No problem, real life gets in the way!

I have no purchase plans at the moment and am currently trying to paint a quarter of my collection of unpainted minis (it was 226 figures). The list of what I have to do, and have done is on page 17

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/480/583755.page

Currently for my Blood Angels I have quite a lot of stuff to do:

20 Tactical Marines
10 Death Company
5 Sanguinary Guard
5 Scouts
5 Devastators
1 Storm Raven
1 Drop Pod.

So still a fair bit to do...but the last few minis have re-invigorated my love for the army.

It's certainly a great start on those Blood Angels, and a decent chunk of the overall list, really.

Thank you Az. Have done another Ad Mech unit with a 5 man Vanguard unit with an Alpha and the dreaded Arc Rifle. These mark 34/57 miniatures done in my personal painting challenge.

Alpha:

And the unit:

And a bit of very early WIP on my Datasmith:

And have also started on the Exalted deathbringer:

Unit wise next up I think I will do my 10 man Skitarii Ranger Squad and my Sanguinary guard unit.

I think I will leave the wings off of the Sang Guard jump packs, to me they just look daft. Do others think this is an acceptable thing to do? I only ask as the wings are a big part of who they are.

Anyway thanks for looking.

Great stuff as usual! I definitely like the direction that Khorne fellow is heading in, with the bone axe.

I doubt anyone would complain about wingless SG; if a normal JP is good enough for Dante, it's good enough for them!

Thank you gents, as ever a little more progress. First my 2nd Datasmith, just love this miniature such a great design and a joy to paint:

And here he is with his charges, nigh on 300 points in game terms too:

I have also got 80% of my Sanguinary Guard done too, in the end I went with no wings as I think they just look goofy. Just one with Encarmine axe left to do now:

And here are the 4 of them with Dante, so glad i went with the 32mm base on him:

In truth I do not think they look great in pictures but they look just fine to me in real life, so I am content with that.

I have re-based 5 Devastator Marines for my BA onto 32mm bases so they are good to go and I will start on them soon.

As ever, thank you for looking.

Cracking work! The banner is superb, and I really like that gold you've got on the SG!

You must be pretty near to the target now.

The last Sang Guard will take me up to 40 of 57, so close. More importantly I only started my personal challenge on the 21st of August. So nearly a quarter of my unpainted collection has been painted in under a month which I am very happy with.

Oh wow those sanguinary guard are excellent, awesome

The compact blangels force is nice too, really coming together.

I can't get enough of your purple skittari guys, such a cool scheme. I'll bet they look good across from the blangels too.

Dante looks cracking on a 32mm base. Much more imposing. The Sanguinary Guard look really nice without the huge pinions attached to the jump packs too. I mean come on GW, we get that they're the "Angels of Death" and all but no need to make it literal.

Loving all of the admech, that purple scheme really does pop, nice to see a change from the red, black and white.

How on earth do you find the enthusiasm to keep going, been in a hobby rut for ages now!

Thank you for all the praise, it is not deserved. The enthusiasm comes from the desire to buy more, I am ill! I think really it is nicer for me to have painted stuff rather than not, and I justfind it a lovely way to relax and fill my spare time.

Beautiful work on the AdMech again, and I really love what you've done with the Sanguinary Guard. I don't think I've seen them without their wings before, but they do still look really good - and maybe a bit more practical (but just a bit!)

@ Ignatius-Grulgor: I do not really know, I think a hobby rut is not an uncommon thing for anyone. Just a desire to get things painted up I guess. Good luck in picking up your mojo.

Have had a slow week due to 2 reasons:

1:An epic bout of man-flu, so I felt like doing little but sleep and eat.
2:Buying a PS4 with Destiny:The Taken King, Metal Gear Solid 5 and Fifa 16.

But picked up the brush again yesterday and finished my last Sanguinary Guard:

And the completed unit:

Have started on a unit of Devastators, very early WIP. No conversion work bar a Frag Cannon barrel on the Missile Launcher. I may work on some troops some time this decade:

SanGuard are looking totally awesome! The power weapons are very nice!

Devs are coming along nicely, any particular reason for the ML conversion beyond aesthetics?

Indeed, the Missile Launcher barrel was rescued from a bots box and a bit knackered, so I had to cover up the badness of it. It looks better than I thought it would though,so I am happy with that.

Cool looking ML! The sang. guard are great, too.

I too have been distracted by video games the past day or two. A friend convinced me to go back to WoW and do a 10 day free trial. 3 days in and havn't hit any of my hobby goals for the weekend

I just can't say enough how much I love your purple scheme for all your mechanicus stuff.

I actually picked up a box of the tracked robots (their name escapes me) this weekend while I was at the FLGS just to paint up.

Keep up all the good work!

45/57 miniatures painted in my challenge, so nearly a quarter of my unpainted collection has been finished in around 6 weeks.

Nice devastators- that missile launcher looks mean as hell haha. I'm liking the eye lenses too, makes them really pop. Just need some decals on the shoulders (IMO)

Awesome stuff. Your BA collection is coming along nicely.

I really like the colour scheme you're using for your AdMech, the purple and silver work really well.
