Spoiler:

Hey 2nd ed beret stormtroopers are back. Those actually look really excellent. Probably one of the better plastic infantry kits they've ever done. Shame they're so expensive it would be hard to run more than a squad or two. If these guys were ~$25 a box like the command squads I would pick up enough for a platoon. Instead, I'll proxy their redheaded stepchild brothers from 2nd edition

H.B.M.C. wrote:Big, buff, and brutal. It's like the best Arbite/Ork vehicle ever released. Not a Guard vehicle by any stretch of the imagination though.

Spoiler:

That actually looks almost salvageable. Some of the more ridiculous bits, like that terribad front grill, and the front tracks that look like they're completely incapable of turning need to go. The turret and the cab look pretty good though. I like the twin assault cannons (yes, there's two, one is almost obscured by the glare though)

I have a feeling that if this had far less imperial iconography on it, people would be much more accepting of it. Imperial Guard vehicles are known for being very plain, because they need to be cheap and fielded in mass. There's no point putting a ton of fancy emblems and stuff on them when they're usually not expected to last a month in the field.

This would imply that this vehicle might be a "special" vehicle, reserved for elite forces or stormtroopers.

That, or GW has completely lost sight of what the Imperial Guard is about. If these things are just a reskinned chimera and available to everyone, they'll be sorely out of place.

I could see myself considering one, but only if most of the more extreme emblems can be removed or left off without much effort. Maybe taking off every emblem but the lion for example, giving it some front tires instead of tracks, and replace the door with a regular looking hatch, and you would have a nice looking vehicle.

Ok, let me get this straight...

Astra Militarum = Imperial guard
Tempetus Scions = Storm Trooper regiments/Schola Storm Troopers?

And i dislike that new vehicle model. I mean, why!?!?!?!? IT doesn't fit the design precedents of IG/AM by any means, seems brutal enough for Arbites, but not IG. Really!?!?!?!?!

That APC is pretty ugly... could make for some good sales for the Dreamforge APC when it's released! Missed on the size of the titans, but might do better here

I'm sorry but that truck looks like an Orc with good taste designed it, or the TMNT's are going to drive it around to save April O'niell.

What is the difference between a Storm Trooper and a Space Marine Scout? The beret?
Taurox Prime sounds like a big mutated Tau with Synapse.
Also I heard, you like fenders, so ...
And can someone with tank experience confirm, that a turret like that would malm any driver or person trying to exit through the door?

Why is it online only? Is this a supplement? Is it the 'new' guard? (Because it hasn't got many pages). This is wierd.

If they made the APC had tires and took off some of the detail it would be pretty bitchin'. If they made the tracks shorter it wouldn't be so bad. If they had made it a half-track it would've been awesome. But... really, that thing looks like something out of 2nd edition. I'll just convert a Chimera thanks. Or a Rhino.

The Storm Troopers look good but they are just way too expensive. I think I'll pick up some Kasrkin or DKOK to use as my Storm Troopers instead.

The vehicle looks ok, I still think the 4 tracks look stupid and it should have wheels on the front. But mostly it just looks horribly un-IG. It just won't look good rolling up next to Chimeras and Leman Russes.

For the most part I don't want to see a new transport for IG anyway, gimme another tank or a Thunderbolt!

Would make a great Ork battlewagon though.

So now that we have much better pics of the new vehicle, what does it mean if you still don't like it? "You're just a hater/troll!"

Like others have said though, it's perfect for an Ork vehicle, but looks completely out of place in an IG army. Still don't like the tread wheels though, would have looked better as a half track with wheels in front or with actual wheels all around. The comparison to the He-Man tank earlier in the thread is very apt.

Is it Zinge that makes the sets of wheels?

Might be a good source of bits for anyone determined to "correct" the Taurox.

If you want it to look right it will be a lot of work, as the wheel/track guard is clearly shaped for a long track and not a wheel.

Eww, just no. This abomination isn't even close to the DKoK concept. They're supposed to be WWI in space, and their tanks match that concept. I'm not really sure what the inspiration for the new transport is, but it's certainly not a WWI tank.

Nope, it's more of an armored car. Sort of in between WWI and WWII styles. Just with track bogies instead of wheels.

I resent any suggestion that it looks like an ork vehicle. Ork vehicles have drivetrains which might actually sort of work in reality. Only the Imperium uses tracks which would be useless on everything but a flat surface.

The only hope I've got for the Taurox is that the Astra Militarum variant has wheels rather than tracks, but it doesn't seem likely.

Yeah, hopefully some enterprising 3rd party bits manufacturer makes a conversion kit that makes it easy to put wheel on that thing.

Anyone else thinking this release is meant to go with the imperial knights? A lot of the same design work is noticable, especially on the trukk. I could easily see me replacing the lionon the trukk with the insignia of House Raven...

It doesn't look open topped, but it does have what appears to be a kind of "slope" to the rear like a WWII German armoured car(specifically the Sd. Kfz 232).

I do have a sinking feeling though that it might be a replacement/alternative for the Hydra Flak Tank. If you look at it closely the "turret" is two parts. There is the part where the twin miniguns(assault cannons or potentially Punisher Gatling Cannons shrunk down to size?) are and it looks like they have decent elevation--while the other part is the turret proper where an operator could be situated.

It's a supplement. We've seen the Codex: Astra Militarum(Imperial Guard rename) cover and the Codex: Militarum Tempestus(Stormtrooper rename) covers.

Astra Militarum cover is a Commissar in front of massed ranks of Guardsmen with what appears to be a Baneblade cannon poking out over them, the Militarum Tempestus cover is a Tempestus Scion in front of what looks to be a warzone with other Scions behind him and explosions.

Also, for anyone who was curious about the "two missile Guard vehicle" that Ravenous D described in the Imperial Knights codex?

It's just a Manticore with the last two missiles being hidden by the angle of the photo.
