Hmmm, it has been so long since I saw the movie-- the first one. Where Han shot first (yeah, I'll go there). But I was very much looking to keep a desert motif, so sounds like I did And the things are expandable too. Maybe I'll fit out a whole table... When I have time again.

Brilliant. Utterly and completely brilliant work.

So where can one play on this stuff? You mentioned having stuff at the Nova open before- will the new stuff be going there too?

FYI we have both Fix's amazing Haqq table (with the mosque and ghetto) and Deflater Mouse's insanely high-output scratchbuilds here in the Seattle area. If we could get all this stuff to one tourney, like Feast of Blades in Colorado... it would probably cause a black hole of awesome. Or at least a serious upsurge in interest in Infinity if well-photoed and put on the webz.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Last appearance was at a tournament at Victory Comics, Va. in September 2013. Can't say when the next appearance will be. The monthly tournaments there are on Sundays now-- and I've got all sorts of RL stuff that day-- so until that changes... Or I motivate myself to drive the gazillion miles out to Glen Burnie (either Games n Stuff or Dropzone) for a tournament...

I am debating whether or not to have a table at this year's NOVA Open, since I am not sure I'll even be in town that week-end. I'll know more by the end of May. There will be a few logistical issues to iron out first, but I do like having my stuff at tournaments.

Link to Fix's work, please? I am well aware of The Brilliance that is Deflater Mouse. Love his stuff.

Not terrain related per se, but here are some pictures of my solution to the '55mm' base *problem* I only have 3 minis that are affected. I will call them base coasters

I used a bit of blue-tac (the yellow stuff on the base) to hold the base to the 'coaster'. Now I have the 'right' sized bases Including a few 25mm ones. I think I will do all my minis on bases like that. I really dislike the 25mm bases they came with.

If you don't like the pattern I used ( I did it to match some custom markers I made) you could always do something like this

Those are Great Base Coasters.

I was looking for Gary Gnu for a second!

I just reviewed your other terrain thread for the third time now...and then I remembered you had that "other" thread you mentioned...wow...

my first reaction was of melting...your work is so amazing...

I have to ask... all this ...what is your background? are you in any way associated to architecture? there are so many brilliant ideas collected here...I like these flowing lines, the look of a fitting and convincing modern sci-fi architecture....your two threads will probably get bookmarked to have them for quick access on my PC to have a quick look up for reference....

thanks...really....thanks!

That is absolutely stunning, I don't think too far to say that when you start to see the crossover between model building/painting, and what can really be called 'art'

Out of interest, are you an architectural engineer or something in RL?

@ Pacific: No. But I did take a bunch of Mechanical Drawing and Architectural Drawing classes in High School. This was before CAD too, so seriously old school training...

I'm guessing you were distracted by the pictures Happens to me all the time when going through P&M threads. Thanks for the compliments. Plus the default font size is a bit small here.

I will add that I did a lot of woodworking too. So I'm sure that influences how I approach terrain bulding.

This is the thread for the photos of the finalized Infinity stuff I'm working on. I think to use the P&M thread for WIPs and assorted other projects. I have some vehicles to convert at some point...

If you want more WIP stuff of some of the work shown here see http://infinitythegame.com/forum/index.php?/topic/15959-the-great-space-er-base-coaster/ , but I'm only going to post finished or near finished stuff there from now on.

You make terrain that I just love to look at.

Serious skills.

Captain Killhammer McFighterson stared down at the surface of Earth from his high vantage point on the bridge of Starship Facemelter. Something ominous was looming on the surface. He could see a great shadow looming just underneath the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, slowly spreading northward. "That can't be good..." he muttered to himself while rubbing the super manly stubble on his chin with one hand. "But... on the other hand..." he looked at his shiny new bionic murder-arm. "This could be the perfect chance for that promotion." A perfect roundhouse kick slammed the ship's throttle into full gear. Soon orange jets of superheated plasma were visible from the space-windshield as Facemelter reentered the atmosphere at breakneck speed.

Here comes the Comfort Station Zebra. All finished and entry is submitted. Lots of Pix. Not so many words.

The HVAC unit1 and the stairs make for nice partial cover positions, and so does the roof vent and window section.
The interior is playable too, with the space large enough for a 25 mm base in much of the area, and one can place the mini or something else atop the walls for those areas which are too tight.

And here it is with a few of the Hab module pieces. (This is not part of the entry, BTW)

This was much fun to build. Now to get it on the table, eh? Oh, and to get some minis painted. Three contests in one year is enough I think. Time to relax for a bit until Operation:Icestorm arrives.

Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to visit my P&M blog here http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/583487.page.

I'll see what I can bring to the NOVA. It'll have to be Metro Rail transportable though. But The hab module set should work.

Thanks for the compliments guys. There will of course be more to come. Nothing gets the creative juices flowing like a hot new edition eh?
