Agreed - thats what makes it annoying - been more sensible to wait till he came home to tell him - bad Dragon - no eating children..........also is it ever clear that he goes after humans in preference to animals - most carnivores find other animals more to their liking..................

I'm trying to remember for sure, but...

Spoiler:
I want to say that it is implied in the books that he might not have eaten any children to be in with and that he masters killed and burned a child themselves to frame the dragon after they saw the burned animals.

Thinking when the herder brought the body in and covered? Everyone assumed it was a sheep till the body was revealed and the "Herald" yelling at the guy to collect his money at the window or something till it was pointed out by Jorah that it was a human body and not a sheep body?

They have the Freys and Boltons. (Hahahaha,)

Who they themselves have no loyal allies.

Who I wouldn't call loyal allies, more "Allies of Convenience". The Boltons and Freys would just as soon stab the Lannisters in the back if it brought them more power.

In any case, neither is in a position to aid the Lannisters.

Spoiler:

The Freys are too busy subduing the Riverlands and asserting their new authority over all the disgruntled River Lords still loyal to the Tullys and Starks and angry over the Red Wedding. They're going from castle to castle, demanding allegiance and threatening a Siege if they refuse. Jaime Lannister is overseeing this operation. The Freys are also fighting an insurgency lead by the Brotherhood Without Banners with several Frey Lords being assassinated

The Boltons, meanwhile, are busy reconquering the North from the Ironborn occupiers, and trying to assert their authority over the North, a land full of Northerners still loyal to the Starks and also angry over the Boltons' part in the Red Wedding and their Lannister-granted position as their new overlords.

And to make matters worth for the Boltons, Stannis Baratheon has also invaded the North, gained the cooperation and support (though not outright allegiance) of the Night's Watch and been granted permission to garrison several abandoned castles on the Wall, gained the allegiance of several thousand Wildlings, gained the allegiance of the Mountain Clans of the North, gained the allegiance of several prominent members of Northern Noble Houses (such as members of the Umbers and Mormonts) and is marching his army to attack Winterfell.

The loyalty of several Northern Lords sworn to the Boltons is dubious, with the Freys and Manderleys inside Winterfell at each others throats trying to kill each other, some mysterious figure within Winterfell is carrying out acts of sabotage and murder.

Things really don't look good for the Lannisters, and NO-ONE is coming to save them.

Personally....

Spoiler:
With Stannis leading the northern houses in the Stark's name I think he would be unbeatable.

The Lannister's are screwed basically.

I hope the Boltons get their arses kicked in the siege of winterfell. And jon leads the armies of the north and south against the white walkers.

Spoiler:
Stannis is too zombified thanks to Mel's meddling, he'll be done for before the Others break through The Wall's defenses.

On the other hand, the Watch will have no choice but to burn Jon's body, and when they do, the true son Rholler will finally be revealed! (and it ain't poor Stannis)

Jon and fire are not exactly friends either though. He got burned pretty bad during the attack of the old master when he pulled the curtain down.

medieval medical science isn't exactly great for saving you when you get stabbed in the stomach
He saw the glint of steel, turned toward it. "No blades!" he screamed. "Wick put that knife...."
....away, he meant to say. When Wick Whuttlestick slashed at his throat, the word turned into a grunt. Jon twisted from the knife, just enough so it barely grazed his skin. He cut me. When he put his hand to the side of his neck, blood welled between his fingers. "Why?"
"For the Watch" Wick slashed at him again. This time Jon caught his wrist and bent his arm back until he dropped the dagger. The gangling steward backed away, his hands upraised as if top say, Not me, it was not me. Men were screaming. Jon reached for Longclaw, but his fingers had grown stiff and clumsy. Somehow he could not seem to get the sword free of its scabbard
Then Bowen Marsh stood there before him, tears running down his cheeks. "For the Watch" He punched Jon in the belly. When he pulled his hand away, the dagger stayed where he had buried it .
Jon fell to his knees. He found the dagger's hilt and wrenched it free. In the cold air night the wound was smoking. "Ghost," he whispered. Pain washed over them, Stick them with the pointy end. When the third dagger took him between the shoulder blades, he gave a grunt and fell face first into the snow. He never felt the fourth knife. Only the cold.....

Although Jon (as in his consciousness) may have warged into Ghost ro the Giant as his body died

Jon is for all intents and purposes 'dead'.

However, it's pretty clear that he's the true Champion of Light, and when the Watch burn his body, he'll rise again as the reborn Son of Rholler. At which point, Mel will likely flip out...

And I hope they die with tons of unresolved plot hooks attached to them. Actually, I would love for Dany to be eaten by a dragon. At a moment we least expect it. That would be pretty awesome.
Tyrion has basically no plot hook attached to him at the moment, so he can survive for some time if he wants to .

This isn't my book. I can do that in my book because I am pyschotic and I like killing all the characters who are too likable.

Martin can't do that because he has to maintain a fan base.

Jon
Cersi
Bran
Arya

Until the end of the book series. But he really doesn't want to kill children from the stark family because there are so few of them left.

Yeah, he totally lost all his fanbase with killing the popular Eddard Starck, and then lost all that remained with the red wedding. By the purple wedding, nobody was watching anymore. That is why nobody cared when Oberyn died, nobody is a fan anymore because killing likeable character will drive away the fan.

Err.
What?

That is your opinion.

Both of you have opinion (and both of you happen to be wrong )

There is a very large fanbase, and they had no lost that many readers. They may of lost you. But most people continued after that.

When Robb died, I really didn't care. He was my least favorite character.

Okay. So my point was that killing off popular character is part of what made the show famous, and certainly did not deter the fans. They love to rant about it, but they seem to actually love it, despite what they say. So killing those characters you listed would not deter the fan. So maybe they will all die gruesome death very soon.

Ahh give them all to Ramsey Bolton (and his in show girlfriend)

However Apparently Jon Snow is the most important and liked character in the books (Vomit) so killing him would be a bold move for GRRM
