Took a quick break from Infinity. Painted a MERCS figure. This guy is the old USCR Booster. Not many people were a fan of this figure.

I was tempted to model him actually kicking in a door, but I figured the door debris would've really obstructed him and would look kind of weird on the table.

The other figure I painted up is from the Alien Assimilation Kickstarter. This is one of the Alien Hunter figures, which is clearly influenced by the Weyland Yutani troops from Alien 3. This figure was also supplied to me by BobtheInquisitor.

His eyes didn't come out as well as I would've liked, but I'm happy enough with the overall results. I'm most likely going to work on some more Cybertronic tomorrow, so no Infinity.

Highlord Tamburlaine should recognize tongiht's figure. This is the Lady of War, which is clearly meant to be a female Khorne Champion. Nice figure. The only downside would be that she isn't as massive as the official Khorne figures. If she's a Champion of Khorne though, and she's that tiny compared to the guys, she must be one hell of a fighter.

The other figure I finished tonight is probably less exciting, since I don't think many people on here like 15mm. This guy is a Prang Raider with an HMG. He's from the Ion Age line and was pretty much an impulse buy to go along with last month's freebie, which was a Prang Ambassador. Apparently the Prang faction is split into two groups, the Prang Army, which is on friendly terms with the humans and officially represent the Prang government, and the Prang Raiders, who are a bunch of space pirates at odds with humanity and are openly antagonistic with the Prang government. The Raiders have a sort of hodge-podge look to their gear, much of which is pretty beat up looking. I think they'd be great for some post-apoc mutants.

The Khorne woman came out good. Still haven't painted mine yet sadly- the one I kept for myself had a broken blade behind her head and I haven't made up my mind what I want to replace it with.
Nevermind the dozen or so Ogres I still have in front of me that need completing...

Finished up one of the three Cybertronic figures on my table tonight. This is the Cuirassier from the Kickstarter starter set. Though, I think the retail versions are pretty much the exact same figure.

I like the design of the figure, but the pose sucks hard. I did some reposing on him and even managed to do a little sculpting to repose the left arm. I'm happier with this pose, but this figure needs to be redone.

I also got probably 80% of the work done on the Chasseur that comes in the Cybertronic RPG set. Figured I'd post a WIP picture of him.

This sculpt is so much sharper than my Kickstarter Chasseurs. No broken fingers or smudgy details, either. In order to make him stand out more from the others, I've opted for a more decayed look to his skin. Of course, all of the highlighting and layers I did on his skin don't show up in the pic. The skin actually looks quite good in person. I also opted to paint his bald head as a full helmet just to make him look more unique. He should be done tomorrow.

I'm going to be out of the country for the next week, but I managed to finish the remaining two Cybertronic RPG characters today. Not the best photos because I didn't take them at my house, but hey, at least you can see the highlighting I did on the Chasseur this time!

The Chasseur is actually named! His name is Dick Hawkins. I'm very pleased with how he turned out, too.

The other character in the RPG set is a Dr. Diana clone. I believe this is the third iteration of her and her clones. Word of note with this mini, those servo arms are very thin and spindly and break very easily.

I thought I'd try something a little different today and do a little experiment using the Prisma app. I like the results. I'm going to try some photos using Infinity figures with it later.

Great stuff as usual lately! Prisma is fun isn't it. That first filter I don't recognize but both photos turned out neat.

I haven't posted any of it because I figured most people weren't interested. I haven't built or worked on any of it though I don't have any glue that's really usable right now though. Once I pick some up, I'll start working on them.

Grimdork, it is a fun app. The filter I used on the Slaughterpriest I believe was called Roy, of all things. I like the effect it gives to him.

Here's a few more, using Infinity figures this time.

Roy made her face look really funny, too.

I went with filters that make them look less abstract and more smoothed out. I like how the filters look on them. There's a thread on the official forums that did this and that's what influenced me to try it out.

I've been spending this week trying to get over my jet-lag, which has been making me really tired after I get home. Because of that and a lack of certain goods I need, like glue and primer, I haven't been getting much work done this week. But, that isn't to say that I haven't gotten anything done. I painted three Boomers and a 15mm battlesuit!

And yes, I mean THOSE Boomers.

First up is a BU-55C Combat Boomer with deployed laser cannon.

Next, a BU-55C Combat Boomer with deployed thrusters.

And third, we have one that I painted to look like the BU-99 Super Boomer.

My pictures don't do them justice. The blue ones are a nice metallic blue and the red is a glossy, metallic red. They look much nicer in person.

For those interested in having proper Bubblegum Crisis miniatures, these, along with the Knight Sabers, AD Police, and Genom Executives as well as Deunan and Briarios from Appleseed and the Dirty Pair are all produced officially by Ground Zero Games. They're all still available, too. The only catch is, they're actually 25mm scaled, so they're kind of small and they all have integral bases. The figures are all quite old as well, so some of the sculpts are probably not up to modern standards. Still, the fact that they exist and they're officially licensed is pretty damn cool.

The other thing I worked on this week is a Havelock Battlesuit from The Ion Age.

The Havelock is a support armor used by the Muster, which are sort of like the Imperial Guard of the Ion Age universe. This particular loadout includes a dual machinegun for anti-infantry purposes and a missile launcher for anti-armor. I believe it's stats also include it's left arm for punching, but I don't think that small gun mounted on back of the hand actually has any stats.

So it sounds like we need to make a hobby run this weekend?

I'm in need of a few base brushes since I keep picking up those crappy Testers ones at Michaels at a super steep discount.

Those boomers sure got painted up quick. Need a Knight Sabers team to fight them.

No Knight Sabres for me. I don't think I'd be able to get their colors right. The Boomers were easy and, if it weren't for jet-lag, I'd have had them done within a single night. They're just silver with layers of blue glaze for the blue ones and Blood For The Blood God for the red one.

I painted two more figures from that GZG order tonight. These guys are from their old 25mm Stargrunt line. They're Legionnaires from the Federated States of Europa. They'll be joining my small collection of Stargrunt figures on me desk at work.

It's a little hard to tell, but the guy on the right is supposed to have his visor open. He's got facial features sculpted in there, but they're hard to see. These guys are fun little figures though. Just one more 25mm figure from this order to go now, and that's a Eurasian Solar Union power armor.

Their smaller size makes them a bit of a novelty, but they're perfect for having on my desk at work. Just the right size to fiddle with.

If the weapons were a bit bigger, they make decent folks from worlds where they are naturally smaller than the "heroic" 28mm and 32mm sized people.

Stuff looks great.

I like my knight sabers but they're 25mm so they don't really scale with anything else I have.

Well, back to somewhat more normal figures. These are 28mm scaled, at least. I decided to work on a couple figures that've been sitting around unpainted for quite some time. Here's the Fire dragon's Exarch, all finished up. This now completes all of my Fire Dragons!

And here's an American Airborne officer from AEWWII. This guy is actually a double for me. I have one of the US army boxes, which includes this guy. But, like many of the AEWWII figures, he has extra parts, so I figured, back when I got him, I'd do both builds.

The other build has an bare head with no sunglasses, and I think has a cigar in his mouth, a different rifle, and the left hand is carrying a radio. Since I already have a set of Airborne that I've already done, and a power armor, I figure this guy can lead them.

It's funny, both figures I painted tonight are in pretty much the exact same pose.

I've been trying to paint my Eldar in more non-traditional colors ever since I started buying them. It isn't often you see Fire Dragons in a dark scheme and I think it's a look that really suits them. I still haven't decided how I want to paint my lone Warp Spider though.

Here's the last 25mm Stargrunt figure from my previous Ground Zero Games order. This is a Eurasian Solar Union Power Armor.

The ESU, as far as I can tell, are Space Russians. The Federated States of Europa are Space French, and the Neu-Swabian League are Space Germans. These old 25mm figures have been fun to paint. I've actually based its colors on the box art for the old Halk Sovat power armor model kit from Dorvack. I feel like I could've done a better job on the camouflage bits though. I'm not especially enthused with how my attempt to mimic that Dorvack color scheme came out, but for something that's just going to sit on my desk at work, I think it's fine. Interestingly, GZG have been resculpting a lot of thier 15mm stargrunt lines. While the old ESU suits in 15mm used to look like this, the new ones most certainly do not. Their new designs look to be channeling a combination of the K-Suits from Bubblegum Crisis and the Studio Nue designs of the Starship Troopers power armors. I'd love to see that new design realized in a larger scale.

First thing I thought of upon looking at that color scheme was Dorvack. Go figure.

You have any of the newer 15mm versions of those suits? Your mention of them channeling Bubblegum Crisis and Starship Troopers makes them sound quite appealing.

Well, for some reason, alongside my Red Veil minis, I started working on one of the EIC figures from Mercs Recon. What's EIC? East India Company. They're the Megacorp that represents... well, India. This faction really grew on me due to their rather unusual, blocky designs. I'm kind of thinking I might use them for Rogue Stars as well. Here's the first of them, the Shock Trooper, who is basically the team's medic.

There's three of these skinnier figures in the faction and I think they're actually supposed to be female. As you can see, the cast isn't the best. The mold lines were really hard to clear away and this was about as good as I was able to do. Hers is also probably the softest in terms of detail. The male models look much sharper. I'll probably get to them soon as I work on Red Veil.

Made in us
Thermo-Optical Tuareg

California

I've got most of the Haqqislam portion of Red Veil finished now. Just two more figures to go. I figure I can share my progress now.

first up, the Zhayedan, who is quickly becoming my favorite of the set. His stance is really wide and I didn't feel like cutting off his slot tab, so I just kind of extended the base a bit withe some rubble. Highlord Tamburlaine was bugged to no end by that.

Here's Ghulam no. 1

Ghulam no. 2, who happens to be in the exact same pose as the guy I kitbashed last month.

Ghulam 3

and lastly, the Al Fasid, whose name spelling and overall design went through a significant change. I decided not to add camouflage to him, like I did my old Ahl Fassed models. I think I like how the cleaner armor looks more.

I've also been painting some other stuff, lately. This is the Gasmask Girl from This is Not a Test. World's End Publishing had Brother Vinni sculpt her. The guy's nudes are pretty tasteless, but his clothed figures really are quite good. Too bad I nearly ruined her by trying to paint her eyes. What you see is "good enough." It took several tries just to get them to an acceptable level.

Finally, we have another member of the East India Company. This guy is their Demolitions trooper. Nothing about him says Demolitions, but whatever. The same can be said for pretty much all of their classes except the Leader, Sniper, and the Heavy.

I'm very pleased with how her turned out. It helps that he has a sharper case than the Shock Trooper. I am going to have to redo his pauldrons though so that the EIC logo stands out better and to better match their artwork.

Made in us
Thermo-Optical Tuareg

California

Instead of finishing my Haqqislam, I wound up painting another EIC member. Apparently, the EIC's troops are called the Rakshasa. This guy is the Rakshasa's Breacher.

I noticed a few funky details on him as I was working on him. One, he appears to have an artificial leg. The right leg's details were completely different from the details on any of the other team members. He must've had some kind of mishap with his breaching charges, similar to the House 9 Demolitions guy. Two, his arms don't have the fabric covers over the biceps. His upper arms are oddly thin and have artificial muscle fibers over them. Kind of makes me think he might be missing his arms, too. Three, I don't know what that thing in his hands is. I don't think it's a pistol, since it looks nothing like the ones the Shock Trooper carries. It could be a dispenser for his breaching gel, but it doesn't look like the containers the other factions carry. I don't know what that thing is.

Well, that's half the team done, now. I just have the Leader, Engineer, and Sniper left to do. Until I get the missing guys from Megacon, anyway. I have three of the four remaining units on their way. I'll probably have to get that last guy just to complete the team. I'm kind of leaning towards using the Rakshasa as my team for Rogue Stars as well. They're funky enough, they ought to fit right in.

Made in us

Eastern edge

I think you are right regrding the limbs of the breacher, as for the pistol like object he hols, I saw his rifle on his hip for
quick access. I think he is holding a cutting torch, it has a gas bottle on it, dangerous place for the fuel for the torch.

Either that, or it is a form of tranquilizer gun, but I think torch or cutter is what it really is.

Minis look good as always, and the Haqqislam came out really nice!

Brother Vinni does nice work indeed,,,,especially when fully clothed his beauties be.

I did check his stat card. It shows the cylindrical Breaching Gel container, not this pistol thing. I'm pretty certain the pistol is supposed to be the Breaching Gel though.

Anyway, back to working on the stuff I'm supposed to be working on. However, I didn't do too much work on the remaining Haqqislam figures. I just paitned their pants. Exciting, right? Instead, I started on the first of the Yu Jing half of the box. To start, I figured I'd go with their most impressing looking figure, the Hsien Immortal. I'd intended to paint him in the white and orange scheme I've used on previous Imperial Security Services figures, but then I'd seen someone online trying to do an ISS army using the Shen Ce scheme on their uniforms. If you don't have the Human Sphere book, the Shen Ce scheme is an official alternate color scheme for Yu Jing's Imperial Security Services for use in night operations. The uniform gained infamy when the ISS was sent in to put down a riot by factory workers. Word is they were particularly vicious and cruel in putting down the riots and since then, this uniform has been something of a psychological tool. When you see the ISS wearing the Shen Ce uniform, gack is about to go down.

I really tried to be thorough and take my time on him, doing highlights and blending. Since I don't really have a proper photo area or decent lighting though, of course you can't see most of the work I did. In person, his armor looks much darker, more like the black I used on my Eldar Fire Dragons and the greenish-grey I used on his face and visor stand out much better. The picture really doesn't do the figure justice.
