavy plate?

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

High and Dark Elves have always had rather heavy armor modeled on them regardless of their rules being light armor for core.

Corsairs are a better representation of light armor, being leather. I don't know about you, but I consider head, torso, arms and legs to be pretty good coverage for armor, certainly a step up from just a chest piece and helmet which would be far more common and cost efficient for campaigning, as those are the areas that generally decide the different between a wounded soldier and a dead soldier.

Alas, perhaps Elven armor is super flimsy which is why a full head to toe set only grants a 6+

Looks fairly light to me, mainly just a helmet, breast plate, and vambraces. I don't imagine the chainmail skirt and leather boots providing much protection.

So hang on guys, did I miss something?

Is it still probably going to be a two month release? Because a lot of the rumored kits were not released.
Or were there just a lot of rumors but only some were true?

Also, no finecast, yay!
Was the move away from finecast actually officially announced? If so, when and where?

Made my pre-orders today (CE codex and magic cards) with plans to make more. I'm always of the sort to do my research first before ordering models. Plus I have like 6k of Dark Elves already so it's mostly me seeing what I need to fill in with.

I also got the White Dwarf, to scour the battle report for anything about rules and changes. Obviously, it is not a comprehensive list but here's what I've picked out:

Witch Elves are a Core choice now.

Hydras are a Special choice now.

Cauldrons of Blood can be pushed ala Screaming Bells. Not sure if it is by Khainites only, but logic would hold to that. Being pushed buffs the pushing unit for protection (did not specify what kind) and to buff their Murderous Prowess rule.

Murderous Prowess - re-roll 1s to wound. If pushing a Cauldron, re-roll ALL failed wounds.

Universal ASF.

The Medusa is a cheap rare choice, the report mentioned a shooting attack, but did not go into details.

Word of Pain is now -1 WS and BS.

The lore attribute mentioned something about "causing additional hits" but no details.

Hated High Elves common, only thing that has Eternal Hatred that I could find was Black Guard.

I'd be interested in converting the Witch Elves to Daemonettes, but for that price, I'd be better off buying 3rd party models.

All them rules sound good, though it does sound like I'll be having to purchase a lot of Khanite models if I want my Cauldron to be useful. Does it have to be pushed?

Also, what happened to the Black Guard/Executioners plastic box set? Is that due for release later on?

Before the marine defeat, you'd have to go back to the previous version of the Skaven book being released to see a new army getting defeated.

Back OT. Was looking at the Mantic version of Dark Elves, and sadly, they're almost the same price as the GW version, without the quality.

I wonder if the Sorceress is perhaps scheduled to drop in November for separate release hence no official picture yet ?

I highly doubt we are getting another plastic sorceress since we got one last year. It was just a mistake on GWs part, they just forgot to include it in the pic

It read as if it was an option, but I think it is something where you get more benefits if you push it as opposed to hanging it back. But that is purely speculation on my part based on what's there.

The Dark Elves won, which was not a terrible surprise. As usual, the battle report I doubt was anything tournament-worthy, so the effectiveness of units is questionable. That said, 30 Witch Elves did kill (not run down, not break, but utterly kill) 30 Savage Orcs in a single head-to-head charge, so their power is certainly without doubt.

Well more pictures of the DE from Games Day. Surprisingly, no painted models. Only 3 ups and raw plastics.
Spoiler:

That Avatar is huge! It's on a 50mm for perspective.

From one of the battle scenes. The Dark Riders are the old ones, but don't recognize the lead character. Not making out the bits for a conversion. Might include new stuff.

Warning, images are huge.

That's the first thing I thought the moment I saw the white dwarf. The size's clearly close enough and it looks "meaner" (read : spikier) so it could fit with more feral craftworlds (Biel-tan or Saim-hann maybe?) or even exodites.

Wow, those Dark Riders and Black Guard look sweet. I honestly really like the Executioners as well, I'd probably go for a deeper red color (that's what color I use for the rest of my Dark Elf armor), and I think it will look awesome. Looking forward to seeing the Cold One Chariot!

Also, who the heck let that awful green paint-job on the Hydra be "official" when there's that amazing teal one?!
