How about this?

NO ONE 'accuse' anyone of trolling, OK?

Rule #1, yes?

Now, having said that, I'm surprised that Sisters are getting a mention 'officially' from GW in anything.

Have they not got official mention in the 6th and 7th rulebook?

They were in 6th I'm pretty sure- don't have the page number on me though. They've had several Black Library books out. Haven't they been in the Dark Heresy stuff too?

Wow I was ninja'ed hard.

They even mentioned Squats in the 6th Ed BRB... so... probably not worth much

I really want them to get a Word Bears vs Sisters of Battle campaign out now.

Nothing like a bit of Holy War.

Maybe throw in The Lost and the Damned.

Yeah, they show up a fair bit in the 40K RPG's, either as NPCs or in the case of Dark Heresy, a playable career.

Wouldn't that be great? A Sisters vs Word Bearer type affair, with a book, a boxed set, and a follow-up book, all culminating in a new Chaos Codex, a new SoB Codex, and (plastic) releases for both.

To be honest that would be a genius marketing strategy.

Sell us a $75 Campaign Book, followed by a $125 Campaign Box, followed by a new Codex.

I'm suprised they didn't think of this earlier and apply it to all army releases.

Yes.

We were just musing using that approach for other armies, and why they hadn't implemented it earlier in the codex release schedule.

It looks like they are giving Blood Angels the Campaign Box and Codex treatment, but we still have Necrons and Adepta Sororitas to go.

Eh, it's happened to several model lines. Squats, Genestealer Cult. Chaos Cult for a while. Arbites to a lesser extent (weren't really an "army" per se).
Squats, Genestealer Cults, and Adeptus Arbiters haven't had legit army rules since 2nd Edition, and all their model ranges predate that.

Adepta Sororitas just have the priveledge of having the worst supported of all the current model lines and a digtal only codex.
How old does it have to get for it to count? Sisters haven't had new models since 3rd. And their 3rd Edition codex didn't even require any Sisters to play.

The precedent is there. The only difference is that GW has been nice enough to give them rules to keep using their models.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Actually, doing a Sanctuary 101 campaign book release would be pretty amazing.

Week 1 - Codex: Adepta Sororitas (Codex Release + Plastic Sobs (10) + Plastic Seraphim (5) + Clampack Sister Superior)
Week 2 - Sanctuary 101 (2-book release, 1 rules, 1 fluff), plastic Exorcist
Week 3 - Basicallica Whatevica (campaign box, 10 SoBs, 5 Seraphim, limited Sister Superior, limited Necron Lord, 12 Necron Warriors, 3 Scarab Swarms, 3 Canoptek Wraiths or whatever they're called now, scenario book)
Week 4 - Codex: Necrons (Codex Release + New Destroyer Kit + Clampack Necron Lord + Cryptek Kit)

It'll never happen, but it'd be fantastic.

That kinda says everything that needs to be said about the Sisters, doesn't it?

Calling the models available to Genestealer Cults and Arbites a 'range' is a bit of a stretch as well. We're talking about handfuls of minis here. There really is no precedent for the removal of an army from 40k on the scale of the Sisters. Nostalgia and raving internet lunacy has really exaggerated the significance of the Squat removal.
How do you "exaggerate" the removal of an entire model line? Squats had something Sisters never did, plastic troops, lol. I'd like to hear what your rationale for the Squat removal being "exaggerated" and how it's "not on the scale of the Sisters" because it will be a good laugh. The Squats had more models than the Sisters do. Like more than twice as many, lol. Probably closer to three times as many.

Plastic Squats! http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2060squatplastics-01.jpg

That's, for those without a calculator app, 97 unique models plus the plastics. And that's not even the entire Squats range, it's just the pictures I was able to find that didn't duplicate models. The full Sisters of Battle miniatures range is, by my count, 43 models, including their unique vehicles. I may be off by a couple. And that's not counting Epic Squats, something Sisters also never had.

I know you guys like to feel special, and oppression is part of your identity so like most minorities, you don't like having to compete for the feels. But the Squats being dropped was a big deal.

Oh, and here are the Genestealer Cult: http://solegends.com/citcat911/c2102genestealers.jpg 24 unique models there.
Another 6 here: http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2103genestealers.jpg
Oh, and they had plastic hybrids too. And plastic genestealers before the genestealers became part of the Tyranid army.

So, ya know, actually, there are only about a half dozen or so more Sisters models than there are Genestealer Cult models too. So I guess calling the Sisters of battle a "range" is a bit of a stretch. Really just a handful of minis.

It is back up on the US site. But that was the clear indicator Dark Eldar were coming, when their old codex disappeared.

Worth noting it's still available in the Blood Angels tab

I think you mean Canoness. A sister superior is just a squad leader, not an HQ.
That box would certainly reenact the Sanctuary 101 massacre pretty well, with the Canoness being way, way less powerful than the Necron Lord, the 10 SoB being less powerful than the 12 necrons warriors, and the 5 seraphim being less powerful than the 3 Canoptek Wraith, and the scarabs as extra.
