I think by Xcom they mean something more along the lines of "humanity's best and brightest, scrapping together every resource available on a threat several orders of magnitude beyond our previous understanding of the universe. And dying in droves while doing it."
I must admit, there is a certain appeal. But at the same time, you can often undermine your monsters if you emphasise how squishy regular humans but still want a playable game (a problem X-com solved by removing the "players can conceivably win" criterion of game design). Same reason Cthulhu almost never lives up to its original potrayal.

Why cleavage armor? WHY?

That character is closer to what I wanted to see. The boob armor and having a good 1/3 of her torso exposed though really kill the design. So far, they aren't wowing me with the humans as they are with the monsters.
To be fair, compared to a lot of over showy female characters she is actually rather covered up. Yes she could have a bit more armor but its not too bad. As it stands it is forgivable. Curious as the what the rest of the human range will be, but yes the monsters are the real eye candy (or eye gouging... if that is a good thing in horror).

So, is Paolo Parente a caricature now or just really out of touch?
He manages to conform to all the worst stereotypes of his heritage (French-Italian). Trust me, if you've ever seen his FB posts, either on his own page or the various DT pages, there's a definite skeevester vibe going on. Still, Dust IS a great universe, with good rules and some excellent models. Plus, Paolo is pretty particular about miniature quality, so it's good that he's in charge of producing the 7 Sins models.

Heh, if only they did the "Scooby" gang as Heroes I'd be all over this... The Heroes so far are boring at best. I'm open to more cheesecake if done tongue in cheek. This is just silly covert cheesecake making her super intelligent and then dressing her like an idiot. I'd go with this if the description was "dropout with penchant for kicking ass" or "mute, but has mastered communication through body language - everyone understands a kick to the groin" This is just so devoid of humour and too stale to take seriously.
Still it's early...

But with this being a Guillotine/McVey production, I'm concerned over how the 'production' models will turn out.
I suppose if we don't get the "amazing miniatures from Mike McVey" and/or "From the mind of industry legend Mike McVey, and created by the finest artists, miniatures sculptors and game designers, the contents and play materials of the game are of the highest quality.. Sedition Wars : Battle for Alabaster represents the best that miniatures gaming has to offer" lines and get more of the Guillotine "board game" type of expectations...maybe?

Well with Dust Studios producing components... I assume McVey is involved purely in the sculpting process? If so... i'm absolutely thrilled as it plays to everyone's strengths.
