Of course people are allowed to complain, but if he stopped playing 2-3 years ago, and still complaining about the prices? You'd have thought he'd have moved on by now, if he had really stopped playing.
There's absolutely no need to "move on" from reading these forums if you stop playing 40k, friend. This isn't some kind of pro-GW echo chamber. Everyone has the right to comment on any and all gaming news here. If you don't like a venue where you hear opinions other than your own blinkered ones, might I suggest you start talking at a mirror? Just a modest proposal.
People also appear to be laboring under the misapprehension that criticizing this stuff is somehow an all-consuming or particularly onerous activity for people like me, when really it's more of an afterthought. I log on, I see what Dreamforge & co. are doing, I take a look at the latest GW thing, and if it's bad, I jot down a line saying so. But if you asked the pro-Workshop faction, they'd tell you "haters" are sad, obsessed people who frantically hit F5 on their browsers just to find more things to fervently hate. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was due to a concerted and devious effort to paint anyone who disagrees you in the worst possible light.
PS. the Flash Gitz really are quite overdone, aren't they? Three separate magazines in one weapon, physically-impossible feed arrangements and guns so massive they'd require a shopping trolley to move around. I guess it's a logical progression from 80s-GW's use of large weapons to make troops easily discernible at tabletop view ranges, but I can't help feeling it lends something of a Looney Tunes aesthetic to the whole thing.

I feel that while overdone, it's the right level of overdone. Orks should be running around at with everything cranked past 11 and a kit that caters to that can't be bad in my mind.
Then again I feel Orks are at their best then their overdoing things so take that as you will.

It's more of a " If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say it" situation and not a pro-GW situation or moving from these forums. MetalOxide's comment was essentially useless and appears to only have been said to cause spite (IMO) than to add any new thoughts or ideas to the thread. It is their right to comment, but as MetalOxide has said they've stopped playing at 5th, another can ask "Then why bother commenting on something you no longer care for then?"
The Flash Gitz are YES, totally over-the-top, full of cartoonish proportions, physically impossible, and overdone. But this is perfect for many players and collectors BECAUSE they are ridiculous. This is 40k, and these are Ork Freebooter Flash Gitz. They fit their theme perfectly, matching the descriptions of them having over-the-top, flashy, ridiculous guns. If an Ork thinks it can work, and it looks like it from the outside, then it can work. (Not totally accurate but works)
Goresaw wrote: I'm actually disliking the gitz the more I look at them. They're really badly monoposed. Especially with ten of them or more. Every single one holding their gun the exact same way looking the same direction. Yes, some time with some green stuff and a knife can get some variation in there, but would it have killed them to make a slighty different pose? Not even space marines are so regimented
See above, and you get the same problem with shoota boyz and burnas. But people hardly complain because those smaller models are easier to convert. It does suck that they're all monopose, but as you said:it's nothing some time with GS can't fix.

Not playing the game doesn't stop me from reading the books and buying the odd miniature to add to my collection, so I think that I am allowed to voice my opinion just as much as anyone who does plays the game.

As a player, I'll never say something was too inexpensive, but if GW got this much right with every kit they released, I'd be much less bothered about their prices.
They could have made at least one git firing the other way. No left handed orks.

Here's to hoping that kill saws can be taken per model rather than swapping the whole unit out for them. If they are pseudo lightning claws, shred will be very powerful on them given how many base attacks they have. Five S5 AP3 with shred when charging, and at regular initiative. That fills a major hole the Meganobs previously had; two of them could have a reasonable chance to drop a carnifex before it could attack. Orks copy the weapons and tactics of their enemies, and I can totally imagine a nob seeing LC terminator shredding boyz and having the light bulb turn on .
Also, the Bulky and SnPUSR would be listed on the armour itself rather than the model.

I really, like the Flash Gitz. As others have stated, they fit very well with the fluff and the rest of the fantastic Ork range, which was the primary two reasons that I started this army in the first place. I may have become desensitized, because I was honestly expecting them to be even more expensive than they turned out to be. Still, you can get a lot of miniatures in other games for the price of two boxes straight from GW.
The only thing holding me back from buying them is that I still have 45 Orks on foot, 3 koptas, a biker boss and two vehicles to paint before I can justify buying something new for my Orks, especially since I'm not playing 40K at the moment. The Flash Gitz will probably be the first thing I buy from GW in almost a year.

This might be in the wrong thread, sorry.
People commented on this re the White Dwarf - but it surely depends on the new BRB, rather than the codex. We had the same tjhing with venomthropes; ni the new 'nid codex, a venomthrope gives all models within 6 inches shrouded. Everyone shouted that it had been nerfed because the codex wording said model, rather than unit. But the BRB specifically added that if one model in a unit has shrouded, then they all do. I would guess that's the same in the new BRB, but I"m waiting for the mini one before I shell out the £££. So it's quite possible the KFF hasn't been nerfed.
(Apologies if this has been answered in the interim).

If the KFF gives a straight up 5++ save, that's not passed on to the entire unit. Otherwise a squad of Marines would all get a 4++ if you attached a Chaplain.

Oye SquidBot I asked you a question a few pages ago I think you missed it :
you said that you saw a model for A new Warboss. Similar to the AOBR one but bigger and with a Squig at his feet.
I think we are going to get a new character for Orks that is mentioned in the 7th edition book Dark millennium.
The one I'm talking about is Grukk Da Face Rippa. He is said to be really big.
If the artwork at the end of the Ork section is his portrait then he does have a Squig chained to him.
So my question to you is did you see this new warboss with a Big Choppa or a Power Klaw?
If its Power Klaw then its definitely Grukk Da Face Rippa!
and we will be able to take part in his RED WAAAAAAGH! (end of the question for Squidbot)
As for the Flashgitz the box is as big as the Nobz box why is it that the Flashgitz are for 53$ and the Nobz box is for 25$???
why is the Flashgitz box more expensive than the Nobz? Is it that the Nobz will now get a price bump too???
If that is the case this is getting insane. A Box of 5 Nobz size models is being sold at twice the price. I hope the price for Nobz remain the same as I need another box of them.

I dunno, if it was just lightning claws, I probably wouldn't give them to meganobz. You lose a +2 to wound against about anything for a reroll (better odds on +2), you lose the AP 2, you lose the ability to Instant Death T4 models and gain... the ability to strike at I3. wooooo.

A re-rollable 3+ is better than a 2+ (89% vs 83% success rate) and a re-rollable 4+ is almost as good (75% vs 83% success rate), add in the bonus attack for a pair of specialist weapons and its a clear gain. If the saws are lightning claws, then on the charge they are better against any T3-T5 model were ID isn't applicable, and they're almost as good vs T6, but hit at initiative which matters on some cases (killing a carnifex before it can gib several meganobs for example). If you can have PKs and saws in the same unit, rather than swapping all for all, then mixing them up has a purpose.
However, the saws are apparently not a free switch, but rather cost +10 points, which is facepalm worthy. Taking away a 25 point PK and a 5 point twin-linked shoota, and then having to pay 10 points for a set of LC means they are costing them at a relative 40 points! All gains in killing power vs low and mid toughness enemies is lost, along with the ability to ID models and ignore FnP the PK has.
In essence, you would be paying points to keep your power vs some targets the same, but become weaker against everything else. That's one of the basic rules making mistakes GW seems to keep making. I'd say they need to hire someone with a grasp of math and statistics, but they already have a physics PhD on the payroll.
Automatically Appended Next Post: After thinking about it, the only real use for the saws (if they are +10 points) is to stick them on the "boss meganob" if he exists, and challenge anything that has a powerfist.
Haha, you fools! The tables have turned! See how you non-orks like it!

They would then be an auto-take for one model. An extra PK attack plus armourbane for ten points would be of great marginal utility to any ork army.
If mega-armour Warbosses can take them, the LC possibility would be fun; 7, S6 shredding attacks at I4 when charging. While losing S10 might make it not optimal, when was the last time you saw a Warboss use his I4? I was hoping for buffs to Big Choppas for this very reason.
In the case of them being double chainfists, I'd say you'll rarely see a Megaboss without them.

The new flashgitz are much more expensive than the Nobz because they are new and the Nobz are an old kit.
GW did what everybody wanted and stopped doing their annual price increase on everything which kept all similar kits (based on sprue number/complexity amongst other) a couple of years ago (or was it 3?),
so older kits will carry on looking cheaper and cheaper compared to the new ones which while annoying is far better than annual price rises and finding the Nobz were $35-ish compared to flash git at $53
