I know that I don't post nearly as much as I used to, but I also support the notion that a couple (or even a handful!) of threads is insufficient. I'll try to post more to help further our cause.

Why not do a FFG forum section with a sub forum of Star Wars, sub forum of RPGs, sub forum of LCGs? Covers all bases for the FFG stuff. Then do a similar thing for Hasbro, which'll cover Magic, MLP, ST:AW, DD:AW, kaijudo, D&D...problem solved, yes?

You're kidding on that facepalm, right? The FFG suggestion broke down into categories. I didnt go out and list all the Hasbro ones, but that could be done as well (preferably by someone more knowledgeable than me on Hasbro material). The point was to show sub forums were doable, and they'd be within the edicts of manchu's post. So if you have nothing worthwhile to post, why don't you erase yours, hmm?

Management is not going to create subforums unless there is already a significant amount of discussion going on about the game. They've already nixed the idea of creating subforums for the various Fantasy Flight games before you even mentioned it.

These threads are all great examples of high quality discussion topics. No doubt STAW can support a lot of great content. The question remains whether it can sustain great quality discussion. So again, I encourage everyone who wants STAW to have its own dedicated sub-forum on Dakka Dakka to take the time to contribute to these threads and/or start similar new ones. And if you play Attack Wing with folks who don't have Dakka accounts, encourage them to sign up and contribute as well. If we do generate a dedicated forum, it would be great to have a wide collection of contributors offering insight and creativity. Thanks!

The X-Wing forum has been renamed to be the general Fantasy Flight Miniature Games forum, which naturally includes Armada and any other miniature games that FFG decides to produce.

Whether or not Attack Wing will get a dedicated forum as always depends entirely on whether or not their is enough conversation to warrant it, and we're certainly keeping an eye on it (and Manchu is making sure of that!).

As to why we didn't just make it the Fantasy Flight Star Wars forum (and allow Star Wars RPG & LGC discussion in there), the reasoning is because the rest of our 'other games' forums are based around miniature gaming (the focus of the website), so to suddenly have one manufacturer have a separate area where non-miniature gaming threads were being discussed would kind of open a can of worms.

Yes, at some point it probably behooves us to split the Board Games, RPGs & Card Games forum into 3 separate forums, but as always creating MORE forums isn't always (or even most of the time) the best thing to do, as it ultimately means LESS eyes looking at each particular set of threads, which rarely results in those topics suddenly picking up because of that.

I really like this idea. There will be a lot of SW games soon, and there are Star Trek hero clip and board games to discuss.

On the other hand, with DZC, FA,etc., it might be nice to have a consolidated spaceship games sub forum.

Right now, the only 'miniatures games' that FFG makes (according to FFG) are Star Wars: X-Wing, Star Wars: Armada and Dust Warfare. They classify Star Wars: Imperial Assault as a board game.

Please not it covers FFG minitaures games. Discussion of games like Arkham Horror and Edge of the Empire still go in the Board Games, Card Games, & RPGs sub-forum.

This one counts as a miniatures game as far as I am concerned. Although it is partly a Descent-like board game, it will also be miniatures skirmish game. I bet FFG will do the same with Descent eventually and then Descent should probably be discussed in the FFG Miniatures sub-forum as well.

I'm just going by Fantasy Flight's own categories. I have no opinion one way or the other.

I think some time had elapsed between my typing and hitting "post", though - so the specific context was lost.
