His card has his name pronounced "Teitus."
I actually quite like the figures. The swappable heads is a really nice feature. I hope they do more squads from other chapters in the future.

Related, I noticed that there does seem to be a push from GW in Japan. Hobby Japan, which as far as I know is one of the country's top hobby magazines has been running features on GW products for a few months now. The latest issue has a big feature on a Stardrake and Ogroid Thaumaturge from AOS that HJ's staff painted as well as an article showcasing the sculpts and casts of GW's plastic kits. They're also running a Space Marine Heroes painting competition. So, hopefully an issue will soon have the results from that.

In unrelated news, I'm back to painting. I painted a Guild Drill Sergeant from Malifaux. Mythird Malifaux figure so far. Unfortunately, my laptop's battery is pretty much dead, so I'm stuck using my phone for photos.

Oh, I opened them. I even built one. I found them at Yodabashi Camera. I actually found them cheaper at Amiami's brick & mortar shop in Akihabara, but I only grabbed a couple.

Here's the one I assembled. They're all snap together kits and they all have swappable heads.

Spoiler:

This guy is Brother Titus. He's posed mid reload. Each figure comes with a unique stat card and bio. Weirdly, the stats are completely different from actual 40k stats.

The bio is totally in Japanese, of course.

Oh sick how is he next to a normal marine?

Oh, they're exactly the same size as regular Space Marines. Maybe they're ever so slightly taller due to actually standing up and not doing GW's usual Space Marine poop squat, but there's no scale difference,l. They'll fit right in with any regular Space Marine squads. I think they'd actually be perfect for RPGs or skirmish gaming.

Anyway, I finished a Buccaneer Warjack last night. I got this guy cheap at Brookhurst's Black Friday sale. He may be useful in Company of Iron, should I ever get a chance to play it.

More cruddy phone pics, ahoy! I'm supposed to be getting a new battery for my laptop on Saturday, so hopefully I won't have to rely on my phone for pics too much longer.

Anyway, I finished the other four members of my GCPS Ranger squad. I think I ought to probably add a color swatch to them to identify their squad.

I also just finished up my Brother Vinni Ibram Gaunt figure, which I gave to my dad.

Gaunt is awesome. Nice job!

I got my computer's new battery, so that means I can post pics from my camera again! Hurray for somewhat better pictures!

First up, we have another survivor figure from the Phalanx Consortium's Skirmish Ragers. This is another figure from the Kickstarter. I have no idea if these will ever see retail.

As you can see, I tried to paint a plaid shirt for him, but I'm not very good at it.

Next, we have Desperate Mercenary sculpt #2 from the Outcast faction from Malifaux. Her pose is... odd. I tried to keep her paint scheme as close to the studio scheme as I could.

And last, but not least, we have the promised naked fat guy, Killjoy. He's also from Malifaux. Apparently he's a Neverborn, but he's actually a part of the Outcast faction. I'm actually very happy with how he came out. The pics don't show some of the color shifts in his skin, unfortunately. I really like how he came out though. He looks kind of like he could be that Easy Build Plague Champion outside of his armor. Could probably even work for a somewhat small sized Nurgle Daemon Prince. He's on a 60mm base, I think.

Big Malifaux's always on 50mm. Same as Privateer stuff. Like I said, I'm going to use that Skin n' Moans Grymkin for a standin Killjoy unless I ever get a plastic one.

Merc came out well. She'd make a good post apoc figure.

I'll dig around and see if I can find that Guild Guard's arm for you, in case you don't just come up with your own.

Maybe it's time we actually bust out those "This is not a test" rules you let me borrow and has been languishing on my shelf?

Killjoy did turn out nicely.

Careful with getting any Wyrd plastic minis. Fiddly and tiny bits... Ugh. Not fun to assemble.

Wyrd's plastics aren't that bad.

I just built a human sized Kingdom Death model that had separate thumbs for each hand. INDIVIDUAL THUMBS.

Not even Wyrd is that insane... yet.

Nurgle has seen fit to bless me with one of his gifts this week, so I haven't been able to get a lot done. Maybe he was displeased that I wasn't working on more Plague Marines? Somehow, I did manage to finish up my Idrian Chieftain.

I am working on some more Malifaux stuff though. Highlord Tambulaine has given me a bunch of Wyrd's old metals. So, I'm slowly trying to clear those out of my queue. As far as Malifaux goes, I have a Guild Exorcist and an Insidious Madness up next.

I saw Idrian and misread it as Idiran. Now ,those would make for some cool minis. Well done Barzam. It painted up well.

Ah, I gather that you are unfamiliar with the Smoke & Mirrors box set in general (released 2 years ago), and specifically the one mannequin which does indeed have separate fingers/blades. Wyrd is indeed that insane. (Here's the link https://i.imgur.com/479tgvc.jpg)

I've got a Smoke & Mirrors box sitting in the garage. Perhaps it's time to get into it!

I'll just say this- I built the Goryo without too much hassle!

Eh. Someday, maybe. A lot of their plastics don't do much for me.

Speaking of plastic models though, these beauties arrived today.

I think I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Well, I got those three webshop Gundam kits built and completed a few figures before the end of the year.

I may as well start with the best of the bunch. This is a Goritsi Skorza Shieldbreaker, from CMON's Wrath of Kings.

My biggest complaint, aside from my glue not bonding him to the base very well, would be that his fur turned out darker than I'd intended. This guy, I should also note, I've had sitting, unpainted on my painting table for at least two years now. I'm so happy to finally have him finished. Maybe it'll even get me to work on more Wrath of Kings?

Following my badass armored werewolf, we have the miniscule Squire 'jack from Warmachine. I got this guy from BobtheInquisitor, so thanks for this. He'll be my new mini-construct for Frostgrave. I think he fits the role far better than the Bonejacks I have do.

Next, we have the Kickstarter exclusive Major Chard from Mantic's Warpath Kickstarter. This figure is metal. I quite like her sculpt, but there was a mold line running right down her face, which gave me some issues.

Lastly, we have another survivor miniature from Phalanx Copnsortium's Skirmish Ragers Kickstarter. This time, a body armored cop with a pump action shotgun.

Not the most interesting figure I've painted, but I'm not going to complain about having more police miniatures.

The previous figures I posted were actually all completed in December, so until last night, I hadn't finished any figures in 2018 yet. Today, I present the first figure of the year, Eilish Garrity, the Occultist.

Garrity was included with the first issue of No Quarter Prime. He's a fully resin figure and is supposed to be a part of Privateer's premium monthly figure line. I actually quite like him. The sculpt is very nice and crisp. I figured he could join Menoth too. Put his occult knowledge to their use. So, he's likely to become a new Sorcerer for my Frostgrave Menoth crew.

Okay, today we have the Herald of Blood, Hestra Nostrollo. She is a Goritsi vampire character and the leader of the Blood Dancers from CMON's Wrath of Kings. Believe it or not, this figure is actually the one that got me to back the Kickstarter to begin with. The fact that her faction was made up of Confrontation Wolfen as well was just icing on top.

What did you use for the base? Doesn't look like your normal style. Then again I think you ordered some base toppers during the campaign, didn't you?

She came out well. Maybe I'll have to paint mine to compete. I should have her somewhere. Somehow ended up with all the Goritisi heroes....

The base is one of CMON's base toppers. To be honest, these ones aren't the best since they don't really give a flat spot to mount the figures onto.

Thanks. I wish more people on here were willing to branch out into collecting other lines. There's some great minis out there.

Last night, while setting up my new computer, I finished my Guild Exorcist from Malifaux.

I'm hoping to run a pretty basic Guild crew and I really like the looks of the metal Guild minis. The nice thing about them is that they have some cross compatibility with other game systems, like Dracula's America or Fear and Faith. This guy will make a great Vampire Hunter.

It's been a slow week for me, but I got three guys finished.

First, a Lieutenant for my Raptors.

Then, I finally got the last of my converted Plague Marines finished.

And finally, I got an HQ for my Plague Marines! The Malignant Plaguecaster.

As you can see, no tiny, squishy baby face on him and no cloud of filth. I did a bit of converting since I really didn't like his face and the cloud would've looked odd without his exposed face. I wish I had some better bells to have him ring, but these get the job done. I actually really like this figure now. The weird baby face was really off putting.

Conversion came out good. You should've mentioned needing bells- I probably have a few leftover Blightking ones you could've used.

Where'd his head originate?

The head came from the Plague Marine that has all of the bells hanging off him and looks like he's running. It was the guy that is now dual weilding a sword and Plague Knife. When I carved him up, I made sure to keep his head as intact as possible. The Caster's bells came from that guy, too. I had to do some serious carving to get that helmet to fit under the hood.

Got myself a Beholder over the weekend. I'm going to try and do a little experiment and see if I can make some money reselling him. I was going for kind of a Cacodemon look and I think it came out rather well.

Very nice. That's the Gale Force Nine Beholder? How was it work with? I hear mixed reviews of their resins.

You should have no trouble selling it.

Ha nope. That's actually the pre-primed plastic one from NECA/Wizkids. My picture actually does the sculpt more justice than it deserves. You wouldn't know it from this pic, but it's actually covered in really bad mold lines. I would say they're probably worse than a lot of Bones figures' mold lines. There's little gaps all over him from where his bits were glued together in the factory, too. I will admit though, the option to have his eye stalks firing laser beams is pretty cool.
