So here is my first repaint: Luke’s X-Wing and an after market E-Wing (Shapeway design by Gosric).

However, the craft suffered from some significant problems when first deployed among front-line squadrons, including malfunction issues with the laser cannons and the new R7 astromech units. As a result, many pilots continued to fly upgraded versions of the venerable X-wing.”


The X-Wing was painted on top of the already fine pre paint. The E-Wing was harder! The model design is absolute superb. However, the material Shapeways is still using is BAD. It is soft, seems to soak up the colour and has a lot of rough spots, and that using the Frosted Ultra Detail material. However the overall result after being painted is still OK IMO.

I love the paint job. The X-Wing looks incredible. The E-Wing looks a little fuzzy, but that's probably more due to the 3D printing.

Do you plan to do a repaint of the Millennium Falcon?

Indeed the 3D printing is still something not perfect.

Unfortunately the Falcon is not my favourite ship design, so it is pretty low on my list...

Sweet looking fighters,everytime I see some of these figures causes me to wish I would get into attack wing.

The TIE/D automated fighter, or droid/drone TIE fighter, was a TIE series starfighter used by the reborn Emperor Palpatine during his attacks on the New Republic in 10 ABY.


A Tie, a Tie Interceptor and an after market Tie Drone in frosted detail. I should have selected Ultra Frosted Detail, everything else is not doing the 3D sculpts justice!

Have to say the tie drone is not a pretty ship, even by tie fighter standards.
