This is AUD$60, and is the size of a paint pot. GW don't price by size.

I know it's a bit big, but that's generally just because GW artsits struggle with perspective, and the placement of the heavy bolter just underneath suggests it isn't a Baneblade.

Could be a Demolisher Russ, but i think it might be a Griffon which would suggest new kit possibly.
The Griffon would have to be tipped over, chances are prolly a Medusa or a regular old Russ.

In the UK, The Paratroop Regiment wear red berets.
Makes perfect sense to me.

And both are obviously quite applicable to a special forces unit 38 thousand years in the future.

They're spec ops, not paratroopers, that'd be the Elysians

You're both right. Its a brighter red for the MPs with a darker maroon Red Beret for the paras.

Every single vehicle that is $55 AUD is Rhino-sized or about around there, with no exceptions. Anything larger is between $70 and $110 AUD. It's pretty obvious this won't be bigger than a Chimera, or not by much at any rate.

It's also priced $49.50 for Americans, which is the price we pay for Leman Russes, Basilisks, and other "Large" IG vehicles. By your logic, that would imply that this is actually a pretty large vehicle.

If anything, this is showing that GW might actually be starting to understand that Aussiebucks aren't completely worthless and have dropped the price accordingly. Weren't several of the Tau releases roughly equal to what Americans and Canadians pay too?

I think you've discovered what the new chimera price will be.

If the chimeras are moved up from 37.25 to 49.50, i'll be very happy I just bought my 6th (and last for a while) chimera. That's an increase in price of over 30%.

That is quite possibly the worst Guard vehicle I have yet seen, but it will make a hell of a battlewagon base once we get some wheels on it.

Plus, the leftover treads are most of 2 Grot Tanks! We're all winners!*

*unless you play Imperial Guard, you are most definitely not a winner.

Now that someone posted the battlewagon, I must admit that a "deorkified" version would have made for a much better APC than this monstrosity.

Care to elaborate? To the best of my knowledge, berets are part of the uniform for most armies nowadays, including British, Chinese, French, German, Russian and US, though I will admit, that the deformed US one looks stupid.

Some of us prefer our soldiers go into battle with HELMETS, not a beret.

I don't know if this has been asked or mentioned.. but what's the armament on this new Taurox? The big twin gatling cannons stick out immediately but there is some odd mounting on top of the read tread that looks like some sorta low caliber twin barrelled las-weapon of some sort?

There are helmeted options visible in the very blury magazine photo... Similar to the one the crazy leader is wearing.

I think the new transport suits the guard asthetic quite well actually (bar the tracks, wheels would be better).

I've always felt there were 2 seperate styles to guard, at odds with each other. You have the quasi future-real guard, including the Cadian stock troopers, Chimera, Karskin, ect.

Then you have the bulky, rivetted, archaic and almost metalsluglike Leman Russ tanks, Commissars, ect. I think the new transport fits well into this latter group (as do the new stormtroopers).

Maybe it's just because my son is into TMNT, but I took a look at the Taurox and thought Shellraiser.

Obviously there are important design differences, but that's where my mind went first. *shrug* My second thought was that it looks Technolog-y (as in the Russian Technolog minis). I'm not going to bury it yet, though. As I always say with these leaked pics, it's a 2D pic of a 2D magazine held at an angle, etc.

I really like the Scions.

It's the parents that buy for the kids and 70$ is a small price to pay for peace and quiet.

That new transport springs two things to mind:

1) They take their payroll transport seriously. I swear I will paint it in Brinks colors.

2) The Orks have a major win on their hands, I have never seen anything better for them to Orkify (it needs little help). Those tread "wheels" open the way for many other vehicles or self propelled field weapons. I think it will be used the most for anything OTHER than what it was intended. Man that thing is ugly when used in the context of Imperial Guard.

I'm into TMNT! It's so gloriously messed up.

The Taurox looks like some Orky thing, especially with the fat little track sections. It might be able to look cool with a little converting. I do very much agree with the sentiment that it really doesn't fit the Imperial Guard aesthetic. Unless they're doing a Dark Eldar-style overhaul of the whole line (which they probably won't, and nobody wants them to), it'll just look weird and out of place. Also, "Astra Militarum" is unnecessary and way less cool than "Imperial Guard".

Yeah, I didn't bring up the pricing thing because I thought it would be sized off it's price, it's just something I'd heard other people mention.

Though if it is only chimera sized and Chimera priced (points wise)... I wonder if this means the US and UK are getting a price hike on the Chimera, as it's quite a bit more expensive (money wise) than a Chimera there.

I quite like the Scions (silly name), but they look more like they belong in a different wargame altogether. They'd make nice Gue'vesa, maybe.

I like the scions, although I'm not entirely sure they fit in with the IG aesthetic for anyone who's army has been built in the last 15 years or so, but they do fit with the 2nd and to an extent 3rd edition stormtroopers better.

If used as a separate entity anyway I'm not entirely sure it matters, for me, as an attachment to my own homebrew space marine chapter and at some point a knight as well all in the same colours I think they will be nice models. The rules are secondary to me anyway at this stage, I spend far more time painting and modelling than playing anyway.

The truck just doesnt work for me. It looks ungainly, and very 'un40K'. The bling and iconography seems to be added to even get some tenuous link with the the setting more than anything else, and whilst I can see the comments about being a good base for orkifying, that can be true of many things that are outside the 40K universe.

The size of it will not really make a difference to that opinion, but I do think if its only chimera sized it will look even worse in the flesh, far too much going on there for something that small. if it is in fact bigger, much bigger, it will probably look OK on the table, but it will always look out of place in an IG army I think.

The Scions could very well have an helmet option in the kit. I'd be supprised iof they don't, and by the looks of the command squad they do.

Personally I like the Taurox, has a command tank look about it. And the hight looks about perfect to hide behind a bunker while the turret peeks over the top!

I noticed that the Taurox is a dual kit: Tempestus Taurox Prime/ Adeptus Militarum Taurox. So all the bling (and the weapon maybe) probably makes it a Prime and the standard one will look more pseudo-utitilarian.

Edit: still fugly

The transport looks cool. I wouldn't mind grabbing that up and adding some RPG netting to it and armored side panels to make it more like a modern MRAP, like this one.

Huh, that does look a bit like the Taurox. Seems they did base it off of a IRL military vehicle after all.
