It's like they decided to give whoever sculpted the Stormraven conversion kit for Chapterhouse some more work.

I'd loot one for the Orks definitely.

It doesn't look open topped, but it does have what appears to be a kind of "slope" to the rear like a WWII German armoured car(specifically the Sd. Kfz 232).

I do have a sinking feeling though that it might be a replacement/alternative for the Hydra Flak Tank. If you look at it closely the "turret" is two parts. There is the part where the twin miniguns(assault cannons or potentially Punisher Gatling Cannons shrunk down to size?) are and it looks like they have decent elevation--while the other part is the turret proper where an operator could be situated.

Goresaw wrote:Why is it online only? Is this a supplement? Is it the 'new' guard? (Because it hasn't got many pages). This is wierd.

It's a supplement. We've seen the Codex: Astra Militarum(Imperial Guard rename) cover and the Codex: Militarum Tempestus(Stormtrooper rename) covers.

Astra Militarum cover is a Commissar in front of massed ranks of Guardsmen with what appears to be a Baneblade cannon poking out over them, the Militarum Tempestus cover is a Tempestus Scion in front of what looks to be a warzone with other Scions behind him and explosions.

In the course of scrolling through the various postings, and reading this one, I didn't scroll all the way down and what I saw was this:

And it looked, possibly, salvageable. The tracks look really, really dumb in and of themselves, but to put the frosting on the cake of their turdiness, they make the whole model sit way too high.

In short (pun unintentional), it needs wheels and it need to be lowered. THEN, perhaps, it can be made decent looking.

I don't know. The new infantry models look great but the tank thing looks incredibly stupid.

It could work for adepts arbeties.

Depending on the size and your converting skills this might be a nice count-as.

Comes with a cannon to boot. And in Japan I can get two for less than the price of one of the GW apocatruck.
I love the new stormtroopers and will buy a box at the very least.

The nice thing about the Taurox is that it finally gets away from the "two hulls per army" that we have seen for a long time. Yes, STC, but there have to be more STC designs than just the Chimaera and Russ hulls. And judging by the looks of this, it will be a different armor layout than the Chimaera. Maybe 11 all around, instead of the Chimaera's 12/10/10?

Maybe 12AV all round. That said, I echo the sentiments about the derpy tracks. What's with GW and releasing new minis that need conversions to not look goofy?

Maybe what one could do is to swap out the wheels from a trukk with the tracks from the Taurox. I am not sure how this would make the trukk look but it can only improve the Taurox.

That might do the trick but if you look closely at the track guards it's going to involve lots of cutting and resculpting.

The hilariously stupid name for the even more hilariously stupid reason for said names existence prevents me to take this codex seriously at all. That armored car looks hilariously bad too. Wheeled tracks? What? I get 40k vehicles are supposed to be impractical, but c'mon....

I was just thinking of ripping the entire thing out and just gluing the wheels straight onto the hull. It would fix how damned high the thing is.

The tank takes some cues from the MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush-Protected) and the Caiman armored personnel carrier. These vehicles sit up high in order to lessen the damage caused by IED's and mines. The only issue I have is the tracks vs tires.

That thing is ugly as sin.

I've got no idea what they're paying the jokers in the design studio, but it's obviously too much.

Anyone else think it would be entertaining if the Taurox actually replaced the Chimera entirely? As in, "would be entertaining to watch Guard players go bald from the stress."

That vehicle is the worst thing I've seen in 40k... wow. After the high of the Imperial Knight design to see this piece of crap is depressing as hell... I can't believe that passed the design team, marketing team and sales.

I speak solely for myself of course ymmv but I HATE that thing lol...

What is the purpose of thus kit? I can't remember any IG players trying to get their squads closer to the enemy faster, and vehicles aren't exactly great this edition.

Yep, it's sending me those vibes, too. A MRAP mixed with a 1920's Leyland armored truck or a Spanish Civil War "Tiznao" as seen through the eyes of a seventeenth century inventor during an acid trip.

Yes, get those Guardsmen into the teeth of the enemy even faster! C'mon lads, dis-embark.. dis-ehmBARK!

Not going to write a TLR here, but let's just say forgetting your uniform more than once back in cadets made me very 'keen' on what vehicle is called what and what makes it effective. Those vehicles all stayed in the armory lot, which is where this Apoca-Truck should've stayed!

Why? Why!? Does it have fenders AND a separate track assembly? Hmm.. it needs double armor! Yes, that's it!

Wait, how do we have this, and yet no leaks of the rumored Chaos Chosen?

Crap. Could those rumors have been totally off? This WD says the products will be available for pre-order on the 29th.

So.. We got this weekend of the 7th with the Helbrute pre-orders...
Then next weekend will be the 15th, presumably with Chosen preorders...
Then after that is the 22nd, which I suspect would be Astra Miltarum preorders...
And finally should be the 29th, which are the Militarum Tempestus pre-orders...

Right? That should be how it goes... right?

And FW infantry squads are now entirely affordable. If you're going to be making 10-men squads of those boxes... you're left with 30$ in your pocket if you buy any FW kit (from Canada, anyhoo)

By the way, Airfix has a very serviceable 1:48 kit that is modern, the Coyote, Supacat? Something like that. Not as armoured, but at least it has wheels.

Wow. That new vehicle is just awful. Not only is it an ugly design by itself, it doesn't fit at all with the existing IG concepts. Did GW fire all of their marginally-competent sculptors and replace them with the CEO's small children?

Well, Dale Stringer and Tom Walton, collectively, did the Imp Knight, and did the Furioso Dread and DEldar Venom individually, Dave Thomas brought us... Sammael and Ratling Snipers.

I think that there are three sculptors, two of whom seem to have a track record of pretty decent looking plastic kits, one who doesn't seem to have done so much, suggests where any faux pas may originate from.

I think saying that Stringer and Walton having decent-looking kits is an EXTREMELY generous assessment of their work.

The design of the Furioso was dictated by the design that Jes Goodwin did for the previous incarnations of the Marine Dreadnought, and the Venom is Jes's Vyper with Dark Eldar aesthetics. In short, if you want it done (40K) right, have Jes do it.

Though I am willing to entertain that 'Dale Stringer' and 'Tom Walton' are Cruddace and Mat Ward's sculpting nom de plumes.

Not going to lie I think the new transport would look pretty passable if it had big ass truck wheels instead of those completely ridiculous looking tracks.

As for the Tempestus Scions I'm going to sit on the sidelines as to whether or not they're the new Stormtroopers. From what I can see from their looks and tell by their names I'm going to say they might be more related to the Ecclesiarchy, more specifically the Schola Progenium. It could still be possible that we'll get a separate dual kit with Stormtroopers/Veterans of the Guard (Militarum) variety that fall more in line with the Diesel Punk/Old-Meets-New Military look. Either way I'm totally fine with them, and I think they look awesome, just that they may be a bit too flashy and shiny to be included in my army.

At $48 USD? I very much doubt it. Ork Trukk size, most likely.

Yah, new poster. Me thinks its a troll, because that is a terrible Photoshop job.

I am liking the new kits honestly. I run my IG as several different regiments working in tandem, so "not fitting" ascetics just means a different regiment.

They new infantry are boss, I will DEFENITLRY pick up some to make some IG commanders/ vets.

The new vehicle reminds me of an MRAP. I am interested to see it in person and not in that terrible blue scheme and to see what role it will take in the IG. I think it will be an uparomored chimera with more guns for only elite units. Like stormtroopers/ commanders get this tank or a chimera but the rank and file infantry have to ride in only chimeras.
