Subject: Tyranid Rumours - page#2 teaser vid & new battleforce
There are a few rumours regarding the future release of NEW Tyranid Mon-stars going around other threads at the moment and I'd like to compile them all here for an open discussion!
First of all from Lords of War gaming - as you all have probably read already;
Lords of War Facebook page.
their track record for rumours are, as I understand, 7 correct- 0 wrong and none in between.
"Tons of rumors flying around about Necrons and they are all wrong. The Necrons will only see the release of a Necron lord, no codex will be released. Also Tyranids will see the release of two large bugs. The rules for their models will be in the box like the Nagash release. This is also just a model release for the Tyranids, no codex."
The comments on the post which I found the most interesting I have quoted below;
"What time are we talking for the Nid Release?"
Lords of War Gaming:
"The should release soon, within 6-7 weeks."
"What are the new Tyranid releases like? Are we talking Tyranid equivalents to Knights?"
Lords of War Gaming:
"They will be big, I don't think that they will be that big. From what I was told to me, "It will give the army more punch." Cryptic I know, but that's what I have."
Lords of War Gaming:
There will be a campaign book that is released early November. Necrons are not for a while I know of two armies that are next and another codex that will shock people next year.
Lords of War Gaming:
I been told that there will be a box like storm claw. BA for sure but I don't know it its Nids or Necrons. If I was to guess I would say Necrons following the Storm Claw model.

Games Workshop posted this on their blog;
The swarms of creatures which form the bulk of Tyranid invasion fleets are driven by the indomitable will of the Hive Mind. Towering Hive Tyrants psychically mastermind their movements with Tyranid Warriors spearheading assaults while vast Tervigons replenish losses from their bloated birth sacks.
This multi-part plastic box set contains 25 miniatures: 1 Hive Tyrant, 1 Tervigon/Tyrannofex, 3 Tyranid Warriors and 20 Termagants. Also included are 12 Rippers allowing you to assemble 3 Ripper Swarms.
25/10/2014 - Something that I've just spotted on GW store... Zoanthropes are no longer available? Could the rumoured dual kit be a Zoanthrope/ Doom return?!

Subject: Tyranid Rumours - An unexpected release creeping in?
That "6-7 weeks" post was made on October 8th, putting it around the last week in November. It'll probably be a good three weeks before we get anymore solid info unless LoWG post something new.
Saying they're big, but not quite as big as a Knight makes me think it'll be another dual-kit like the Exocrine / Haruspex. The most obvious assumption if GW are going to continue using the old Epic range for 'inspiration' would be the Dactylis and Malefactor. But unless it was made as a transport again, I'm not sure what role the latter would fill that the Haruspex doesn't already.

I would believe a new bug to coincide with a BA vs Tyranid campaign book/box, especially running up to Christmas, before a plastic venom/zoan kit which would most likely have appeared when the last codex dropped.
Not that I can pretend to understand the logic of GW releases either way.
Let's roll a die... okay dual kit it is.
A plastic Zoey/Venom box would be a Godsend (or Hivemindsend, I guess). I just can't stomach the idea of putting together a metal Venomthrope, let alone a FineCost one.
I guess they're going back to Venomthrope's school of naming again. Ooh, and it has "Hypertoxic"!

Maleceptor sounds cool, though. Perhaps this is the creature that people kept on speculating was the Dominatrix. It's only unfortunate that this is quite literally a Doom of Malantai except on a new model because GW throwing a tantrum over Chapterhouse.
I'd feel dirty buying this model and supporting GW.
(In before cincytrolly comes in hating on Chapterhouse).

The release details are here, and there will be a single box set release for Tyranids that can build either the Maleceptor or the Toxicrene. Get out your respirators, your going to need them........
Please remember that although these are from an excellent source, all early information like this must be considered rumors.

sounds interesting, eager to see the pics. Agreed that toxicrene is a terrible name, but It's only a name after all. Better have a terrible name than a terrible miniature.

So is this supposed Toxicrene basically a super-sized venom/Malanthrope?
No, no, this is from a "solid source" so you can take it to the bank!

That said I'm not dismissing it, just maintaining a healthy air of skepticism.

While the unit details are Natfka-exclusive, as far as I know, Lord of Wargaming rumoured a campaign/Stormclaw-style release with Blood Angels vs. Tyranid or Necrons (or is it Tyranids vs. Blood Angels AND Necrons ). I'm inclined to think Natfka is right today. Doubters kept saying this is impossible, because it would push the Blood Angels Codex into December. But that is not impossible, merely unprecedented in recent years.
Would also fit nicely with the recent Space Hulk release. Tempt the people who bought Space Hulk to start full armies?

Plastic all the way.
I have done six of them. Total PITA to pin all the little spiracle towers on the back.
And they are very top heavy because half the metal is in the head.
Pretty damn pumped on the maleceptor .. toxi thing is meh.. both are dependent on points though. As elites with odd/not great save / toughness profiles I don't see them making the cut unless there is more we don't see and points are low.

Well I suppose if a random super-heavy like the Tesseract Ark, Imperial Knight, and Lord of Skulls can appear on the scene, then I suppose new Nids wouldn't be too far fetched. So long as the source isn't BoLS based, I'm willing to go on a little faith here.
