A random greenskin goblin champion from Bones.

Yet another no good Bones ruffian.

Gotta love the generic mooks they've been putting out. Perfect for underlings or Frostgrave fodder.

Now if only I'd finish those flashgitz...

WAAAA~ This martial artist moves so fast my camera can't record him! He looks like a Thai kickboxer, except wearing a skirt and a belly shirt.

I had to paint something under it.

Not sure what Baldy Bones' deal is, looking all aloof with his pointy stick behind him. Is he an elf? Half elf? Professor X? I'm not sure.

What happens when your character actually has to wear every item they've looted off the battlefield.

A gnarly old guy waving his weapons indiscriminately at passersby. Or possibly doing Yoga stretches.

...a wild Bloodstoker appears! Where'd he come from? His starter set came out ages ago. Almost finished with him. Time for details and more highlights.

I dunno... I'm going to have to dig through my Bones piles and see if there's a suitably bald and armored chap to play the role of Damadar. The elfy guy isn't fabulous enough to pull it off.

I got some neat stuff in the mail yesterday.

First up are some of Prodos' newer Warzone figures. These are some Mishima Shadow Hunter Ninjas.

What sucks is that my phone really doesn't pick up the depth of the details on these guys/ gals. They're really crisp, and the amount of clutter on both their bases and bodies is quite impressive.

Also of note is that these guys are made with their Unicast procedure, so they're all one piece and no glue required- even the bases.

I was sad to hear their Empire of Men kickstarter is going with resin instead of the Unicast stuff, but I've never had an issue with Prodos/ Archon resin anyways.

...and speaking of resin, I got these guys in from GT STudio Creations from Spain.

They ran an Orc warband kickstarter a while back, but man are these orcs MASSIVE. That's a female champion. She's already quite a lot bigger than a human.

Here's her male equivalent.

I got the unarmored variation they made of him, but haven't put him or the goblins I get together. Funny enough, their goblins are much more in scale with other lines.

...and then there's the Warlord. Dude is larger than some of my GW ogres.

Not sure how to paint them. Go with regular greenskin, or paint 'em red and toss them in with all my ogres? They're almost the same size after all, if not significantly bigger...

Those ninjas are fantastic. The orcs look great, too, and ambiguously ogreish enough to justify red paint. I say, go red.

BTW did you get my text? Thanks again for getting me started on Shadows of Brimstone.

Them Bones just keep on coming!

An early shot of that Dark Elf warrior we talked about during the Bones 4 campaign. Had to paint him just because.

Some half dressed Asian looking warrior lady? Figured I'd try going with a Seung- Mina color scheme, even though it doesn't match exactly.

The super busy Pathfinder Iconic Ninja with a sculpt that's all over the place. Her face is all kinds of squished up and distorted. Decided I'd paint her up like GI Joe's Jinx, because as my blind ninja master once said, "The keenest eye is that which looks inward."

Working my way through my Malifaux backlog. Got started on my Rail Crew last night. They should paint up right quick, as I'm keeping them pretty simple.

Going to have to build my Talos to hang out with the Rail Golem there.

Geez. Everyone in this update except the Asian girl has weird proportions. The elf and ninja are really thin and those eail workers have weirdly elongated limbs.

Yeah, even the wife and kids commented on the rail worker proportions. Those are early plastics. What's weird is the master is pretty well proportioned, and so's the big beefy henchman dude. Don't know their names offhand...

Elf is an early bones, ninja there's no excuse other than being based on an older Reaper metal figure. Not sure if she was in a later kickstarter or not. Asian girl was in 3 I believe.

I'm looking forward to how I tackle those ninja as well- I don't remember where I put them even!

I STILL haven't primed anything. My priming tray is getting to the point where things will either spill over or break. Probably should do that soon.

So I just kept painting Bones.

A paladin type guy.

Cthulhu in all his glory!

...and showing just how large Cthulhu is with a hill giant (that'll be an ogre chief) who's still in progress.

In non- Bones news, I am making progress on my Tzeentch stuff.

2nd Enlightened almost finished!

Primaris Librarian begun, and then it's on to the wonderful city of Malifaux!

Look, a gretchin servitor, I mean a Gremlin Survivor!

The Arcanists' Amina Naidu, who went from looking vaguely hispanic in the art to an East Asian/ Indian woman. Got a bit more to work on with her. Didn't realize til now that she's got a vest on, not a jacket. Works as a jacket though....

I've also started working on acquiring/ building up some scenery for when Carnevale arrives!

In the meantime I plan to use these buildings with Osprey's new Dracula's America rules. They seem pretty easy and reminds me a bit of Frostgrave mixed with Necromunda. Hopefully can try it out soon!

After reading the article about the dude who spent tens of thousands on Kickstarters and finally started to get a clue, I figured it was time to revisit the one that started me down this terrible path-

Kingdom Death: Monster

I'd had the Butcher just about done for months now, so I finally took those last few steps to completing him and getting him ready for the game.

Not the best picture as his cleaver is blocking most of his body I now realize. I may try photographing him after I seal him.

I also got a lot more progress done on the King's Hand.

Now he needs a significant amount of work still, but my goal is to get him done this weekend.

That only leaves the Watcher and Phoenix to paint, and then I can OFFICIALLY play Kingdom Death painted! How many years late to the party am I? Heck, I may have 1.5 showing up before I finish the phoenix...

Also started to paint up Kandara for Malifaux's Arcanist faction.

She can go hang out with the Rail Crew who are getting sealed this weekend... hopefully.

That's a lot of terrain. Pretty awesome.

The Butcher looks kind of Orky to me for some reason. The hand looks great, and the arcaneist is very colorful. Looks like one of the posters my floormate in college used to stare at while he was ...recreating.

Love the little Cthulhu.

Got my King's Hand done last night, and tried to overcompensate for the dark by turning the brightness up. Didn't work as well as I'd hoped. Happy with the results. Not the greatest paint job out there but it's totally serviceable.

I've been fighting an urge to get an extra kingsman and paint him up all organic...

Also finished up some more Bones that were started and set aside.

The last of my Enlightened/ Skyfire box! Now to actually put them to use...

I've got about a half dozen other Tzaangor models that need completing, so we'll finish them up this week to clear up the que.

Finished up this Wargames Exclusive Tau while I was at it.

Still trudging through my unfinished model pile in an attempt to clear off the painting table so I can clean it off and set up a new layout for it.

Goritsi character coming along nicely. Not sure about his eye color, as they're currently a bluish magical hue...

Tried to do a bit of highlighting on the Primaris Librarian. I have no idea how to paint Marines any more.

Progress on an Avatars of War orc I started ages ago.

A Kairic sorcerer that's out of focus, but finished at least.

A random Malifaux Gaki. Good generic looking undead monster.

Beginnings of a Grymkin Rattler. I ended up scoring a bunch of Grymkin warbeasts for less than half price. Not sure which other ones I'll keep or sell off though. I think Barzam wants me to do the Rage Cage, but I'm partial to Mr. Skin n' Bones or whatever he's called.

He makes a pretty cool undead construct too.

I've got an awful lot of bases I need to finish up as well it seems...

The Gaki are some pretty cool ghostly figures. They come in a 3 pack, all different poses. Typical tiny Malifaux pieces though.

Time for some late night photography!

Finished up another Bones figure that's been sitting in front of me unfinished for weeks on end.

Spent most of my free time painting up these guys.

Happy with the color choices I finally decided on. Naturally couldn't have the champion without a helmet though.

Pictures suck sadly. Grabbed Typhus too, but he's a bit father behind than these guys.

Finished up the first of my Malifaux Oiran. Tried to do a flower blossom pattern on her fans.

Grymkin Rattler is painted and based.

Figure I'll use it for some sort of undead construct. Seem to have acquired a lot of undead monsters lately.

Plus three random Bones figures I'm sick of seeing started and must paint to completion this week.

Mushroom and Troll

Mr. Fancy Orc Merchant.

Also got Typhus coming along nicely. He'll probably show up Thursday or so. Got my Hill Giant/ Ogre boss almost finished as well.

Fancy Orc Merchant is continuing to be worked on, but I also put a bit more time into Typhus.

He also acquired a Bones zombie I am going to finish as well to hang out with. He obviously needs a lot more work done.

I got a Raging Heroes Dark Elf just about finished. She just needs her base done as well as a bit more shading in certain spots.

Koldun Kapitan Valachev, or as we call him the Lenin of Khador. He's close to being finished. He was started at the same time as all the other Greylords I've painted.
It's been a while...

Finished up another Shieldmaiden from Shieldwolf who's been sitting unfinished for some time now.

I'm quite proud of the fact that my painting table is relatively free of half started figures. Nevermind the piles, boxes, drawers, and containers of unfinished projects all stashed away mind you, but the table is CLEAN!

It's been a super busy week for me.

Dealing with a student who is demonstrably on the Autism scale yet isn't getting any support and is in danger of slipping through the cracks, parent conferences, and dealing with teacher inservices has sucked up most my time when I haven't been schlepping my kids around.

Since my painting table has been somewhat empty, I dipped into the never- ending reserves of built and unpainted models stored all over the house.

The first up is a random Forsaken model I had tucked away.

The tentacles and weird arm growths said "Nurgle" to me, so that's the scheme we went with.

I also found an almost empty can of Tamiya primer in the back of a cabinet in the garage, so I went ahead and primed some of my shameful pile in the garage. So it's going to be a bit of Shadows of Brimstone and Brimstone proxies for a bit. Also at some point, Infinity.

Here's a work in progress of the female Prospector resin figure... with a squad of Primaris Agressors I've been slowly completing.
She's going to need a bit more work.

The Piano Man alt gender resin, as well as the alt gender Rancher... I think. These guys had HORRIBLE faces. I'd gladly take the mushy details of the base set plastics over these guys. They were not good resin figures.

At least the wave 2 resins look to be an improvement, not that I've put any together yet.

On the left, the alt gender Marshall resin figure, I think. She could be a lawmen as well. The right is her "upgraded" version from Wild West Exodus. Don't remember the name of the figure.
She's pretty tall, but the giant Outlaw Minis' bases certainly aren't making her appear more in line with everyone else.

A work in progress of Johnny Ringo from the Wild West Exodus line. Who now is missing a gun, which is lost in the carpet in my office. Ugh. Hopefully I can find it, or at least a suitable replacement.

One of the baddest Mofos of the Old West, the legendary Marshall Bass Reeves. Seriously, this dude was the real deal. Read up on him.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_Reeves

He was a birthday gift from Barzam...? From someone in my family. Finally painted him. Really happy with him. Details may be hard to discern due to how dark it was when I took the photo.

Should hopefully have my Blightlords started along with some Tohaa and Combined stuff very shortly!

Thanks for putting in so much effort for that student. You're a real mensch. Would you mind if I asked you a bit about it next time we meet? My son is demonstrating some spectrum behaviors and his current teacher is inexperienced in that area and a bit overwhelmed.

The WWX minis look great. Bass Reeves looks like he has won many a hard fight, and your Johnny Ringo is nobody's least favorite Beatle. Now you just need a couple more minis for your piano man's posse, a real estate novelist and his friend Davy who's still in the navy.

If you need a gun, I've got guns.
