Ancient Grudge was the warband expansion to the original game.
Considering they were selling the exact sets of figures that were included in that expansion as an add on, I'm going to take a wild guess and assume the rules for the warbands will end up in that KS exclusive rulebook.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
Have you thought about looking at the monster manuals and rules for D'n'D 4th? I've often wondered about running a fantasy skirmish based on those books where you simply pick monsters to an XP budget and then run it like a normal combat. It's grid based, very tactical, and reasonably balanced. It might take a long time to play if you get above 20 baddies per side of course, but the minion mechanic exists if you want a horde.
However, we still have that fantasy itch to scratch..
You can still scratch it hear. Go to the Mantic website, not the Kickstarter, and email them. You can get added to the backers list that way.
I had no funds at the time, and didnt have any moneys until well after the backing date and the close, but Mantic say I can still join the list for the pledges and back that way.
If you don't ask, you don't get.
n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
Might (hopefully!) be a while, since they still have 2 overdue KS to ship/finish shipping, and a third that is theoretically supposed to start shipping next week. And then a book that's part of one of the other, overdue campaigns.
They'll probably wait and open the PM/survey at the exact same time they start running a new KS. Because Mantic.
I have been promised an inclusion by Mantic, but they may forget.

Don't want to think about another Mantic survey -_- Pretty sure I skipped some options that I might not have the will to resist when the previous spending is out of mind.
Some new stuff on Quirkworthy, including a new wound mechanic and some balancing of dwarf and barbarian. Basically, you still have 5 wounds, but youll only be affected by the injured modifier once every white circle has been covered. Takes 1 injury for the wizard, 2 for the elf, 3 for the barbarian, and 4 for the dwarf. The dwarf and the barbarian also switched Dice stats, and the dwarfs feat now ties up enemy models for a turn.
They covered it in the last update on November 10th
Finally, an update on the Pledge Manager.
We are working with the folk at Mantic Digital to put together a new system that is both easy for you to use, easy for us to update quickly and can cope with all the demands of our finance and operations team. This is taking some time to get right but we are continually working on getting the system rolling.
We will be asking for about 20 volunteers to test it before we make it live in a couple of weeks’ time. We will need people with an attention to detail and can offer great feedback. Once this system is live, we can capture your contact details, what you want for your pledge – and you’ll be able to add on more if you like. We’ll keep you updated on progress. Thanks for your patience!
A few weeks sounds like they are waiting for new year, not much point in competeing with their own KS or Christmas for peoples funds.

Welcome adventurers to a new Dungeon Saga update!
Update #61
Angels, Daemons and Dragons
In this one, we’ve got news on the Pledge Manager, new concept art for the demi-god Valandor and Undead Demonlord Ba’el, plus a new look at the dragon.
Pledge Manager
Thanks to all of you who have dropped us a message volunteering to help test the pledge manager when it’s released.
This morning we saw an alpha version of the software and progress is moving along swiftly. We’ll have a version out to testers soon and keep you all up to date on when it’s likely to be released. We’re sorry we’ve not been able to get it more quickly.
Clash of the titans
We’ve had some new concept art in from our artists for Valandor and Ba’el. Check them out:
NEW! Valandor Concept
NEW! Ba’el Demonlord Concept
We’ve taken all of the feedback together on the Ba'el discussion and the artist has had another crack:
This miniature is still a work in progress at the moment. Certain bits are too big, some too small, and we may need more definition on the dragon’s skin texture to make sure it survives the transition to physical model. But otherwise he's looking pretty spectacular.
As we said, we’re still working on this moment, so feel free to let us know what you think.
And finally…
If you’re only interested in Dungeon Saga, please stop reading here. We’ll speak again soon! However, if you’re interested in a new Mantic Kickstarter and riding the last phase of the journey again, please keep reading on…
Speaking of the dragon, Valandor and Ba’el, all three of these magnificent beauties have made their way over to our Kings of War Kickstarter Campaign.
Shame the undead Hydra concept didnt make it. wouldve been slightly more unique... but then, it probably wouldnt have fit with the background. Ah well.
Yeah undead hydra was cool until they wanted him to be a demon lord antagonist. Doesn't really jive. Would be a really cool monster to have around though.
Paladin is pretty bulky, looks almost wow-ish.
I'll have to see a render or sculpt for the undead demon thing, it has potential.
Hey everybody,
Recently went to Mantic open day and was lucky enough to play the Alpha rules of Dungeon saga. We have many other videos on the Mantic open day so be awesome if you can check them out too. Thank you for looking
I was a little concerned having bought into this without really looking into the gameplay. The dice seem a little wonky, or at least not what I'm used to, but on the other hand it seems to work pretty well. Definitely doesn't look like I've bought into a lemon so thanks again for sharing the video

Thats disappointing, I really liked it as something different.
This year one of the most exciting developments to the Mantic range will be Dungeon Saga. It’ll give existing hobbyists a fast, fun, narrative-led dungeon crawl based around a set of stunning models. It is designed to also offer new players an affordable miniature game of the highest quality. The print run is already double the total number for the first edition of DreadBall, which we printed just 2 years ago. That total does not include any copies for our retail partners yet – so it could well be double that again, probably more. I will be surprised if it not the largest print run we have ever done. Fingers crossed.
The development is well underway. In the next few days we will be sending the core rules and quest book from the core game to our rules committee. Once the play testers have had a go at it we will get the beta rules out to all our backers to have a look and read through. As always comments welcome.
Work-in-progress Ba’el, Undead Demon Lord
I spent today going through the Adventurers Companion and that too is shaping up into a fantastic product. It will offer anyone that loves Dungeon Saga a way to dig much deeper into this gaming space. They will use this to create their own adventurers and see their heroes develop and grow into true legends! This will also be a stand-alone product so if someone has lots of figures and a big set of tiles they could use the DS system to play through in true tabletop style!
For anyone who backed this project – quite a few of you if I remember correctly – we have rebuilt the pledge manager from top to bottom. This has taken a little longer than we would have liked but it will be with you in the next week or so. It will also be the pledge manager we will use for Kings of War and other projects in the future, so once you’ve signed up you’ll not need to do it again. And please do read the next few updates for Dungeon Saga that we think you’ll love!
He looks good. - Way more personality than the artwork, in my view. One of the things I was unsure about with him was that the sketch looked more minion-ey than a character.
I did similar since I knew this is my type of game, and even if it wasn't, I'd end up with a pile of pieces that go well with a myriad of other games and systems I've already got.
Pledged for the base game and the bulk of the boxed expansions.
An added bonus is that boardgame plastic tends to be clumsy child proof, which is something often in demand in my household.
Plus, some of those monster boosters were really good deals. Going to stock up on that Abyssal Dwarf booster set especially.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
I dropped 200 on it, unless they come up with something *particularly* fancy, or I've had some kind of change of heart by the time we get the manager, I'm good.
