Neither is it £18 for 10 hard-plastic, multi-pose models with 15 different heads, nearly 30 different weapon options, etc.., etc.. that, of course, you can also get at 20% off in online retailers.

Either way, I doubt it would bankrupt them to add an extra 2 minis to each team-box to allow basic league play without tricking people into buying another team box (or team-booster) for an extra mini or two.

Escalation was *always* amazing, apocalypse has gotten there. The rest are just easy ways to focus fire specific things you like I'm pretty extended, but sort of considering a second escalation onto my BotB.

@Krinsath, being a total Dreadball n00b may I ask, why two teams? Does the game expand beyond 8 models? If I got the martian DB team and say, the full-size starter box, would the martians have less players?

Yes. I assume 8 players will be the starting line-up. If you play in a league, you'll likely want 2 or 3 more, though 16 is excessive.

Mantic's retail boxes for DreadBall are really annoying in that you usually only get the exact minimum to play, but no single (or pairs of) add-on miniatures are available. They really should consider putting the +2 freebies for each team (as in the Kickstarter) in all the retail team boxes. At their current "we-make-even-Games-Workshop-cry" RRP for DreadBall teams, that should be doable.

16 is the maximum roster size, and the size of all my other teams (well, when the final-final shipment gets here anyway). It is excessive, as the most you realistically are going to use on a team is 14, since you'd want a spot or two free for MVPs. Even if your team is awesome and you're not going to PLAY an MVP, it can be worth locking them up for a week on your team to deny them to your opponent. That's sliding a bit off-topic though.

8, IMO, is not sufficient as Zwei said, but I'd rather have too many than too few. Easy enough to just not play with the extras, but damned annoying to try to magic them out of thin air if they're needed.

Ahh, thanks for that Krinsath. I think I'll just stick to one set since I don't even have the core game yet, and proxy in some ray-gun martians if I ever get to the point that I need them

I'd love to go apocalypse
However lack of Robot/Or ability to switch stuff out for things I want means I'll be sticking to my $140 - so Escalation, Martian Mayhem, Joe, & Heroes bundle

Yeah? I always thought 14 is the maximum roster size (and, as you said, you don't want to fill it up completely for a variety of reasons).

@ Zweischnied -

i suspect they aren't tooled that way.

also 2x8 is 16, and gives the maximum number of player positions for the team. If its 10 in a box, you end up with 2 left over if you buy a second team that you can't use.

And the restic prices for individual models (and probably pairs) is kind of high so I wonder if they'd really sell many smaller batches like that. It's far from ideal in either case I guess.

You are correct; went to double-check and it is indeed 14, but no more than double the starting line-up so the 16 models gives you the flexibility to build it out how you want instead of being stuck with just Jacks or Strikers due to model restrictions.

And again, it's not particularly wise to fill out all those slots unless you're supremely confident in your team versus theirs + MVPs.

Don't most of the Mantic team sets also come with the MVP? Which most people end up using as an alternative pose for the team anyhow.

This is ending in a very similar way to Impacts last KS I watched all day waiting for it to take off and it never did not even in the last hour or 2. I don't think it will go beyond $550k - $560k which is still really good going it must be said but I think it's brought it most of it's backers early on with the time limited offers and that's stopped the last day rush (so far ).

I'm back to my original IA EB 1 and that's where I'll be staying I haven't even checked the KS today other than to see what value it's at just now - as there's no need to keep chipping in another $5 here or there as things unlock like in their other KSs. I'm not sure this whole credit idea works I have $125 to spend I'm not even sure what it will be spent on I'll look at it when the survey comes out.

I think the credit, or a version/hybrid of it, will be super good for MA. Like buy our x-level pledge and get 4 tanks and 40 infantry, OR swap out the tanks for 4 tanks of a different faction, or swap out your infantry for tanks. That way people can get specifically what they want. I just think the add-ons and them having a direct dollar correlation caused some issues.

In case anyone missed it, Beloss Bel is now a freebie if we hit the backer goal.

Time to throw $1 at your friends/ wife/ cat and get them to pledge! :p

Not long left!

Rolling to the end quite nicely, given all the stagnation earlier in the week. Plenty of good value on offer and still some.

Reckon will end around $560k but you never know

Does anybody know what the difference between the crashed car add on and the crashed car Pledge booster is? If I order 3 of the $5 cars do I get a set like the Pledge Booster or just three of the same car?

I'd also try asking Mantic if the DreadBall team comes with clear hex bases and decals like the retail boxes. If it doesn't, just plain miniatures (like most recent stuff I got from the DreadBall KS), and you need to order those later, getting them through Kickstarter might actually not be optimal.

Nice, that thing is *huge*.

Pretty damn good when you consider that it's as low as $17.50 to buy (taking into account 25% pledge level credit discount and bundle deal)

Now it's actually near the end, I'm starting to have a look at it.

Particularly, at any models for Deadzone and dreadball.

Seeing that the Martian Dreadball team is basically £12.50 with free delivery - what you'd probably pay for from an online store has got me more interested.

A couple of the character models seem pretty neat too (Edwyn, Blaine maybe, one or two others).

I'm also half tempted by a truck and tiger corps for deadzone rebels...

Is there a smarter way to pledge for roughly things along these lines? Or do you think it's just a case of Dreadball team + Add ons?

...IF they could produce that, with poseable limbs (which it seems these would lend themselves well to, and in a manageable number of pieces as well!) that would be pretty bloody great

Finally dropped my EB2 down to just get a mat and a basic ruins pack. Now that the total is climbing rapidly rather than dropping like a rock I don't feel so bad about it.

There's some nice stuff (not so much the actual MA stuff, but more the vehicles), but I don't really feel the need to have it on day 1.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

As someone not very interested in Mars Attacks, I'm delighted with this KS campaign. It's become extremely Deadzone friendly, with all of the compatible units, and all of the Deadzone terrain merchandise. I'm basically putting in a good chunk of my Deadzone survey 2 order through this campaign, but now I'm being rewarded with Mars Attacks freebies for doing so.

And while I'm not very invested in the Mars Attacks IP or the game, getting the game for $15 is a steal.

I originally planned to pledge $1 and probably pick up just the Blaine figure on the survey. I'm currently in for EB1 IA and will be happy to stay there.

Finally decided to go in for this! Managed to pick up an early bird for the $100 deal, and I like the way it looks like a nicely self-contained game for the price.
