Subject: Edge of Tomorrow Trailer (think Ground Hog Day, but with Exoskeletons and Explosions)
It has Tom Cruise in it, which means it has to be epic before I even give it a second glance though.
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Colour me interested. Seems quite like that X-files episode called "Monday", in which they re-live the day until they get it right with only one woman really knowing what's going on.
My favorite "Relive this moment" episode is from stargate Sg-1.
But this looks cool, but im calling it now, the aliens are succeeding in their invasion because they all have the power to travel back in time and redo, allowing them to perfect their invasion.

0.0 That book's been sitting on my shelf for ages. I liked the cover, but had no idea what it was about. Heh, cool, I may actually get around to reading the thing now.

Didn't know about the manga, but seems interesting. Still, it reminds me of the second story in the Hyperion Cantos. Colonel Fedmahn Kassad and Moneta's.
Maybe worth taking a look at, even if it's only for the neat near-future military gear.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

I think it looks great, and I think the much-maligned Tom Cruise doesn't get the respect he should for being a guy who is really willing to take chances on movies that aren't "safe" choices between paycheck roles, especially in the sci-fi arena.

This one, perchance?
OT: Tom Cruise needs to stop being in good movies, I can never quite manage to forget the fact that he's a Scientologist loony and it takes me out of the story.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

I may disagree with the opinions/religion/politics of my favorite actor/sports player/entertainer... but, I can set that aside and enjoy their work.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Agreed, I find Mel Gibson despicable (and hilarious) yet I love Mad Max.

Well to me the difference is that say Mel Gibson has some reprehensible personal opinions , he really isn't hurting anyone.
Tom Cruise champions, defends, and is a true believer in a cult that kills, kidnaps, and abuses it's members, and does everything it can - legal or not- to keep it's scam going. There isn't even the quasi excuse that he was raised in it or something. You're free to disregard that if you want, but I personally feel like going to watch his movies and continuing to prop him up as a star is directly aiding Scientology to continue it's miserable existence.

How do you guys feel about the principal from Ferris Bueler?
Oh, and I've had All You Need Is Kill in a box for about a year. Hope I find it so I can read it before the movie comes out. But I think my copy was a novel, not a manga.

I think that at the time of watching those movies no one knew he had a predilection for teenage boys, or at least photographing them, which is quite different from knowing Tom Cruise is a Scientologist. He has been excommunicated from any major, and even most smaller productions since it came out. His career has been effectively dead for some time. Of course, we have far more evidence that R. Kelly likes underage girls yet he continues to be popular.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Its a light novel, not a manga. Light novels include a few illustrated pages, which is probably where the confusion came from. According to the wikipedia page though it is receiving a manga adaptation though.

If he was still making movies, I wouldn't go to them. It's not complicated. We give celebrities their power through our paying of attention to them. If one of them did something terrible and everyone stopped going to their films, it would rob them of their power. Sadly we are not conscious enough as a species to do that, on the whole. It doesn't mean I have to embrace it.
