Never thought I'd see a mantic ks run out of stretch goals!

Plus if this is the mini kickstarter I hate to think what warpaths one will end up at?

Wow- no kidding about people needing to calm down. Some real trolling going on in the comments. Some people just don't realise the amount of work that goes into mucking about with images etc etc.

The spaced out stretches and the stretches for the updating of the dkh scenarios makes more sense now, I guess Mantic didn't want to run out of stretch goals early and played them as late as they dared. It would have been a bit of an anticlimax if they'd announced no new goals a day earlier.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Wasntv impressed at first, then changed my mind with the stretchgoals.

However I had to hold myself back, I simply couldnt afford to buy in at the moment, so I let inertia win over and let it tick down to zero.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Warpath would be fine for me

I... hope.

It'd mostly be tanks I'd be going for I think, maybe some plastic Corporation marines, if I want to consider continuing my cerberus theme that I'm doing with the ones I already have. Thanks to Deadzone, I already have as many Enforcers as I'd ever need.

I'm a bit worried that I'm at too many games now, to be honest. I'm currently at:

Attack Wing
X-Wing
Dropzone Commander
Dreadball
and Deadzone

Then adding Dreadball Xtreme and Dungeon Saga to my list may cause issues.

It doesn't help that my 'least' favourite game out of the bunch, Attack Wing, is the most popular.

Well, dang, if they did this, I would have pledged!

Looking forward to Warpath. I got one of their starter sets (still haven't assembled it!) and liked what I saw for the price I paid.

Does Warpath have an undead faction besides zombies? The zombies look a little silly, but survival horror in space is pretty common in movies and video games, and I'd expect some horror sf skirmish games to be quite possible. Aliens would be nice...

The plague faction via Deadzone.

Hopefully warpath is just some tanks for me.

I'm pretty sure that I spotted the name "Jimmy M Hewitt" there - what's the deal with that?

Yes you can

While you can, it's a bit of a jerk move, if you're planning to spend the money, pledge it, and help get to the next stretch goal.

Note really... mantic actively encourage people to do that so they suck every last penny out of you and don't pay KS fees on that cash...

And here of course Mantic ran out of stretch goals. Shame as many wanted to see evil dwarf dungeon, evil elf torture lair and human/elf stronghold evil heroes could raid! I wanted to see small expansion packs of a room or two, rules, mini quests/games and 1 or a few themed models.

I imagine Jake was just saying no, no more, I am but one man and you tight gits won't hire a second...

Course GW know there is no demand for this sort of game as a spacehulk style release

Presumably this was in development long enough that he worked on it before he left.

Are these form the original DKH?

edit: $970K, 5521 backers.

They need to add the Dwarf drill to the addons otherwise you can't play some of them.

Sooo...

If money is no object my final pledge manager tally will be...

$95 Early Bird
$25 Orc expansion
$25 Demons
$25 Dragon
$25 Black Fortress
$30 Dungeon Raiders
$10 Resin counters
$15 Acrylic Counter Upgrade

$250 - Hmm, might need to re-think that!

Maybe
$8 Dungeon traps
$8 Bone jester
$8 Dungeon critters
$30 Doom Guard

$54 - unsure about doom guard, will there be scenarios for them? Don't really have any CD models any more that haven't been used for Blood Bowl.

If I win lottery
$10 Hero dice
$10 Dungeon Dice
$5 Dice bag
$8 Twilight kin assassin
$65 Legendary Heros

Yep... The Reaper stuff doesn't have price on its side, I guess it comes down to what you want the model for. Bones are great gaming models for something that will rarely be used for more than 1 campaign.

Pledge manager in 1-2 months with a couple extra things supposedly.

Update #58 - Sep 12 2014
What happens next...

Hi all!

Well the shock hasn’t quite worn off yet – that was meant to be the small one! So, we’ve funded a ton of stuff and have already started writing and sculpting. But what next for you?

Well, in about 1-2 months time we will release the pledge manager. We need a bit of time to add all of the products to the system and bug test it for any errors. On this system you will be able to:
- Enter and/or change your address details.
- Select and/or change your pledge level.
- Nominate which add-ons you want to spend your pledge amount on.
- Add additional extras on, which will be charged via paypal or credit card.

This system will be live before the end of the year, we’ll keep you updated on progress as and when we have information to share. There will be a few new things on the pledge manager as well – some of you have asked for the dragon to be made available separately and there will be the Soft Cover Adventurer’s Compendium as well. We know some of you also missed the last few add-ons as well – you’ll get opportunity to pick them up then!

Until next time adventurers!

Yes I had zapped them a note asking how people could get the dwarf drill that is needed in a couple of scenarios and they said they would add it. I imagine other bits like that and some of their other 'characterful' models.

Hopefully chaps like these...

I missed the kickstarter, and haven't had the chance to dig through all the features.

Does this game support warband fighting, or is it just a straight Heroes vs Villains with one player controlling the villains (like Descent).

I'm looking for a grid-based fantasy skirmish game.

I think DKH had warband fights (like dwarves vs undead vs elves vs orcs), but I'm not certain. I'm wondering if this has a similar possible set up.

Well, backers get the classic DKH scenarios adapted to the new rules. So it would probably sort of work on a warband level... at least with some work. It all depends on how things develop though, last I heard, balancing custom scenarios was to be based on something like a points system... but who knows?

Try thinking of it this way.

Dwarf Kings Hold = Space Hulk in a Dungeon
Dwarf Kings Quest = Heroquest / Warhammer Quest / Descent

However....

There is a currently untitled thought going about right now for Mantic to be making a Games system that is going to bed more warband-ish, like Mordheim or Deadzone/Necromunda. The thought process behind this one is the concept of a Skirmish game set in the grounds of a castle.

Thanks for the info.

That last game sounds perfect. I like the ruleset of Deadzone a lot, but my group has always been fantasy so it never took off. Imperial Assault coming out pretty much killed any momentum I was building with Deadzone.

However, we still have that fantasy itch to scratch..
