Okay, new promotion everyone. Help me place an order that qualifies for wholesale discount with a chinese recaster, and when I ship you your part of the order, everyone will get not one, not two, not three but five extra cardboard boxes of various sizes! We have quite the influx of stuff where I work and these boxes are disposed of by the cubic meter every other week.
Size of cardboard boxes may vary. Color is special X-mas limited mulchpaper brown. Offer active while supply lasts! How does that sound for a promotion?

No, it's not a silly complaint; GW thinks that we're all stupid enough to be tempted to spend more money in exchange for a box. If that's not flipping the proverbial Vs up at your customers then I don't know what is. I personally care because treating your customers as if they're brain-dead morons just doesn't sit well with me.
But $17 coffee cups that are free advertisement for them isnt stupid? What about taking the large carrying case and adding $5 to the price and calling it "special edition"?
Sure they are trying to get people to buy stuff to get a cardboard box is dumb but the box is inherently free while other products that you are actually paying for is just silly.

Dude we are at 5 pages of people complaining about a box..... a box. If no one else sees a problem with that... lol. They never said you needed the box they never said anything about the box except we will ship it to you in a christmas box after 5 pages of .

I am mad cause they sent me a email I signed up for about a box I don't want.
At no time should you complain about something free that does not concern them especially a BOX. I can't imagine anyone truly has their panties in a twist over a box. You have to give people a little credit, even on the internet, especially if you wish to be treated the same.

So, no, this box is not free. It costs you 20% of your order.
It costs 25% more than you potential order. 20 is one fourth of 80, so 100 is 125% of 80. Just saying.

Yeah... except we're not. We're at 5 pages of people discussing whether 'Hey, if you spend over a certain amount we'll put it in a pretty box' is a lame promotion, with the occasional person who didn't bother actually reading the thread wandering in and complaining about people complaining.
I think by this point, though, anything that needs to be said probably has been. Let's put this one away as something special that we can dig out and look at fondly on cold winters nights.
