I'd be VERY happy with a "Primarch Origins" series, and even more books set in the Great Crusade (or, dare to dream, the Unification Wars!) - provided we weren't hit over the head too many times or too hard with DRAMATIC FORESHADOWING OF ALL THAT IS TO COME!!!

Or provided that it isn't drawn out longer than the actual Great Crusade. I'd imagine if the Primarch series was done like the HH then the book about the Ultramarines would end up being a 100 issue series that more resembled The Office tv show but without the humor.

Sounds cool. I've only liked a few books and plan to stick to those about the Thousand Sons at this point.

I wonder if the Crimson King that's nearing completion will end up being in the Primarch's series.

I'd love to read more about certain primarchs. And this gives them the chance to expand on them even though some basically don't do much during the heresy.

I want more on Perturabo!

I like the 1/2 page Unification Wars and Crusade Era stories in the FW HH Books. A novel length version of the Emperor fighting the orks at the Ullanor Crusade would be the epics.

Anyone purchased a gallery print yet? Any thoughts on quality versus a standard poster?

Primarch series only really needs to be 20 books with 2 being accidentally destroyed while going to the printers.

Well, there was a short story by Haley titled Iron Harvest that featured Bannick and his new tank and crew versus the Dark Eldar. And Stormlord featured a distant relative of Bannick's dealing with some of the fallout of Bannick's choices in Baneblade, and having a mission with the Baneblade variant.

Although all were by Haley, I would recommend Stormlord over Iron Harvest. The characterizations in Iron Harvest seemed 'off', which is odd as they were done by Haley. Anyway, I did not like it as much as Stormlord, and it's brief, but memorable callbacks to Baneblade were well done.

Y'know i read it and I don't see what the major issue is.

I mean sure it's predicatable, sure somehow this huge space battle ends up with the main characters having a sword fight, sure nothing gets accomplished but for hecks's sake it's a Black Library book.

It just didn't strike me as much worse than 100 others I've read. heck I have vague memories of the good guy World Eater and the Female Space Captain from Saturn and there's more than I can tell you about some of the others.

The Pharos audio drama is up again, now called Heart of the Pharos.

The legacy/MMPB version is supposed to follow on about 9 months or so from the 1st release AFAIK.

Google seems to suggest Deathfire came out July 2015, so I guess we're about 7-8 months after it's release.

So he might well mean he's seen it/knows it's been ordered, is about to come out.

Isn't Fabius' knowledge of 'genetic manipulation' actually second to the Emperor, at least?

Maybe Fabius knows more in total having spent all that time messing about for fun

but the big E knows more about how to do it right?

He's been holding his breath waiting for the non-special edition date to be released. I hope they tell us soon or Fulgrim might not get the chance to cut his throat.

Well, it's one of the first HH books I just couldn't finish, so that gave it a distinction. Nowadays, it would probably seem downright peppy compared to Fear to Tread or whatever last depressing yawnfest I last struggled with, Back in the day, though, BFA stood out as one of the first filler books in the Heresy series, and it really wasn't very good next to Flight of the Eisenstein or A Thousand Sons or Fulgrim or any of the books that came out around that time. So now it has a reputation that makes it an easy target for mockery. Add to that the general tone-deafness of BL releasing a reprint of a book with a bad reputation in hardcover "for the fans", and it becomes our duty to point and laugh.
