Bigger question is why is anyone ordering from the GW store?? I guess it is pretty awesome paying full retail

Store is 2 minutes from my house, why spend petrol to go elsewhere.

Looking at the pre-orders on GW website, there isn't any chance of getting anything early or even on time for this release. Unless you want to pay £11/14 shipping charges for a chance that includes Saturday delivery.
My local said on FB that they could possibly reserve me a codex if i can't make it in to order.

Darksphere mailed out saying their preorders will be mailed out on the 10th, if you take the next day delivery it should be there on the day. With that postage it works out at RRP (for a single codex).

You do realise you can buy and get it shipped to your local store for free from the gw website?

Yeah, they also gurantee it for Saturday. See my OG post.

Not heard of them before so thanks! Good deals. But you have to order Special Delivery as Parcel Force 24 won't come on Saturday. Problem being i want to see the codex first before i buy. As tbf, there's a hell of allot of stuff. And for all i know i might want an old model

I've also read GW don't fullfill their orders from independent stores on release sometimes. So that would be annoying.

I hope our codex comes out balanced. I've heard a couple guys talking about codex hopping to it already, so hopefully its not over the top, out of balanced to ward away from the trendy players. I kinda like being one of the few nid players at my FLGS

I just hope for more than one great list, other than the one currently used by just about every nids player.

Same here. I prefer a drop list but that might have gone out the door as well.

Something I really hope for in the codex gallery is a picture that show us how a dual-twin-linked devourer flyrant is "supposed" to look like. Given that the points cost for one was apparently given in the WD it is still a legal build, but I'd like to know how its supposed to even be modeled. I've always assumed that the hind legs of the new HT kit (which look like they are also supposed to by scything talons) are replaced or something...

So instead you're spending 20% more for like 30 cents of gas? Odd logic..

Saying as the model doesn't include the bits to do that, I think the best 'official' word you'll get is the Flyrant conversion from the WD battle report with Tfex arms.

This thread is getting a bit stale... here are some Haruspex rules to spice things up:

It would be great if the Pyrovore gets some decent rules this time. Poor thing.

Mauler fiend - CSM got a melee beastie bot that moves 12" and has melta cutters. I see the haruspex being a mirror of that.
Forge fiend - 24" plasma cannon, there's our analog to the exocrine probably.
Heldrake - s7 vector strike, ap3 mouth gun. Crones anybody?

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

So I'm curious to hear what other people think of using the old Armourcast Exocrine and Haruspex models with the new rules. Are they too big? Do you think people would object to their use?

I've been wanting to dust mine off for a while.

Do you have a pic of this flyrant by any chance?

Not in a Nissan Skyline driving 25 miles to the nearest alternative.

Would cost me about £8 each way.

It's on the GW site. They're doing the usual trick of selling the battle report army with zero discount.

Thanks. Doesn't look half bad actually. Guess that's the way I'll do it.

So looking at ways to make genestealers better I can only think of 2 things that might speed them up:

Adrenal glands allowing run+assault for fleet models.

Or

Onslaught allowing a unit to run & shoot (like now) or alternatively run & assault.

Between the two wishlists I think onslaught is more likely if either could happen.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

So... are Exocrine's Elites? I ask because usually when a kit has multiple options and those options appear in different FOC slots, the kit appears on their webstore in multiple places. The Haruspex/Exocrine kit only appears in Elites.

It could just be a mistake on the website - it is a new kit after all - but are we sure the Exocrine is HS?

The Exocrine shows up in HS in the WD, so there's a mistake somewhere. Question is, which is wrong?

To echo tetrisphreak, I also hope adrenal gives run+assault to fleet models. I don't care so much about stealers, but want it on horms...

I think there was confirmation that the Haruspex was at least an Elite. Not sure about the Exocrine. I may well just be an Elite too. I'm not saying that GW are beyond mucking things up, but I'd imagine most of the web store options are in the correct place.

Am I correct in remembering that Warriors will be mostly unchanged but with a nerf to Boneswords?

Going to be buying an Exocrine, from what the WD says it gets a Strength 7 Ap 2 Large Blast. And the other mode of firing gives it 6 shots. for 170 Points that doesn't seem to bad. And from what I can guess it will be Toughness 6 with 6 Wounds and a 3+ save, what do people think?

If I need to order something I always do it from my local GW store. It's on the way home from work and I prefer that my local store gets credit for the sale. The local GW is really the only public place to play in my area unless I want to drive more than an hour.

Always Support your local store

The only models I'm really interested in with this release is haruspex and crone.

As the haruspex is an elite I can now do my crazy turn 2 entire army in cc build properly.

Just hope shrikes are still in the book and venom cannons are better, my shrikes need a work out...

Pre-ordered the Codex and an Exocrine (I can't resist! I've always wanted one!). The rest can wait until I'm on the other side of "January Bills Extravaganza!".

Don't have a local store, and when I did it was a GW, so no. I'll go where the price is lowest.

Exocrine in HS or Elite, If it only has one weapon i doubt it will ever see the table for me. At least one other ranged weapon to compliment or supplement its main cannon. Perfect world perhaps a thorax swarm type weapon as well to put it on par with the Tfex gunbeast style.

Never underestimate the Genestealers ability to sweeping advance EVERYTHING!

Yeah, I don't know what the state of official GW store-fronts are elsewhere in the US, but around here (upstate NY) our options are limited to mom and pop FLGS. I would normally support them, of course, but one has disowned GW products and won't carry anything, and the other speaks of it with such revulsion that I would feel badly having them special order anything.

As such, went with good old Miniatures Market, and for about $350 have a healthy 1500pts or so of starter army on my hands.

11527pts Total (7400pts painted)

4980pts Total (4980pts painted)

3730 Total (210pts painted)
