Will it ever be released as a mass market item? I haven't followed BL books too closely for years since they made the switch to full on greed but I was under the impression that the "novella" books never make it to the physical bookstores as solo items. Am I wrong about that? The blurb posted about the wolves versus alphas says it is a novella.

I gotta say, that cover is nice. I do believe the Alpha Legion (team Horus) deserves a good butt whipping i'm sick of reading Loyalist dieing porn lol.

As for the Alpha Legion shining, i'd wait till the scouring for that, where they trick Gulliman into thinking he's killed Alpharius....

or did he?

Is this only true for a subset of the novellas? As far as I know the limited edition books like Promethean Sun haven't made it into mass market paperback yet?

I will say this I have just finished the new khorne novels and shockingly it actually got me to like the followers of Khorne. The khorne deathbringer in The solace of rage e-short by Guy Haley is one of the most interesting khorne followers so far in my opinion.

All I have to say stuff is going to go down in the death realm and realmgate wars is getting a 5 part audio book series dealing also with a certain von carstien who readers will be screaming at the stormcast not to trust.

Can't wait to listen to it, after reading all of the age of sigmar novels I have to say that I am impressed and can't wait to see what the future holds for the setting.

Have BL decided that only 20% of their customers read and 80% are just collectors who like to have the books lined up on their shelf?

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

The really sad part is that their shifting formats and spine designs have probably turned away all the true collectors.

Possibly. I have about 60-70 BL novels and a bunch of the old special edition stuff, and I haven't bought anything from them for two-three years.

I think the last BL book I bought was Fire Caste, and the size was mildly annoying and the book was crap.

Let's see if I can predict the plot of that Space Wolf novel.

The Alpha Legion corners the Space Wolves through numbers and/or deceit and all seems lost, the Space Wolves FIGHTING BACK HEROICALLY and GIVING THE OVERCONFIDENT TRAITORS A BEATING as they fight with their backs to the wall, but their numbers and/or deceit seems too much for even these heroes to handle UNTIL HEROIC REINFORCEMENTS/HIDDEN TWIST/STROKE OF GENIUS happens and the Space Wolves manage to beat back the traitors and depart! :O :O :O

Spoiler:
Now you won't need to read the book. No need to thank me.

Currently ongoing projects:

I think AL suffers from a similar issue in BL books as they do on the tabletop ie a dearth of talent capable of doing them justice.

If there are an unexpected ally I think it has already been mentioned in the Visions series, although I would need to check.

I do though have faith in Chris, if it turns out anything like Scars then I will be a happy bunny. I'll just have to wait for it to be in an anthology or read it in the shop when it finally gets there.

Alpha Legion sucked some major arse in "Scars" too. Apparently White Scars are more secretive than Alpha Legion.

Ha, the Dark Angels are so closeted and secretive that the Alpha Legion can't infiltrate them either.

Well, at least, according to the backround from FW, DA are one of the few legions AL fought together with no problems.

I was more saying from a quality perspective, Scars is one of the better heresy books imo.

Adrian Gabura – Mr. Gav Thorpe, how do you see the relationship between the Alpha Legion and the Dark Angels, and the two Primarchs thnx?

That’s a very interesting question, one that I’ve not really thought about. I would say that there is almost no relationship. They are, to all intents, at opposite ends of the spectrum, one being the First, the others very much the last. There would not be much opportunity for them to cross paths. The Dark Angels’ highly traditional and sectarian nature made them ‘immune’ to intrusions by the warrior lodges and I would say has acted as a similar buffer to infiltration and manipulation by the Alpha Legion.
