A space marine captain is three service studs, right?

3 x £45 = 135 divided by six months = 22.50 a month

22.50 a month is manageable for most BL fans and would have probably resulted in more uptake and BL making some profit from the increase in attention.

6 studs is BL shooting themselves in the foot.

Yeah the news was a real bummer since it's been delayed multiple times now. I just hope it's not health related. Releasing another Sabbat crusade anthology is nice but if they want to expand that conflict more I'd prefer they just let somebody else write a novel set in the crusade. I enjoy the greater development of the setting and I'd buy another book like Double Eagle or Titanicus even if it was written by somebody else.

I consider myself a fair sucker when it comes to black library books. I know my weaknesses and I like pulp fiction wrapped in nice clothes, telling stories about a silly world I still love as an adult. I buy only the hardcover heresy books, I've bought most of the limited ed's in the heresy and two of the 40k first ed's so far it's nearly embarrassing saying it out loud. Also plenty of the 40k limited books etc etc. And I think the service stud offer is UTTERLY CRAZY and kind of insulting.

note their keen editing department forgot that 2014 already has passed us by . I'm guessing 2015 is what they meant. Still $450 worth of books to get a free one

$450 is not that hard to hit. That's what, like 3 first editions and a LE micro-novella?

A VISION OF THINGS TO COME...

Hey readers,
We have something very cool on the way at the end of this month – Visions of War. We’re not giving away too much just yet about the contents of this book, but there are a few tantalising clues hidden in this image.

Visions of War will be revealed in full on the 31st of October.
To be amongst the first to find out the full details about this new title, and to receive an email update when it goes on sale, set your reminder now.

That’s all for today.
Thanks for reading,

- The Black Library Team

We'll find out soon enough eh.

So, a 40K version of the Visions of Heresy artbook/s then? This could either be brilliant, like the aforementioned, or they could carry on with their recent pattern and make it a super-limited ludicrously-expensive release bound in the hand-cured hide of unicorns and pixies, in which case they can get it up 'em.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Holy crap@this service stud thing. GW sure ran BL into the ground. The days of going to your local book store and picking up a small paperback of the latest HH novel are long gone.

Looky Likey

They have enough good or better artwork to fill a double volume, the question is if they'll bother to use it or just stick to the new stuff.

I bought the limited edition of Visions of Heresy as over the years its been a big inspiration to my armies. I'd buy this just as quickly if it looks as good so I'm hoping for a decent preview on the 31st.

As sure as eggs are eggs there will be a non limited edition for a third of the price in six months time.

Didn't know where to put this so this seemed like as good a place as any. GW updated the FAQs for WH40k on the 22nd.

Some new weapons options for space wolves stand out as well as new movement rules for super heavy walkers in regards to difficult terrain (They now double the highest dice rolled for moving through difficult terrain).

Im wondering what happened to the guys sword on the right side of the picture . If you line up his hands, as he's grabbing the handle with both of them, he either forgot to activate the power field or he needs some 'male enhancement' drugs

So I devoured The Fall of Altdorf this evening/night. Pretty intriguing story...

Not as high a body count as the previous book, but still some notable deaths:

Spoiler:
A weakened Louen Leoncour gets killed by Festus the Leechlord, after he banished Kugath plaguefather.
Festus is killed by Vlad Von Carstein right after Festus lands the killing blow on Louen.
Kurt Helborg is killed by Otto Glott.
Karl Franz is killed and reborn as...
The Glottkin are killed in the fiery birth pangs of a new god.
