@Yodhrin
Ah, hehe, fair enough, I was talking about infantry regiments.
Some may remember this, Forest Brutgoths will be available from the start, the Mountain versions will be made available during the project being live. We will be announcing the launch date any day now.
Thank you!
the only thing that's going to change is making the maul and a couple of spear heads a bit smaller so they are not that exaggerated (we simply don't have time to make that change now, we have contracts signed and deadlines running). We will try making everything crystal clear so everyone's definitely sure to know what they are funding to be created.
With a little luck, we'll get to the "common" sci-fi and fantasy goblin armies as well.
Here's a very good presentation (in our opinion) of what the initial armies consist of.
Thank you.
Not a fan of the toads - the howdahs are awkward looking, and the toads themselves are really underwhelming. The goblins themselves and the big beasty look cool... but yeah, I'm only here for the scifi versions.
@highlord @insaniak
The reason we don't want to get people too excited about stretch goals is that they are just that, stretch goals. Our goal is to reach 25K in order to cofund the Forest Goblin army in hard-plastic. The rest we are prepared to take one step at a time, even if it means doing a different Kickstarter due to the huge costs involved and despite our cofunding.
Here are two teasers of the next hard-plastic kits we would love to create should we get the chance. We dare show no more than this.
Have a great weekend!
It's very early to show more than already revealed (we've only been live a few hours), so here's a very rough first teaser. We are looking forward to showing a whole lot more! :-D
Hi @lord_blackfang!
Actually it comes less than $1 per goblin (not to mention the quality and variety of bits included for each and everyone of them). We honestly don't think anyone else can match value for money what we are offering, we would be interested to see what we may have missed?! :-)
If the concept doesn't appease you, fair enough, that's certainly a different matter :-D
(Lol, truth be told I was sure you'd write down that a box of 25 goblins are $25 so it's exactly $1 per mini(!), whilst I was referring to the actual bundle offers where it's less than that!)

Only because of the resin characters added as a bonus in the pledge levels, but you're literally selling the goblin boxes at US$25 with 25 models.
For me, the prices work out to be the same as buying the GW night goblins, which also have the ability to be built as either archers or melee weapons, with command options included on the sprues. These aren't bad , by any means. Maybe a bit expensive for a KS campaign, but they're essentially on a par with the GW product, price-wise, as the additional shipping costs brings them to the same price as GW.
I'll likely back, both because I like the look of these, and to support you guys, but I can't see a use for more than 2 boxes (50 goblins would easily be enough for me to mix in to my existing models).
Just as an aside - 2x Raiding Party ($50x2) (at this point) offers better value than 1x Starter Army ($100) because you get 4 of the resin heroes instead of two. Obviously this can/will change with later stretch goals, but thought it worth pointing out for the time being.
Thank you @ingtaer. Here's hoping we reach as far as possible, there's so much stuff we want to show (but we naturally can't just yet, we have been live barely 20 hours!)
First social SG unlocks at 100 backers. We are fairly close now :-)

We have added a FAQ in regards to the wartoads. Some love them, some so-so, some simply do not! :-)
Since all the production is in our hands, we have added a FAQ if people tend to swap them, it's cool with us.
And here's the teaser we had shown elsewhere so might as well show it off here too, but we can't reveal anything else that remains no more than a locked planned SG.
At this pace by mid next week we can start showing more SGs as we estimate the project will have funded and moved forward towards them.
@RiTides
Thank you, we have worked pretty hard on this one (and piled up quite some work) and are looking forward to providing great value for everyone involved. Thing is people interested in the sci-fi versions won't see anything as that's what happened to a previous project of ours where we had revealed too much, too fast.
One step at a time. For the time being, it seems we are doing pretty well :-)
We appreciate everyone lending a hand by letting others know about the project. Much appreciated!
PourSpelur wrote: Any concept art for them Drottchins, sci-fi goblins yet? They're what I'm interested in.
I think they want to be sure and fund the fantasy versions first with only people interested in fantasy. Otherwise, they run the risk of people dropping out when the thing they want to find (sci-fi version, something else teased too early, etc. ) don't fund, which has happened to them in previous campaigns.
This, what @Gallahad said. We won't be showing anything that's not yet close to funding, we did the same mistake in a previous campaign, it's definitely not going to happen again.
What's very curious is people really wanting to see the Drotts and/or Drottchins but won't pledge (even if it costs them nothing!) before they actually unlock. Which, makes the whole effort, let's say not as easy as it could have been, lol! (thankfully there are those who think ahead and have already pledged, even if they don't keep their pledge in our opinion it's the smart thing to do and we appreciate it).
Take for example our Shieldmaidens project. We received like 20-25% in the last 48 hours. If we had received that earlier, we could have probably reached the 100K target at the end and rewarded all gold level pledge backers +2 free boxes of Warmaidens (that's an extra 40 miniatures!). Wouldn't that have been simply extremely awesome value for money? :-)
So you don’t want to show things not close to funding, but you desire a bunch of fake pledges that may or may not get dropped so that you can show off later goals?
If your market research shows that people are waiting to see something before pledging for it (entirely reasonable) then why not show those things?
I understand Gallahad’s point though, it’s a tricky situation.

@Nostromodamus
Yes, except they are certainly not fake pledges. :-)
It's not the first time we've seen it either, even here at Dakka there are people who openly state in other projects that they have pledged but they might probably end up dropping their pledges ("drop" is the verb most commonly used from what we read).
Our market research shows Forest Goblins in hard plastic is something people would like, yes, that's why we spend funds on it (not only the heavy cofunding of the actual project but also the complete sculpting, paid promotions, work hours, pretooling, trip expenses, logistics etc).
Now, this has various parameters naturally; we might have sculpts that people might not be enthusiastic about, we might have paint themes that don't excite people, we might have paid promotions that hit the wrong audience, the timing might be not correct with bad time of the year or other similar campaigns colliding etc etc.
Shieldwolf Miniatures is cofunding more than 50% of this project, just like we have always cofunded anything else we do on crowdfunding. Why cofund? Well, because we love what we do I guess. It's not going to be any more than that however, if hard plastic forest goblins have ever had any real chance becoming a realiity, it's now or never. Otherwise I think you'll all agree that the only thing this project proves is that there's simply no market for them, when a known manufacturer with 100% KS delivery status has tried twice and not met the funding target. We believe there is a market. Time will tell :-)
