Just finished watching it.

I've got to admit, I'm a bit annoyed that they skipped out on the best line in the series.

This really does feel like too big a departure from the books this episode. - And not in a 'this makes it more awesome' sort of way.

Truth be told, I'm a little disappointed.

Eh. I didn't think it was that big of a departure.

We watched it last night and it was ok.

Spoiler:

Dany stuff went down predictably - nicely done but sad to see them going in this direction................ah well, can't have her stealing the limelight from everyones oh so precious amnd super special:
Jon, who glowered a bit and got rescued. Loved the bit when Manse finally said he was doing the sensible things and simply bypassing the pitfully small band of defenders......
Stannis managed to bring a large cavalry force north of the wall without anyone noticing - impressive - strange how all the giants and mamoths that Manse "said" he had were nowhere to be seen............CGI costs and cavalry usually is terrified of elephants or similar.
Tyrion bit was good - although that must be the least defended and patrolled Castle anywhere...... Intrigued that Varys seems to be heading off with him.
oh yeah and we had BRan - cool zombies - and then he gets to live in a tree cave - which judging by the skulls scattered about its roots, feeds on people

Spoiler:
The fight between the Hound ants lady Brien. Man that chick can throw down. Even Arya and how she didn't kill him but totally picked the worst way to kill him. That entire part was gold

I'm also not a fan kid dragon lady what's her face. Kind of sick of seeing her parts in the show, at least I still get to see Baristan

I personal don't envy those show runners. Making a cohesive vision of SoFaI is ridiculous. Especially in the next two books. Thank goodness they know the ending and can skip the really, really pointless filler Martin put in. Not to mention trim poor story lines (**Cough**Dany**Cough**).

The showrunners really do not get enough credit for bringing such a disjointed story to our cable boxes.

As long as LS appears in Season 5, I'll be satisfied. To cram LS into the already jam packed finale would have been superfluous.

Spoiler:
They should tease and foreshadow LS's appearance through the early half of S5. Have various characters remark on attacks and raids by the BWB. Speculation on who might be leading them. Show a group of Freys being ambushed on the road and the survivors hanged, overseen by a mysterious hooded figure, with her face hidden.

Then in mid season, Brienne is captured and brought before LS, recognises her and BOOM! Unsullied heads everywhere spontaneously explode.

LS orders that Podrick and Brienne be hanged. The last scene of the episode is Brienne screaming "Sword!" Cut to black. The Unsullied are left gibbering confused wrecks until Brienne shows up again in the S5 finale, begging Jaime Lannister to follow her and help her "Save Arya Stark from the Hound".

One of the things I am most looking forward to for next Season is...

Spoiler:
the potential for Jaime Lannister to come face to face with the resurrected, undead Catelyn Stark. The abject horror, guilt and shame that he will experience when he learns what has become of her will leave him a gibbering wreck and he will NEVER be the same again.

Maybe this is what will compel him to fulfilling the "Valonquar prophecy" by strangling his sister Cersei.

I haven't really thought of the prophecy, but it would explain:

Spoiler:
the scene between Jaime and Tyrion where Jaime mentions something to the effect of "actually, we never did figure out which one of us was born first..."

No, it won't be Arya. As a child, Cersei received a prophecy from a witch that...

Spoiler:

1. Cersei would marry "the King", not "the Prince" and she would be Queen...until a younger more beautiful Queen would "cast her down and take everything she holds dear".

Cersei married King Robert, and not Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, who she was infatuated with and her father was trying to secure a betrothal. And Cersei has been replaced by Queen Margaery, who's "taken" her son Tommen away, and is about to strip Cersei of her political power.

2. Cersei would outlast her children, and then she would "die by the hands of her Valonqar".

Joffrey, her eldest child was poisoned. Myrcella was attacked and almost killed by the Darkstar, with her ear cut off and her face scarred. This is partly why she is so fiercely, homically protective of her children. Her children were prophesied to die, one already has and another was almost assassinated.

And "Valonqar" means little brother in Valyrian. Cersei believes that this means that she will murdered by her younger brother Tyrion, and he will strangle her (she has nightmares about this). This partly explains her visceral hatred and fear of Tyrion - he "killed" their mother in child birth, and she thinks he is going to kill her too. But fun fact...though they are twins, the books say that Cersei was born first, with Jaime clutching her heel ("Even at birth, he would not be parted from me"). So Jaime is also her younger brother and the prophecy may apply to him, not Tyrion.

3. Creator's friend Melara was also present and her own prophecy from the witch. Malara asked if she would one day marry Jaime. The witch replied, Melara would never marry but would instead die that same day and that her murderer was close "can you smell her breath?". Melera later drowned in a well, with the implication that Cersei killed her.

Parts of those prophecies have already come true.

The hints and foreshadowing all indicate that her children will die, one by one, and then she will be strangled by her "little brother". It probably won't be Tyrion, he's on the far side of the world, in,the middle of a war and the Siege of Meereen, and won't be returning to Westeros any time soon. I expect Cersei will be dead by the time he returns.

How about Jaime strangles Cersei for some reason and she stabs him before choking to death, causing an infected wound that kills him (or somesuch)? He knows her from a 3rd degree of seperation. Or something

But yeah, she's well cast for the role. I admit I didn't have a mental image of her from the books but the casting was well done. Though the characters I did have an image of....none of them looked like the show except Robert. Granted, the kids are all like 4-5 years older than the books so that wasn't going to happen anyway
