I think Pythos would've worked if the story had been done earlier on.
As it was the idea that marines etc etc would be surprised by the existence of daemons, magick etc etc had pretty much all been covered previously.
There's some cool new products on the way :
http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products
The 13th wolf certainly sounds interesting ....
The 1st of the Primarchs series gets a regular release -- in hardback -- soon.
This is to be followed by Chris Wraights Russ book -- which delves into the infamous rivalry a'twixt the SW and the DA
Guy Haley written a Primarchs novel, 'Perturabo: The Hammer of Olympia'. It features the early days of his upbringing by the Tyrant of Lochos, and also his vengeful decimation of the populace once they rebel against the Imperium later on.
Gav Thorpe is writing a Primarchs novel focusing on Lorgar & David Guymer is planning a Primarchs novel focusing on Ferrus Manus.
Mr Goulding has a book coming out too : a SMB novel 'Slaughter at Giant's Coffin' -- featuring the Scythes of the Emeror, which while 40k also has many links to the Heresy and particularly the events surrounding the Pharos.
which isn't too much of a surprise perhaps but he's done some nice stuff before so fingers crossed ...
Corax comes is on order this Saturday
http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/corax-ebook.html
"After Isstvan, after Deliverance, the Raven Guard still endure. Their primarch Corvus Corax has rallied countless warriors to his banner, striking back at the forces of the Warmaster on every front – from the degenerate hereteks of the Mechanicum to the cruel legionaries of the Sons of Horus, none shall escape his wrath. But although Corax has managed to stall the physical corruption of his own Space Marines, what of their spirit? And what sinister end must await those who dwell forever in the darkness?"
The anthology contains my brand new novella Weregeld, bringing Corax’s legend to its grim conclusion, plus all of my tales of the Raven Guard in the Horus Heresy since Deliverance Lost – the novellas Soulforge and Ravenlord, along with the short stories The Shadowmasters, The Value of Fear and Raptor.
http://gavthorpe.co.uk/books/legacy-of-caliban-by-gav-thorpe/
is out now/soon too -- and well worth picking up too.
from a recent event where Mr Thorpe gave a reading we glean the following HH/Corax titbit
Gav gave a reading from 'Corax', from the brand new novella 'Weregeld'. It featured Corax being led by Bjorn through an apparently anonymous warzone to where the VI Legion had built a stronghold from two crashed landing ships. The Space Wolves had been crushed by their MANY enemies (including the Alpha Legion, World Eaters and Thousand Sons) and Leman Russ was so badly wounded that he was delirious and babbling about the Wolftime. He made references to having failed in something important...

According to that BL coming soon page it's just HH and 40K until the end of November, so I'd be very surprised to see a new faction, legacy army battletome or big book before xmas, and that's what the novels are tied to

I wonder what that will actually be about, since they changed the story so much and we already know that it wasn't Corax's 'fault' at all - it was all because of...you guessed it!...the Alpha Legion!

Have they released any paperback anthologies that contain the Garro audio dramas? I'd love to read about the early Grey Knights or Malcador stuff, but don't want a lot of audio. Also, any recent releases with some good Custodes or Genestealer action?
Is there any chance the Beast Arises will be released as an omnibus or two down the line?

I bought it on the pre release a long with a few others! This grey knights book is how all BL books should look, awesome stuff. I like Annandale's writing, I know he's not everyone's cuppa but I enjoy him it's an easy read which is what I like from pulp fiction.
Took me ages to get onto this preorder page, its kind of hard to find.

Do BL even know what an ordinary, basic, paperback book looks like anymore?

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.
"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks
-----
"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal |

It looks the same as my BL budget these days: non-existant.
I miss the days when I would be buying 2-4 BL books a month in good old MMPB, with omnibuses to collect stories with the shorts.

We know that but Corax doesn't does he? He knew that the Alpha Legion were putting their oar in but he didn't know what they had actually achieved. I'm not sure if this was covered in later stories though as the last one I read with the Raven Guard and Alphas was Deliverance Lost.

I think that's why they do the paperback omnibus editions and electronic versions. They are super value if you don't like hardbacks or premium editions.

There's a Garro omnibus coming out which will apparently have all the audios and shorts and novellas in there but presented as a whole novel i.e. it won't be presenting each story as a different bit with start, middle and end but will actually be one continuous narrative.

Flip that's awful! In the U.K. they are around half the price of a hardback and 1/4 of the price of a limited edition.
