Stunning work. The thing I love about your work is you use such every day material and get such fantastic results. That building looks so solid and real. And a table full of this will look a million times better than thousands of pounds worth GW prefab. Simply inspirational.

Great job, final result was really worth the wait!

Outstanding dedication and attention to detail, as one has come to expect.

I'd vote on those if they were in the Gallery (Hint. Besides, I usually get to browse on a tablet that, somehow, has recently decided not to show the pics inserted into a post any more, so, if you don't go through the Gallery, I have to wait until I can get to a proper PC to see the nice photos =)

First world problems, Littletower. Final photos were in the gallery as of last night. But processing them apparently takes time. Ah, but you will have to go to my gallery directly, since the photos in the post are hosted on Imgur, not on the Dakka Gallery. Makes 'em undeletable by say, moderators

Thanks all. The problem is that the next building has to be as good, or it will look out of place.

No squatters. But renters...

Besides, it's the 2015 Shame, 2016 has only just begun, no Shame until 2017!

Yes Ruglud, progress. A good thing. Now to make a dent in the unfinished minis collection.

These are the ones I've selected to finish before the my order of the next Infinity book, Human Sphere, arrives, along with a, erm, modest assortment of minis-- 7 to be exact. I'll have 'til probably after 8 May, but no later than 20 May ( estimates) so 30 days to paint 9 minis. Or finish painting.

Yeah, some are almost done. Why make things hard on myself

I was playing around with an idea for the Malifaux showgirls.

Trying to make it look like satin. Needs work. Much more blending, and I think stronger highlights. Satin reflects light almost like metal, if you think about it. Suggestions? The details on the dress are plenty deep, so I'm not so worried about paint build-up. The rest of the mini however, I'll need to be careful.

And the Light Flamethrower Naffatun, WIP. First on the to be finished list.

Thanks for stopping by.

I find posting my pile of shame a carthartic process that helps to motivate me. Why I entered the internets in the first place.

I think the dress is almost there. Maybe a very fine coat of a gloss varnish on the highest points? May as well let natural light assist?

Digging the show girl in the red dress. I think it would be cool if you did the trick where in her unarmed hand she had some blood dripping off of the finger. You can do it with a blood effect + a piece of hair or thread. It would add a lot of dynamism to a stellar looking paint job. Cant wait to see her rounded out, especially if she turns out like the biker.

It does look sort of pretty, no. And base coated is maybe 1/3 of the battle for me.

Cleatus, Confession is good for the soul.

Slaveto Dorkness, that would be better than a storage shed of shame, or whatever those rental places call the storage rooms.

Archer, I was thinking of 'floating' very thin layers of a bright red. By floating, I mean thinning it and mixing it with some liquid glazing compound. It is a way to achieve a marble or granite look. I'll need to experiment. The advice I've seen so far is use a metallic paint like silver or gold and mix it into the red. Not doing that. I don't like metallic paints anymore, at least not on minis.

Lorax, The mini is making a "come hither" motion with its finger. Dripping blood might be a bit of a dissuasion, as cool as it would look. Of course, there is that freaky sword it has. So maybe not.

Almost done with the Naffatun

Maybe tonight I'll finish. That hair is some strange stuff.

Thanks for dropping by.

Do you guys still have the package limits? Truth be told, I really must finish all the pieces myself. It is a pride thing at this point.

No progress Monday night. Read "Consider Phlebas" since it was available (finally) as an ebook from my local library. Digital book loans last for 2 weeks, so one must read them quickly. Tuesday night however, finished it. I may touch up the hair and helmet a bit. Some close-ups.

Next up will be the Akalis (mini on the far right in the group shot)

She looks great, a bit of an unusual pose to be trying to fire a weapon with though.

I really like the colour of the fabric. Comes up very nice and the yellow/blue stripes are fantastic.

Che, se me perdió la religion, hace muchos años. (you do know the American expression?)

Only the R.E.M. version, though I don’t think that´s what you mean, is it? Or maybe as in losing one’s temper? Or maybe losing your marbles? ‘cause that would explain a lot...

Do you guys still have the package limits? Truth be told, I really must finish all the pieces myself. It is a pride thing at this point.

There are still some limitations on, but lessening gradually. Hope to be back to normal (or as much normal as it gets hereabouts) soon enough.

Read "Consider Phlebas" since it was available (finally) as an ebook from my local library. Digital book loans last for 2 weeks, so one must read them quickly.

Bank’s “Consider Phlebas”, right? I should have guessed the Culture would appeal to an Infinity player, very opposed to 40K’s grimdarkness and oppressive society. Liked it?

Since I’m here I might as well comment on topic too: Painting looks great, good job. Like the hair as is, maybe the helmet could do with one more highlight on the top.

Pose might be slightly strange, even for a flame thrower, but the paintjob is excellent.

R.E.M. as a band from The South, was using the expression correctly. It means to be going crazy, losing one's marbles &c.

Yeah, Banks. I'm ambivalent about the book. I see why it appeals to so many, but I have read much better. His writing is good. His storytelling is mediocre, at least in this book.

Thanks Archer. Good to hear about the color, since I'll be using it quite a bit for this faction.

Thanks Slavetodorkness. It is an older mini too, but well done. The whole Haqq starter pack is well done ( which is partly why I play Haqq. Yeah, I chose my faction for the minis. It worked )

The pose, guys, appears to be a modified "Chick Lean" Ask Mr. Google. it is a real term. Look at the images. In RL, it is due to the weight/balance/size of the weapon. Small people-- men or women-- or people with not much upper body strength tend to adopt it when first learning to shoot. When I was 12, I had the opportunity to shoot a flintlock musket, which is a large and very heavy thing. I recall struggling to hold it level, and my firing pose was, well, a 'chick lean'. For the record, I did hit what I was aiming at. Shoulder hurt for a while afterwards. Black powder weapons are some messy things too. Fun times...

Had no idea chick lean was a thing. It's a good day when you learn something new.
