Yes, I took it with a gain of salt, but I still have my fingers crossed.

A sanguinary termy would be a sanguinary guard with invul. save.

We dont need new models, just improve what we already have. Can SG ever be competitive? i dont think so, but its an important improvement to begin with.

I thought the sang termies were a special BA termie kit? Or dk you mean rules wise it's like giving them an invul?

In terms if making them useful, bigger squads would help, as long as it came with a massive points drop. Even then, there's still be better options. Access to stormshields since we never get +1attack because of stupid 2 handed weapons.

I think the sanguinary terminators were really just the Space Hulk terminators and whoever saw them just didn't recognise them. About the same time (last December?) there were also rumours of push fit BA for a starter box - could they have just been the BA terminators as well?!

But for wishlisting - I'd love a clampack sanguinary priest in terminator armour! ;-)

That starter was supposed to include orks though, not bugs. Seems odd they just reused the DV box set instead of making a new one but oh well. I was truly looking foreword to the BA/orks set.

Why was it *supposed* to be BA and orks? GW probably had this planned out long before this rumor thread ever started.. It was never supposed to be anything other than what it *is*.

Post dark eldar saw an explosion of BA rumors from both known and unknown sources. Before then we had the huge false alarm that was the orks vs ba boxed set. Those have been the only BA rumor sets we have had thus far. I still keep remembering my conversation with the guy from LoWG who insisted we would see the codex released in december. But that would be a super odd thing for GW to do...

That's an extremely poor contribution. Kirasu clearly misunderstood what thatguyhasagun was saying - when discussing rumours, what's "supposed" to happen is obviously what the rumours are saying will happen, and not what is somehow preordained, fated, or "meant to" happen, so the jedi que sera sera thing was all wrong. Explaining that with the definition of supposed seemed fairly effective. It settled it thoroughly, from what I can see.

I'm joining th3maninblak and calling for a thread lock, this is cancer.

Leviathan is up for pre-order:
http://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Shield-of-Baal-Leviathan-English

From the description:

A major tendril from Hive Fleet Leviathan pushes through the cold void towards the Shieldworlds of the Cryptus System. Loathe to abandon a key territory – especially one so close to the Blood Angels’ home system of Baal - the forces of the Astra Militarum and Adepta Sororitas prepare to defend the region with their lives.

So no mention of Blood Angels yet!

Anyhow, I am surprised the Sisters are actually mentioned in the description. Are they going to be just butchered or not?

Fully had enough of all this bloody limited edition, collectors' edition, while stocks last fething shenanigans. If you want people to play your game, make all the gak they need available. GW will have nobody to blame but themselves when they go skull-tits up.

The stock that is gone was the stock exclusively earmarked for the webstore and preorders made through the webstore at a GW shop.

Shops get a certain number of copies allocated to them in addition to whatever their preorder copies were.

Is there a digital edition? Or, in other word, how long before someone can sum up the content for us ?

You chill out. If I were pissed off because *I* didn't get a copy, then you'd have a point, but I'm not - I don't want it - the point is these flash-in-the-pan products are killing 40k, and I grew up with 40k, so it bums me out. It pisses me off because it only caters to the hardcore, and the hardcore alone are not going to be enough to keep 40k alive. The fact that you can go and likely get a copy on release day instore is very little compensation - the point I was making is big flagship products from GW are consistently limited releases, and that's no way to grow the player base, etc.

I'm with Bull...raging on the inside.

I am in Indonesia, it's Saturday morning here, I just pulled up the website to see what was actually transpiring, and I see that the "Campaign for all Warhammer 40,000 fans" is greyed out and "Sold Out."

So, semantics and stocking issues aside, it's frustrating. Especially to someone without a GW shop or even a FLGS. So, yeah, I don't get the marketing strategy, and instead of being a bit excited this morning (though as pointed out "Baal" is the only BA-related item at present), instead I am vaguely bummed out.

It's almost as if stocks are a finite thing.

Given the lack of any language calling this a limited edition (which has been plastered all over everything that has been LE prior to this), I'd guess we're just looking at them having sold all the copies currently available. Which is actually a good thing for GW. Means, they underestimated demand which is not great, but way better than overestimating, lol.

There will still be the copies which were earmarked for in-store purchases.

Maybe I'm mad about the wrong thing, but it seems like this book would've been the PERFECT time to give SoB even the tiniest bit of love with some new formations and such, and instead GW have just made them a stepping stone for the Nids.

Unless there is stuff in the book that they done advertise?

If they have no rules at all, I think it's safe to assume that they are there just to get chomped as we know Leviathan goes deeper into the Baal system, don't we?

As far as I know, nobody has any idea if they have rules in the book or not. For all we know, maybe they are using this as an excuse to release plastic Sisters in two weeks, maybe they are using the same trick they used with the squat to justify removing all Sisters models from their product line.

The Squat thing wasn't a trick, that was a retroactive fluff nod. This would be proactive army obliteration. Which seems pretty pointless, SoBs are barely supported as it is, it's not as if they are draining resources.

Their presence in the book is GW showing the SoBs a little love.

SoBs being "shown love" by being a footnote to be stomped on as a speedbump by whoever's codex or campaign or whatever else they're appearing in has been a time-honored GW tradition for a long time, now.

Oh, my bad, if they sell out of something that means it's still available easily, little Timmy's grandmother will be able to get him a copy for Christmas, etc. No wait, it means it isn't available, which means everything I said is perfectly valid, and you're just splitting hairs on the specific wording. It sold out of the clearly very limited stock that was available and there are no published plans (and almost certainly no internal plans) to reprint it later. That's limited in every meaningful sense of the word, in terms of what it means for the line, which (apparently I have to repeat) is what I care about, and not the semantics of "limited release", "special edition", "too hot for TV uncut edition", etc. Or to adopt your flat, condescending style:

Writing limited edition on it does not make it a limited release, Kanluwen.

Making it limited makes it limited.

It says what it contains in the description, copied below. And it does say "available only while stocks last" at the bottom, which sounds like limited release to me.

HOWEVER, there will be copies available in stores for a while longer I think (ala Space Hulk) and there is a digital edition which is slightly cheaper. AND, more relevant to this particular thread, in today's White Dwarf it says:

"... when you realise the planets being fought over are called the Shields of Baal and that, should they fall, Hive Fleet Leviathan would be free to invade the Blood Angel's home world. Judging by events so far, the Imperium may need reinforcements..."

The Blood Angels WILL be involved in this campaign!

Presented in a deluxe slipcase, this two-book set is brimming with all-new Warhammer 40,000 content.

Book one is a 152 page narrative book containing:

• A wealth of background describing how the Cryptus System became embroiled in conflict
• A blow by blow account of the key events of the invasion and the major battles
• Descriptions of famous regiments that took part in the conflict including their background, colour schemes and heraldries
• Brand new artwork showing the planets, space stations and environments found within the Cryptus System

Book two is a 64 page rulebook that enables you to play games set during the invasion of the Cryptus System:

• 6 new Echoes of War missions to test your mettle
• Cities of Death rules for fighting games of Warhammer 40,000 amongst the war torn streets of destroyed cities
• 6 Cities of Death missions and 36 tactical objectives
• Rules for Death From The Skies, allowing you to include fighter aces in your Warhammer 40,000 battles
• New Tyranids detachment rules and Warlord Traits to represent the composition of the forces of Hive Fleet Leviathan
• New Datasheets for the Mucalid Spore Cluster, Zoanthrope Brood, Maleceptor, Toxicrene, Tyrannocyte, Sporocyst and Mucolid Spore
• 6 new Tyranids formations

This product is available only while stocks last, and has been printed in only in English.

Well given how close it takes place to Ba'al, it'd kinda have to involve the Blood Angels eventually.
