Lame... They won't allow people to back for just 'add-ons' anymore. So I can't pledge 10$ for mouslings.

And then put $10 on the next screen.

The $1 option is pledged-out right now. They'll probably add another one with a later shipping date.

I don't even KNOW anymore.

Pledging. Hopefully I can get mine a little sooner than expected, as I live just 20 minutes from Reaper HQ.

And models like the kraken are bones at it's best. Massive model only $15, and due to the soft nature of the plastic all those tentacles are safe from breaks that in most other materials would be a nightmare.
Can you image having to pin them all in metal, or how fragile there'd be in resin?

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

Well I'm in at the moment,

but I'll need to see how the postage eventually works out what I want to get coming to the UK

I know the minis will be a great deal, but with the wastage of stuff I don't actively want and unknown shipping and customs fees (Reaper declaring actual shipped value instead of just the pledge level) it might end up more sensible to pass

Yeah, loving the look of those scenery miniatures.

Could definitely see myself snagging those, the first pack (it's been alluded to that we may be able to get multiples of the pre-packaged stuff, which leads me to think they'll be buyable separately) and perhaps some paint.

Going to wait so I'm not modifying my pledge up and down over the next few weeks, but some assurances on the S&H numbers would go a long way towards alleviating my concerns.

Like, are we going to be talking $5 per add on, a flat starter in the $10 range for time and materials that goes up based on size/weight/distance? Etc.

Just want to know what I'd be getting in for. A glance at Bones 1 indicates that Canadian S&H was free for their larger tier, but presumably with the changes to S&H that went through earlier this year, they probably took a beating on that, so I'm not going to assume it'll be the same this time.

I think that the intention is non-USA backers will just pay the actual sticker price of the shipping (so no handling); but what that ends up being will depend on what firm they use to do the shipping and what weight the box + add-ons ends up being for each pledger

(we will also be responsible for paying any taxes like VAT in the EU due on the imported goods)

They answered this in the FAQ, value of shipment is being declared as your pledge level + extras, shipping will not be included in the value declaration.

Makes things much easier for me since I know the customs fee will just be £20 or so for the basic $100 pledge. I imagine shipping will be another £20, so I hope to be getting a freaking gigantic pile of minis by the end of this... if that doesn't materialise, I'll drop it.

I think I can use almost all of the minis, I swear it's like they're ticking off entries in the KoW nature and abyssal lists one-by-one... just had lesser abyssals/ gargoyles, centaurs/ slyvan kin, and next up is naiads (fishmen).

Agh, that too?

I really don't like customs one bit!

It'll probably cost another $100 in total just to get hold of this thing. I'll definitely see what it looks like towards the end and have another think, but for now camping the first early bird works for me.

Maybe I can ebay stuff I don't want off to make $100 once it arrives? Any bones veterans had luck with this?

Well, I'm in for now. Just need to see what the shipping will be like. Customs shouldn't be too bad though, ~£14 for the VAT on the basic pledge. Of course, all depends on the exchange rate at the time it lands.

I don't doubt that to be the case.

That doesn't change that I'd like to know *how big that amount is, at least vaguely* before getting too attached to picking up anything in particular.

Context is key, and currently we don't have any.

I can have all the faith in the world that it'll be reasonable, but "reasonable" depends on a lot of variables and can stretch pretty far.

Worst case scenario, I don't like their answer and they get a dollar from me for nothing. Best case, I do and I get to buy some awesome minis and get shipped to in Wave 2, which looks like it'll practically be the front of the line by the time this is all done.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Yeah, even a guestimate for RoW shipping for the basic core set would be a good guide.

I also wish that furniture pack was a treat and not an option!

No, you were right,

you'd already got the 'collecting fee' figured into your rough estimate of £20 on a $100 pledge

Looks like someone has already done a pledge calculator with a running total mini count (132 so far!):

You'd better believe it. I'm awaiting my customs charges but i'm guessing around 80 quid. Its going to hurt. And that was with Reaper putting the vampire pledge amount on the consignment. HMRC just didn't believe the figure so demanded my credit card statement.

The shipping on this KS is the one thing that might get me to drop my pledge no matter how nice the stuff is.

Being my first ks from across the pond where ive got to pay these things makes me reconsider my pledge. It'll have to be a really good deal by the end to make it worth it to me, especially since im eyeing up two other ks at the mo. I really want those vampires for kow tho, along with that dragon.

Every UK started KS does the same thing to US customers.. They charge what the shipping is.. With our dollar being lower than your that only compounds the reason I don't back non US kickstarters.. It sucks but its a valid reason.. Shipping anything is murder when it leaves the borders..

Or more. This thing will be huge. Don't begrudge them recouping costs.

Oh it'll be worth while,

and even with (accurate) customs charges and actual shipping a lot cheaper than getting them retail in the UK/Europe

the question will be is how much of the box is 'stuff you've got to ebay or it will sit in a box unloved forever'

last time I only needed about 15% to be 'good' for me to be happy to back, this time I suspect it will probably have to be about 30%
