As hilarious as it is, it's still nowhere near the worst. Why, there isn't even a badly-photoshopped space marine biting an ork's shoulder.

Badly photoshopped SM!?
Picture!?
I think it was one of the first Space Marine Battles covers, but the part of the image I'm thinking of might be obscured on the cover as opposed to the unaltered artwork. It made a big splash on Warseer back in the day. I'll look for it.

You may recall the "Visions of war" that Bl teased a short while ago.
This is to be unveiled at 13;00 today.
However the main GW site states and then links to the yet to be activated BL page
http://www.blacklibrary.com/Home/visions-of-war.html
Visions of War is a new Black Library art anthology featuring cover and internal art from the Space Marine Battles series.
This hardback First Edition is limited to just 1000 copies and available exclusively through the Black Library website. Follow the link below to get your hands on one.

http://www.blacklibrary.com/Home/visions-of-war-limited-edition.html
About this edition:
Strictly limited to 1,000 copies, Visions of War is a lavish, full-colour hardback book presented in a premium quality slipcase. With 128 pages of art, including close-crops of key scenes and characters, and huge gatefolds, Visions of War shows off the art of Space Marine Battles like never before. What’s more, extracts and quotes pulled from the books sit alongside to provide an atmospheric read.
About the new stories
Helioth is a Scythes of the Emperor story from L J Goulding that tells the tale of the dramatic final battle of the Chapter's Second Company. Additionally, the White Scars tale The Thrill of the Hunt from Anthony Reynolds follows the sons of Chogoris as they unleash their blistering fury against the alien eldar.
On designing an artbook
Visions of War brings together every image ever to grace the cover of a Space Marine Battles title, as well as a selection of the best internal illustrations. It showcases even more of the panoramic spreads normally hidden away beneath text, under spines or even behind printed flaps. Resplendent in full colour and with multi-page gatefolds, Visions of War is a lavish artefact that celebrates some of the best Warhammer 40,000 art ever commissioned.
£40 -- or £45 ( which will also net you a service stud-- see earlier in the thread) if you want the digital wallpapers too.
Looks nice enough I guess.
Might pick up the regular version at some point.

Huh, well that shows you the result of BL's policies - I was eagerly anticipating the release of the previous two of Mars books, but I didn't even notice the third one was out until Amazon suggested it to me while I was buying toothbrush heads, hah.
At least you can still get some BL books at vaguely-normal book prices(£5-odd cheaper for the hardback on Amazon than from GW/BL direct), but I suppose it won't be long now before we end up with the same release shedule for everything; £40-50 super-ultra-special-premium hardback, £18-25 regular-but-still-overpriced-hardback, then wait ages for the £12-15 trade paperback(oh, I'm sorry, "premium paperback", yes the BL site actually calls them that *facepalm*), and then you can maybe pick up the basic normal book that a lot of folk wanted in the first place when you go to collect your first pension cheque.

AFAIK you're correct here.
The industry as a whole has pretty much moved to to the slightly larger sized format.
E-book today -- one might query a wee bit describing this as a book, as such, but as it's a HH tale by Mr Wraight that carries on from some very nice bits in Scars I'll be picking this up later.
http://www.blacklibrary.com/horus-heresy/daemonology-ebook.html
THE STORY
Chagrined by his defeat at the hands of Jaghatai Khan, Mortarion abandons the pursuit of the White Scars and instead leads the Death Guard in a spiteful, punitive rampage across the systems of the Prosperine empire. World after world has fallen to this horrific onslaught, and yet the insular and secretive primarch seems preoccupied by some other, unspoken goal. Finally, on Terathalion, the truth of Mortarion’s sinister heritage will be exposed, and the future of the XIV Legion will be written...
READ IT BECAUSE
The Death Guard have already embraced treachery, but this story follows their Primarch as he continues upon the road that will eventually doom his Legion to a plague-wracked damnation
and also coming soon
http://www.blacklibrary.com/exclusive-products/sons-of-wrath-first-edition.html
This is the story of the origins of the Flesh Tearers Chapter, forged in the bloody aftermath of the Horus Heresy. With the Blood Angels Legion divided, first Chapter Master Amit must unite his Chapter with a new purpose lest they fall prey to the curse of their blood.
"Darkly soulful and streaked with gore, Andy's Flesh Tearers are the savage heart of the Blood Angels' bloodline."
- Aaron Dembski-Bowden
ABOUT THIS EDITION
The Sons of Wrath First Edition is presented as a luxurious hardback, presented in a magnetised display-case. Alongside Sons of Wrath, you’ll also find the bonus paperback Born of Rage, featuring a new Warhammer 40,000 Flesh Tearers and Horus Heresy Blood Angels story. The First Edition of the hardback itself is individually numbered and contains unique internal illustrations.

Well of course, why wouldn't they; for a very marginal increase in production costs, they charge the customer almost twice as much. I actually prefer trade paperbacks to read, but just knowing I'm being ripped off makes me much less likely to buy books that release in that format.

Bought and read it last night.
A nice enough little tale indeed.
Sort of bridges the events between "Scars" and "Vengeful Spirit", at least with regards to Mortarion.
Certainly sets him in a certain direction anyway.

The short story in question does indeed deal with that issue.
This weekend is the third BL Weekender.
So we should get some snippets and images.
Recommend this twitter feed : https://twitter.com/blacklibrarium
I'd also urge caution however as it turns out "BLW2014" is the official hashtag for "Black Library Weekender 2014", AND "Bristol Leather Weekend 2014" which offers the opportunity for all manner of misunderstandings although Slaanesh will presumably be at home with either.

I believe you'll have to wait a short while and then order it from the BL website.
Gav THorpe confirmed to be the 3rd End Times ( WFB) author. Mention of Malekith...
Guy Haley also doing one..... he does love greenskins -- Skarsnik is superb buy it if you haven't already -- so maybe that'll deal with Grimgor et al ?
Chris Wraight is also writing a Space Marine Battles book : " The Hunt for Magnus"
