True, but I worry about what MY warboss will do to me if I spend that much on a book

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Multimoog wrote: It would make sense to have the new Green Mob table come into effect once a mob is whittled down enough that Mob Rule - which is a different rule entirely - stops being in effect. It would actually bolster a Mob that has to first fail a morale check then either get a chance to roll a 1 or get two chances with a bosspole. It seems like it's an effort to buff Orks again - note that the scan says that Ork morale is changed, not Mob Rule.
I hope that its just an addition and that above 10 models or whatever it was they are still fearless.
I run 30-strong Mobs, if we loose Fearless, I'm screwed, and I'll have to rebuild me entire army!!

...Which may very well be the point in GW's mind.
Yeah, screw that. If I have to start over, I might change armies again. I love the Horde army idea, that's why I got into Orks, loved how they played on the table. If I have to test for leadership with 22 Boyz still, I'm not sure I'll be interested in playing as much. That was the biggest strategy point, keeping the #s up to avoid that Ld 7 roll.

That's kind of ridiculous.
GW still sells Boyz mob box sets and has featured the models prominently in the new photos. It seems unlikely that they want people to NOT buy them. It seems like their strategy has been to introduce a bunch of cool new stuff that people want to add to existing armies (for all intents and purposes Flash Gitz are a new unit, they have almost nothing in common with previous models or rules) or use as a good core to start one. Making Boyz mobs be unplayable would seriously crimp their selling power - as it is, there's nothing in the Ork model range that's truly not worth taking in some form of army build. Yes, I think a Gork/Morkanaut is worth it and will be buying one with the new codex.

The unit composition of the looted wagon is kind of a fun misprint. It says Unit Composition: 1 Gorkanaut.
If this stops now with MANZ and maybe a mega armor Warboss I will be dissapointed. Wanted a cool vehicle or flyer.

deffrekka wrote: "vier megawumnen" that's 4 weapons on the battlewagon, so its possibly 4 big shootas or mega blastas?
1. Big shoota would be "fette wummen", of which you now seem to get several in a 10-boyz mob. It's plural for both, big shootas and rokkits in those troops-section descriptions.
2. Megawummen would be some sort of mega-shoota. I have no idea what that should be, but it clearly is bigger than a regular big shoota. If I can strap on 4 of whatever it is on a battlewagon, that spells awesomesauce.
3. I guess WDW just fethed up again with checking what they write, since there is no fast attack section but a second troops section for the dakka-jet, so I guess those jets are not troops, so that's okay.
4. Badrukk a HQ choice. That's what I wanted to see all along.

I'm just worried about the new Ld chart. If it's in addition to Fearlaess over X# of models too - ok, if the Orkz get e Ld boost - ok, if it's the new version of Mob rule - NOT ok. I'll build Grot Mobz and surround a KFF.

Yeah, we just need to see more before we can really know. Maybe 1-3 are all good results on the chart, 4 nothing happens, 5-6 are bad. It would be a huge buff to smaller squads of orks like trukk boyz who often go below mob rule very quickly and a 30 squad of boyz still takes a lot of casualties to even need a check. If boss poles let you select #1 at the cost of one wound / boy then it's still very good imo, even if mob rule was gone entirely.
I can't imagine orks need to roll a 1 (and only a 1) on a d6 to pass leadership, with no mob rule, they wouldn't be playable at all.

The whole white dwarf textbox translates something like this:
"Green Mob: Orkmoral is working completely different in the new codex. Whenever a mob of orks don't pass a moral or pinningcheck they have to roll on the green mob table. this can cause some radical consequences (from fleeing to figthing each other).
Because Andy bought every of his mobs a bosspole, he was able to reroll on the green mob table and changed the result several times to a 1 'born to fight'. This was good for Andy, because this keeps his boys till the bitter end of the fight. (In the end they want to have the loot, does matter if some of them die?) This really changed the game, because one or two brave ork-warriors bound whole tides of tyranids in close combat."

Not since the last we found him in the fluff. Judging by the popular picture of him facing off against Yarrick, I'd assume he'd be as big as a Dreadnought.

whatever the chart may be, its AFTER failing moral checks, so it could be a bonus
but this also implies that the bosspole doesnt give a LD re-roll
and it is possible (though very very unlikely (I hope)) the mob rule doesnt affect the leadership

We'll see...the chart could be great. I was kinda thinking it might be fun to bring a bit of Animosity to Orks, as long as it wasn't too crazy and ruin battle plans.

Well it doesn't star that this is the mob rule so i personally think mob rule will affect leadership values, this "green mob table" i believe is fantasy's orcs animosity for 40k orks

green mob just sounds like in addition to mob rule.. and it sounds better, as it means we might lose fearless (IE can go to ground now) but still get to ignore most, if not all, LD checks while at a decent sized mob...
seems to me like the green mob bit only applies once you fail a ld test, which would only happen if you are already whittled down I think?
either way, im not too worried about it, seems like boss poles are getting a pretty decent buff
also, where does it say that Ghaz as a LOW is "fact"?
I cant find anything that points to this besides random posters postings, can someone linky?
