If anybody had the gnolls, I'd really appreciate a pic of some assembled next to some plastics from another company. To be ideal, they would be standing in roughly the same pose as the figure they are being compared to.

I'll see if I can't get this done. I have to snap some pictures of other miniatures anyway so it shouldn't be an issue.
I think I've got some GW beastmen, I'll throw a gnoll in next to that and some Reaper and whatever others are on hand.

The Gnolls look like they're the same height as the regular Frostgrave plastics, but hunched over and bulkier (if that could be a thing with those minis ).

I was able to get the Gnolls at Gencon from a vendor there for $24.. and the hardback rules for $20... so nice to not pay shipping.

If you get a chance to do this it would be great. I don't think I am alone in wanting to see comparison shots of the gnolls with other miniatures.

What a nice bunch of chaps those people at Osprey Games are because because they've just released a host of FREE printable scenery so you can create your own dungeon scenery for the new Frostgrave supplement, into the Breeding Pits. With this new supplement for Frostgrave, players can lead their warbands into the vast network of catacombs, sewers, and dungeons that run underneath the Frozen City.

Along with a host of new scenarios, treasures, soldiers, and creatures, the book also contains rules for the traps and secret passages that are often found in the dungeons. With wonderful and rare magical treasures to be discovered, will players risk taking their warbands down into the Breeding Pits?

You can find the scenery on the Osprey Games website and there's a wealth of options including:

Corridor 1: Cracked tiles with torn pages on floor. 4 inches x 10 inches

Corridor 2: Cracked tiles. 4 inches x 10 inches

Corridor 3: Cracked tiles with torn pages on floor version 2. 4 inches x 10 inches

Corridor 4: Cracked tiles with scroll and polearm. 4 inches x 10 inches

Corridor 5: Cracked tiles version 2. 4 inches x 10 inches

Corridor 6: Cracked tiles with broken sword and shield. 4 inches x 10 inches

Room 1: Large room with polearm, broken sword and shield. 6 inches x 10 inches

Room 2: Medium-sized room with bones, scroll and torn pages. 6 inches x 8 inches

Room 3: Small room with bones. 6 inches x 6 inches

Room 4: Medium-sized room with shield. 6 inches x 8 inches

Room 5: Small room with broken sword. 6 inches x 6 inches

Also if you're a fan of Frostgrave, don't miss issue six of Tabletop Gaming magazine because we've got an EXCLUSIVE Frostgrave scenario written by the creator, Joseph McCullough.

How silly, everyone knows barbarians don't wear shirts or pants. Especially ones who live in arctic regions or regularly engage in combat.

How did this not occur to me? Using a Jedi or Sith Lord as a "wizard" and using the SW setting. Genius. Kudos.

I'm liking these. Not sure if they fit with my own desert based setting, but sure I can probably make a use out of them, seeing a Viking hairy chaps were supposed to have made their way out there at some point.

i like them. Much stronger sculpts than the Gnolls appeared to be. Manage to be both barbaric and generic enough. I hope some of the metal characters are a bit closer to the cover art in style though as that looks great.

Those Barbarians get an A+.

They are at a quality and price range they make me want to find a use for them.

Nice I really do like them. So far the previous have me just as excited as I was for the cultist box. Plus they will find their way to my battlefields very soon. A+

Very nice. I assume these are designed to be compatible with the previous sets?

That terrain in the pic also looks very cool.

Those barbarians look incredible. I will absolutely get in on the Nickstarter. Those are much much better sculpts than their previous offerings (and the soldiers weren't bad, and the cultists were pretty good).

I am very excited for these.

Orders for the Nickstarter are up on the North Star website. Waiting for me when I get my masters thesis bibliography done.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I might be interested in these, so many possibilites - Lord of the Rings Dunlendings or wildmen was my first thought. However, without a sprue shot, I will be waiting for retail.

As soon as Brigade's US orders go up, I am all over this.

Hyenas/Gnolls weren't my favorite, but otherwise nothing Frostgrave has ever let me down. Love the Soldiers/Cultist kits, and the gameplay of the expansion books is always excellent.

I was just coming here to post the same. :-p

It may not be the widest of releases, but man... Frostgrave has this to a science by this point. A couple distributors who treat it like an important release and put up stuff the second they say they will, coupled with very good prices, and a terrific, constantly supported game.

75% of the "bigger" games in this hobby could learn a lot about handling themselves based on how FG and Joseph conduct business.

Can anyone explain to me the 'value' in this Nickstarter? I see a 10% discount....and 20% shipping fee - why not just wait for it in the shops - is it really for 3 treasure markers?

It is one of those 'value grows over time' things - the more people that pre-order, the more 'free' stuff everyone gets, depending on the level they ordered.

See here:

http://nstarmagazine.com/FORGOTTEN_PACTS.htm

for more details!

Think Kickstarter. Free models, scenarios, tokens, etc... keep getting added as pre-orders come in. Traditionally for Frostgrave it has resulted in a $35US pledge, getting somewhere between 3 and 5 extra models (metal, often monsters), and some little bits and bobs.

I'd like to pick a Warlord pledge to build a KoW army but the 20% postage cost makes it more expensive than online discounters with free postage so I guess I'll have to wait for retail - I have no real interest in Frostgrave itself or any added extras, pity as I'd have liked to have help fund the plastic set through the Nickstarter.
